About three months or so ago, we decided to stop by Jiko Restaurant which is located in Tribe Hotel and of course I wanted to share the experience and review with you guys. Fun fact, Jiko in Swahili means cooking stove and it usually uses charcoal. A little like a barbecue grill.
Shoutout to my cousin for taking these awesome pictures and going the extra mile!
The Vibe
The vibe was immaculate, such a lovely place and oddly enough there were lots of lilies everywhere which are my favourite flower!

The Food
The food was amazing, it wasn’t overly spiced but everything tasted fresh and delicious. I also liked that they had a lot of options, not just the bare minimum when it came to vegan and vegetarian food.
We had the Cauliflower 65, Mushroom Pita, Fries (of course!), Paneer Tikka, Lemon Rice, Plantain & Soy Tempura, and a veggie lasagna (I can’t find the pic for it for some reason). My favourite was the cauliflower and the sandwich.

For dessert, I forget what it was but I think it was banana bread with ice cream and it was really good. The bread part was very moist and not too sweet.

Overall
Overall, it was so much fun. The place was lovely, the food was great, the staff was kind and helpful. If you’re ever in the area, do check out Jiko Restaurant. I will say though, I think dinner would be best because it looks so good with all the lights switched on and everything.
