About “Broken In The Same Places”:
I really wanted to share Broken In The Same Places today. I loved this image as soon as I saw it, there was something beautiful yet sad about it. The poem is mainly about how so often we wait for the right person and finding the right person can truly be life changing. It can feel like you finally have someone you can connect with on a deeper level.
What really felt real to me was how all of us are broken in some way or the other. But not everyone can see those wounds and scars. And not everyone can be trustworthy enough to share these things with. However, when you do find someone that you can share those parts of yourself with it can change your life. It can feel like you finally have someone that sees you, that knows the real you. Someone that’s there for you when you’re at the lowest point.
This song has been stuck in my head for some reason and that’s what inspired this poem. One line in particular really struck out for me and I’m sure you’ll hear it too.
