It’s Still The Little Things

Beautiful flower. It's the little things.

Instead of a quote post today I thought I would share a different type of post. I published a post called “It’s The Little Things” a long time ago and I thought it really still is the little things. I wanted to share with you guys this beautiful flower I saw the other day. My sister took this lovely picture.

My week has started out weird but hopefully it will get better. I didn’t have a good nights sleep last night so I wasn’t in the best mood today but hopefully things will look up tomorrow. I’m also getting a little sick of social media so I’m trying to be less active on my pages. If I don’t respond or something please don’t take it personally.

I have been thinking about cutting my own bangs but unfortunately I have a lot of stuff coming up including a wedding in the very near future. Not mine, thankfully, lol. And in case the bangs turn out crazy I don’t want to look awful in all the pictures. So I guess one of my goals for next year will be to cut my own bangs. I will most definitely be sharing the before and after pictures.

Anyway, I wanted to share this image today because I am trying to appreciate the little things more. I want to care more about small wins than loses. For some reason the human brain likes to concentrate on the bad but I’m trying to train it to do the opposite.

What are some of your plans for this week? What have you been up to? Is there anything going on in your life? Did you like the picture? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear from you!

  1. I loved the picture Pooja and the reminder, “to stop and smell the roses,” if you will. We’re in the middle of a heat wave this week and suddenly I am most grateful for air conditioners, ice cubes, large pools of water! Hugs, C

    1. Thanks so much. Haha there’s nothing like a heatwave to make you appreciate your AC! Hope it cools down soon.

  2. I love the picture, and I am glad you shared it with us. Sometimes, really, that’s all that’s needed.

I am working on a chapbook of poems for and about my job as a central scheduling specialist for radiology and my teammates who make my days so much better.

I will gift the chapbook to them by way of a PDF file by having the regional director for our department share it through our company email. She doesn’t know that this will be her task, but I know she’ll be up for it.

I also plan on sharing it with the CEO of our hospital organization. Working on this project has given me the needed strength I’ve wanted in the last couple of weeks.

    Happy New Week, Pooja!

    1. Thanks so much.

Wow, that’s such a lovely way to show them how much you appreciate them. I hope the book goes amazing and I just know they’ll love it.

      Happy New Week!

      1. Thank you kindly!

        1. You’re very welcome!

  3. Hope your week goes better than it started! It truly is the little things, right?!

    1. It’s already looking up, thank you!

  4. Delightful…Life is all abut the little things (and getting away from social media) is always a good idea!

    1. Thanks and yes I absolutely agree!

  5. Yes I do like the picture. This post is very refeshing as yes “little things matters”
    Thanks for sharing this.
I hope I haven’t bothered you enough on social media to annoy you.
Yes, you take good care of your mental health. I wonder why you were unable to sleep, but please be well.
Also, before after pic would be great.
I thought your wedding is coming up, and I thought you are saying it so casually. Haha
Please take good care and invest time that matters the most to you. Rest properly and keep shining.

    1. Ohh about me… I am doing more marketing of my business, so I am out a lot. Which is not a good thing for an introvert like me, haha. This is why I wanted to become a blogger and earn through it, so that I have to meet people less. haha
Also, Finally I was able to go to the gym after 1 week, today I have a call with nutritionist and will focus more on nutrition. I want to get into decent shape, before my marriage. haha

      1. That’s great. Marketing helps a lot. Lol as an introvert I so relate but you have to market online too unfortunately and have meetings.

That’s great and good luck with all that! Marriage season is upon us 😂

        1. My marriage is probably next year or 24 haha
I’m looking forward to your pics. Make a good long blog 😛
I swear, I really want to avoid people sometimes. Haha.
Well, I haven’t texted much on IG, just some appreciation. 😅

          1. Haha it’s not happening till the wedding is over so not anytime soon.

Lol I avoid everyone sometimes too just to take a break. I’ll reply soon though I promise 😅

            1. 😁
              Keep smiling friend

    2. Thanks so much.

No, I haven’t checked your messages yet but I’ll reply as soon as ai get a minute.

Lol it’s definitely not my marriage anytime soon. Just a cousins lol. Still wanna look cute in the pics though.

  6. When it comes to cutting your own bangs, when the context fits, GO FOR IT! You got this! 😏

    1. Haha thank you, I so appreciate the encouragement!

  7. Love the flower, and I hope your week goes smoother! And social media at times can be daunting, especially lately. Maybe something’s in the air.

Can’t wait to see your bangs! 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, it’s already getting better! 🙂

      1. That’s great to hear 🌻🤗

        1. Thanks 🤗

  8. Flowers brighten my day. We’re on our last days at the beach before we return to the desert. Every year I look forward for our beach days. And then they’re gone.

    1. I always love seeing flowers too. Enjoy your last days. Time always flies when you’re happy.

  9. I love the picture! I’m so sorry about the week but I love your positive spin on everything ❤️ I hope next week is better for you

    1. Thank you! The week is already looking up ❤️

      1. I’m so glad!

  10. I loved the picture!
And yes, thank you for making me realise too, that little things matter.

Cutting your own bangs sounds great, i definitely want to see your before and after pictures.

Hoping for a better week ahead for you, Pooja.

    1. Thanks so much! The week is already looking up.

  11. The picture is beautiful, and the color is so vibrant. I am trying to post more than I usually do, but still writing my second book. I think we should think about the little things because they matter to. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful week.

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, you must be busy with the book so it’s fair that you can’t post as frequently. How is the book coming along?

      1. It’s coming along fine. I had to take a small break though, my fingers started to hurt. I cannot wait until it is finished and published so I can take a step back and just work on promoting them both. Well, it’s time for me to get back to work. Have a wonderful week.

        1. Hope your fingers heal soon, don’t overwork yourself. Thanks and have a wonderful week too.

  12. Beautiful photo – on the subject of bangs, I just got some and love them but I had a hairdresser – not so sure it’s a good idea to attempt them on your own but all for being adventurous. 😊

    1. Thanks so much. I’ve been cutting my hair for like 5 years so I feel like I may be ready but if it’s a disaster you can tell me “I told you so” 😂

      1. Oh video it! I find it fascinating how people cut their own hair – my Mum used to cut all of our hair when we were younger (with mixed results 😂) and my sister had a crack at mine a few times. The good thing about hair is it grows out – unlike dolls hair as I found out when I trimmed all my sisters dolls hair and got in big trouble

        1. Yeah I’ve seen some good YT videos in it and that’s why I want to get bangs and cut them myself lol 😂
My sister did that to my dolls too and I have still not forgiven her for it 😅

          1. Hahah yeah well we are middle stages of life now and it still hurts, if I bring it up – I get the snake eyes 😂

  13. Loved the pictures sissy
It’s indeed still the little things in life that matters.

    1. Thank you so much and yes absolutely. 💕

  14. It’s interesting! And yeah! sometimes it’s the little things that matter!

    1. Thanks and yeah absolutely!

      1. Welcome 🌹🌹

  15. I always found, there is nothing grander than… the little things that matter. Even a grammatist would agree, methinks! 😉

    1. You have to tell me all about what kind of bangs you are planning to cut! I also got long bangs want to go shorter next time

      1. I’ll send you a pic/video of what I’m planning but it’s not happening till February 😂 Ooh you would look so cute in short bangs, remember when you had them!

    2. Yes, once the grammatist is done having a stroke thanks to that sentence they would absolutely agree 😆

  16. Always the little things 🌺

The salon i go to offers free bang trims for existing clients. Maybe you can find one near you like that? Trimming your own bangs is a bold move, especially if they’re cut straight. I’ve trimmed my own hair for years but i don’t have bangs and my hair is curly so it takes a big mistake to notice. Not that I haven’t overdone it before… 😂
    Good luck!

    1. Absolutely 🌷

Ooh interesting, I’ll have to ask around and see if anyone does that here. My hair is kind of curly too so sometimes when it’s wonky you can’t tell and I’m so grateful 😂

  17. I’m overwhelmed with how behind I am so I am trying to get back on track this week. But I finally moved and my new roommate is fostering 5 kittens so I’ve been playing with them as an instant mood boost. The little things, especially adorable furry little kittens, really make the difference.

As for bangs, I used to trim mine. Once you get a hang of it it’s not that bad. But while you’re getting a hang of it, know that bangs can be nicely braided away if you ever need to hide them XD

    1. Omg best roommate ever, comes with 5 kittens! How adorable. I love kittens.

      Haha thanks for the tip.

  18. I also try to enjoy the little things in life such as the beautiful flower picture you shared and the butterflies and bumble bees that fly around the flowers near me. If we can’t enjoy the little things in life, how are we supposed to enjoy life in general. Nice post Pooja.

    1. Thanks so much and yes we can only appreciate life when we enjoy the little things.

  19. have fun celebrating those small wins – collectively they add up to a big one!

    1. Thanks and yes exactly!

  20. Good message! sometimes, by focusing on what went wrong, we forget to celebrate the small wins. A great reminder to all of us! The picture is also so lovely!

    1. Thanks! Yes, so agree. It’s hard to think of the good when things go wrong but it’s important to remember these small wins.

  21. Wonderful post ❣️
Life’s best memories are all about little things, in which we should enjoy them more.

    1. Thanks so much and yes absolutely 💕

  22. I love flowers 🌺. It’s beautiful! About 4 months ago I deleted my social media pages. Tik tok, FB and IG. I started a brand new IG that no one knows about. And I only follow skin care, healthy foods and make up tips. That is all. It feels great to not see any posts related to people that you know, and that you don’t really talk to.

    1. Thanks so much!

Wow that’s great. I have a TT page that no one knows about where I just post random things I want and follow random people whose content I enjoy. It’s actually really relaxing.

      1. Yes! I love that I don’t follow anyone I know and just enjoy the randomness lol!

        1. Exactly, it’s like your own little private space!

  23. Bangs are always tricky and they have to be cut when there are no important events in the near future.
I try to enjoy the small things in life all the time. Things most people miss when they’re on their way to work, stuck in traffic, and when the day isn’t going so well. I just try to take 5 minutes or so just to relax.
I started working again after 20 years and it feels pretty strange. I have to get used to it again. I can’t see my kids as much and my disability isn’t helping make my job any easier. But I’m getting a paycheck. I haven’t been posting as much because I’ve been so tired every day.

    1. Yeah bangs are always a bit of a risk so I’ll wait till there’s nothing major going on in my life.

Sorry to hear you’ve been tired but happy to hear you got a job. I’m sure it’s quite an adjustment but hopefully you’ll get used to it soon.

  24. Over the long Labor Day weekend, I had two consecutive nights (Friday night and Saturday night) where I was plagued by insomnia. I’ve slept well in the nights that followed, but it’s Wednesday evening here in the East Coast of the U.S. and I still feel tired.

On the other hand, I passed the 1,000-post mark on my WordPress blog and the $100-threshold for payments via AdSense on my Blogger blog, so….

    1. Oh no, sorry to hear that. Some nights are just like that. Hopefully you’ll get a goodnights sleep tonight.

      Wow, that’s great. Congratulations.

      1. I did sleep well last night, though I suspect I could have used another hour’s worth of sleep this morning.

Hope everything is well with you!

        1. I actually feel the same way. I could use an hour or two of sleep too lol!

  25. A bit late: I love the picture! A question; did it smell nice?🤔

    1. Thanks so much and yes it smelt really nice.

  26. I took a picture of the moon for the first time. It wasn’t super clear but for some reason it’s one of my proudest moments. So you’re right, it is the little things that give us the best feelings. I hope your week got better 🤍

    1. Thank you so much. Wow, that picture sounds lovely. It did and hope your week went well 😊

  27. Yes, take a good rest. Sometimes we need to get away. I was away from the social media for four to five days and it is really relaxing and refreshing. LOL. I think I can’t live with and can’t live without social media.

    1. Lol that’s exactly it. We can’t live with social media but we can’t live without it either. It’s a double edged sword.

  28. Yes…what is life without the little things that brings you joy…

  29. I’m feeling overwhelmed with Twitter but it’s so hard to get away from 😆
I hope you have a better days ahead. Much love x

  30. Hi. How are you doing? I feel like I’m always playing catch up on reading blogs. I have to have both physical and mental energy to read, and my son has to be not nagging me. I used to get frustrated by all the blogs I have to catch up but then I told myself the purpose of reading is to enjoy it, so even if I’m 2 weeks late to reading a blog post, as long as I get to it, I’m fine. What you said is true. It really is the little things that make a difference. The smell of coffee in the morning. A soft breeze. A smile. A hug. Nature.

    1. I’m good, how are you? I appreciate your comments even if it’s later. Don’t pressure yourself too much when it comes to blogging. Like you said you should enjoy it.
Yes, it’s absolutely the small things.

      1. I’m good. Doing relatively okay today. ❤️

        1. That’s good. 💖

  31. It’s funny how little things we see as insignificant can change our mood. I was a little stressed out the other day and I decided to take a walk. The cool breeze felt soothing as I walked around the house and I felt as light as a feather. Good job Pooja 👍👍

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, those little things make all the difference. I love taking walks when I’m stressed out too.

  32. Hey Pooja, Beautiful post. 🫶🏻

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  33. Hibiscus😍 this reminds me of simpler times. We had them planted all around the school when I was in primary school

    1. I remember the good old days when I was in school too, we had a lot of lovely flowers to admire although never any hibiscus.

  34. We all need a SM break from time to time!! Take care of you Pooja💜

    1. Absolutely, thank you! 💖
