A Movie, Some Art, And Other Things That Made Me Smile

I’m in a terrible mood right now, absolutely riddled with anxiety, frustration, and sadness because of dealing with very narcissistic behaviour from someone all day. Walking on eggshells simply because others have low emotional intelligence is exhausting. In order to improve my mood, I decided to share some things that made me smile this week instead.

The Mandalorian And Grogu

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I went to watch The Mandalorian and Grogu in theatres and it was a lovely experience. I know the movie has mixed reviews but personally, I LOVED it. One of the best Star Wars movies I’ve seen so far. It wasn’t all glitz and glam but it had an touching story and felt similar to the show which we loved as well.

My outfit for the movie, I didn’t buy the shirt for the movie I simply happened to have it:

Art

I’ve continued my oil pastel art which has been a lot of fun. My cousin actually gave me some of his oil pastels too which he no longer uses which I was grateful for because they’re very good quality.

Here are some of my more recent drawings:

Writing

I’ve been writing again, on and off. I don’t have much yet but at least I’m writing again. The only good part about being in a bad mood is that it really fuels my writing for some reason.

Reviews

I’ve gotten more review for my novel, Perfect, which always feels surreal in the best way. To know that people enjoyed my writing is truly incredible, it makes me feel like all that hard work was worth it. More on those next week.

Anyway, that’s all for me. I am mentally and emotionally drained but at least I have so much to be grateful for. Some stuff made me sad but there were also lots of things that made me smile and I’m choosing to focus on those for now.

What have you been up to? What made you smile this week? Let me know in the comments below because I would absolutely love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. BIG HUGS just for you

  2. Saw that film recently. Was one of the real Disney ones. When I left Booking.com had done some sort of force application in my phone. Negotiations were short.

  3. We learn to ride the waves. Im glad you’re focusing on the good stuff rather than letting the not so good weigh you down. Loved the artwork, btw.
Haven’t seen the new Star Wars as yet. Torn between that and the HeMan movie. But I like starters way more, so I will probably end up doing that instead

  4. I’m sorry that you are in a bad mood, Pooja, in time you will be able to push that nonsense aside and not let people get to you easily. I don’t put up with anyone’s rubbish these days…

  5. Sorry you had to deal with that kind of bs from another person. I can only imagine how exhausted you must be from it.

I’ve heard lots of good things about Mando & Grogu from a wide variety of people. I guess it can’t be that bad then 😉

  6. So nice to get positive feedback on your published work Pooja. You have many interests.

  7. I hope things get better for you. If you don’t have to be around that person, please consider limiting your time with them. No one should have to walk on eggshells. Be well.

  8. I’m pleased that you are finding the thin gs in life that make you happy. With regards to what is making you sad it’s sometimes hard to address these type of situations but from experience I can tell you that life without that person will be so much better 😊

  9. I loved the oil pastels you did of the fruit, so cool!

  10. I know exactly how you feel. It’s not easy to deal with. Glad some Star Wars and making some art helps as a good distraction from all of the BS.

  11. I love Grogu, even though I haven’t seen anything with him in it. He’s so cute! I’m sorry for what you’re experiencing, but am glad that you’re able to creatively deal with it. The drawings are beautiful. 🤗💜🌻

  12. 🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

  13. Hi Pooja!

“I’m in a terrible mood right now, absolutely riddled with anxiety, frustration, and sadness because of dealing with very narcissistic behaviour from someone all day. ”
    I can relate here.💯
But the good thing is that the situation at home has improved recently. Mentally and emotionally I’m stable at present.

I had an exam on last Sunday. I attended it, and as per me I tried my best— within the limits of my preparation.
There’s another exam getting organised today, on this Sunday. For this I had to reach Delhi and then to one more city from there. Because of too much heat and health risks I cancelled this particular journey, at the last moment.
I was anxious too. Felt so much pressure. But I’m doing fine at present. I tell myself to not attach my identity or self-worth to a particular exam/job.

I saw your drawings. They are beautiful and accurate. The detailing makes them more attractive. Also you did use the colours effectively.
You can use these drawings as illustrations in your book.

So many things are going on. It becomes difficult to focus.
Slowly I’m figuring out the distractions and minimising them.

I hope you are good. Take care.☘️☘️

  14. Your art looks fantastic. Alchemy is the answer! 🙂

  15. Thank you for sharing this honest and heartfelt post. 🌹

What stood out to me most is your ability to find gratitude and joy even after such an emotionally draining day. That takes real strength. The movie, your artwork, the return to writing, and the positive reviews for Perfect are all wonderful reminders that difficult moments do not erase the good things happening in our lives.

Your oil pastel drawings are beautiful, and it’s inspiring to see you channel your emotions into creativity. Sometimes art and writing become the very things that help us navigate challenging seasons.

Congratulations on the growing recognition for your novel as well those reviews are a testament to your hard work and talent. Wishing you many more reasons to smile in the days ahead. 💕💕💕

  16. I liked the movie- Mandolorian too. Hope you feel better soon dear friend. Hugs

  17. Hope you have a better week coming up. We had very dry weather, so it was nice to get some rain today.

  19. One of my friends won an emmy for producing the sound for the Mandalorian (Bonnie Wild). So I’m biased about the film.
Love those pastels. Colours are glorious.
As for me – I’m enjoying some great reviews for ‘My 60s’ book and impatiently hoping for more.
I’m producing the cover for ‘My 70s’ – which I have written and had edited. Now I’m going back to sort The Hendrix Paradox – a sci-fi novel which I am going to re-edit. Busy busy!

  20. Great looking at the positive side, P. J.
I got your book too an I’m reading but can only get in about 15mins every couple of days. I’m up to the roof with tasks these days, but I do enjoy the 15mins. I’ll be reviewing asap.
