Have you ever dealt with someone who can never change their mind about something or can never admit when they’re in the wrong? Even with tiny little things. Like you can say it’s 1 p.m and they say no it’s actually 2 p.m and so you show them your watch and prove that it’s 1 p.m. And instead of just being like “oh my bad” they decide to say something infuriating like “well it’s 2 p.m somewhere…” Every time something like that happens, I’m just left thinking- why are people like this? What’s so bad about being wrong?
In my personal opinion, not being able to admit when you’re wrong is a sign of low emotional intelligence. Someone that is secure in themselves and knows how to process their emotions wouldn’t behave that way. It’s also incredibly manipulative to try to gaslight people into thinking you’re right when you’re not
I’ve dealt with someone like this in my life and it’s genuinely exhausting to be around people who can literally never admit they’re wrong even though they often are. I had to start keeping my distance because it was messing with my head and I started feeling like I was going crazy and maybe I was the one in the wrong. Moving forward, I want to stay away from people like this. I can’t be around people who are stuck and never want to evolve.
But seriously, why are people like this. Geez.
Have you ever met someone like this? Please share your craziest manipulation/gaslighting stories in the comments because I need to know I’m not the only one dealing with this lol. Or simply stop by and say hi!
