Positive Body Image

I was inspired to do this post by Shay-Lon who has an amazing blog and YouTube channel. She recently talked about how people are obsessed with looking a certain way depending on what the media tells you is ‘in.’ People used to go out of their way to be skinny and now plus-size is all in and then soon it’ll be something else. I mean it’s okay to want to look good but honestly it’s not that big of a deal and it shouldn’t matter that much as long as you’re healthy and happy about the way you look. Having a positive body image is much more important than having the perfect body. We should have a body that is healthy and running well. Size should not be something we fixate on for no reason. There is no “perfect” size because the idea of perfection is manmade and unachievable.

So today I decided to share some quotes about having a positive body image:

  1. I especially loved the quote that says “Exercise because you love your body, not because you hate it”…so important! Thank you for sharing these!

  2. WOW! I appreciate it, thank you. I am honored that you felt inspired & have chosen to share your positive words. This is the type of chain reaction I look forward to and the kind of things that can make a difference in someone’s day. Again, thank you. Much appreciated. I hope to continue to inspire and you others and keep this chain reaction flowing 🙂

    1. Yes your videos are just so inspiring and I really hope this chain reaction continues because it is very important for people to understand that they do not need to look a certain way to be happy or attractive. Thanks for all the inspiration 🙂

  3. Please read Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolff…..she says beauty myth is actually prescribing behavior and not just appearance. These posts are inspirational to all women . 🙂

    1. That’s really true because so often we’re told how to act and behave and I will definitely read the book! Thank you so much 🙂

  4. Thank you for sharing those lovely quotes 🙂 I really liked the one that said ¨¨”Just be yourself. Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful and magical person that you are.” Sometimes I feel that people can be so shallow and snobby, and I truly appreciate if someone just acts more natural.
