Hey, everyone! I’m back to blogging. Unfortunately, while I was gone, we said goodbye to two legends- Dolly Parton and Tim Curry. Generally, I try to distance myself from celebrities as I don’t think parasocial relationships with people you don’t actually know are healthy. However, I was a really big fan of both Dolly Parton and Tim Curry and their passing hit hard. Especially as they were unexpected.
For those of you that are new here, when I was in university I took a lot of different elective courses and one of them was about the history of country music. I ended up doing an assignment about Dolly Parton for that course. I was already a fan of her music but learnt much more about her during that course. Everything she went through when she was younger, going from nothing to being one of the biggest country music stars in the world, giving back so much to those less fortunate than her. She was an incredible human being.
Her most popular songs are still very popular however I want to share the song I did my assignment on that has since become my favourite song by her.
As for Tim Curry, there are so many fantastic roles he’s done that we’ll remember him by. But my favourite movie that he stared in is Clue. Check out this post by Luisa from Words And Music And Stories where she shares some of Tim Curry’s most iconic roles:
