Port Dalhousie Experience

Port Dalhousie, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.

A couple of days ago my sister and I decided to visit Port Dalhousie! I haven’t been to a lot of places since the pandemic started and usually we just take walks in our neighbourhood so I don’t have much to share on here but since things are now slowly going back to normal it’s easier and safer to go places.

We had been meaning to go to Port Dalhousie for quite a while now but something always came up. Things finally worked out sometime ago and we headed there in the afternoon.

It’s so crazy but the whole week the weather was super rainy but on this day it was sunny and perfect. I guess the universe really wanted us to go lol!

There are a number of fun things to do at Port Dalhousie but the best one is the port walk. That’s what we did this time.

At the beginning there were lots of birds. There were seagulls, ducks and of course geese. The geese were making too much eye contact so we quickly started walking away and decided to see the ducks instead lol!

This are the lighthouses- they are so beautiful!

The water was so clear and I love that fresh smell you get from large bodies of water. It was so relaxing to just stand there and stare at the water. I would love to go back sometime and just meditate there.

I hope you guys had fun looking through the pictures! I’m glad I was able to make a different type of post after so long. And also glad we didn’t get murdered by geese lol.

  1. Neat. I worked in At Catherine’s and lived in Niagara Falls years ago when my husband and I were first married. Got married in Niagara Falls.

  2. Wow, you are having a good time. It must be a pleasant temperature. I googled and it is very close to Lake Erie although not on the shore of it. And it is pronounced “duh-LOO-zee”. That’s interesting.

  3. Just a note – I grew up on a farm and my mom was a gooseheard. All we had to do was raise our arms and look threatening while running toward the geese and they fled. However, if you run from them, they will chase you. You just must let them know that you’re not going to take any of their crap! (Ha! Ha! Accidental pun!!!)

  4. It’s such a beautiful place. It looks so calming from the pictures.

Glad you were able to go out and do something.
    Love your outfit!

  5. It looks beautiful and the weather looks great too! I’m so glad you had a nice time. Geese can be evil but swans can be just as bad! My Dad used to need a mobility scooter to get around and the swans always used to follow him around the sides of the lake! Lol

    1. It was incredible! I was so used to only going to the park near me or walking around on my street so this was such a nice change of scenery.

          1. If you have ever seen the movie Fly Away Home, they make herding geese look easy! I had to try it in a more desperate situation and my mind was racing!

              1. It was one of my favourite childhood movies! I didn’t understand why for a long time and then I realized I am a TCK and the main character is a TCK too! I have watched it several times since moving to Canada. It’s helped me so much!

  6. All I could think of is the seagulls in Nemo..Mine, Mine, Mine! Beautiful scenery…sometimes the change of scenery helps with the writing. 😊
