Quote Of The Day:

Quote Of The Day

What’s Happening In My Life:

Well, to be honest not too much has been going on in my life. As you guys most likely know by now, I have a pretty bad case of the flu. And although I am doing much better I’m still recovering so I don’t want to push my body too much.

I’ve been watching a lot of older episodes of animated shows for adults. I love watching stuff like that a when I’m sick because it’s what I grew up watching. It’s comforting in a way. And they’re just stupid, funny shows which I always enjoy. They’re very light and I don’t have to think when I watch them.

I’ve also been cooking again which is nice. I wasn’t cooking too much when I was feeling really sick. I also washed my hair after like a week which is the best feeling ever. Usually I was it every other day. But I didn’t want to when I was sick. I also cleansed, exfoliated etc which left my skin feeling SO soft. I truly missed doing all that when I was sick. It’s like a form of self-care for me.

    1. Loved the quote, very true.
You sound like you are doing all the right things with your flu, hopefully a full recovery is on the way soon. I’m travelling tomorrow to a conference and then back the next day after a morning meeting.
I’m not really looking forward to it but trying to keep my mind open to the fact that perhaps I might meet some interesting people …if not there is always coffee

  1. I hope you feel better soon. I did like the quote. A hot shower and shave can make me so much better when I am under the weather. I hope some self care is helping you feel more normal also.

  2. Love the quote! We are planning to spend a quiet Thanksgiving at home. Probably will unpack some and watch some Thanksgiving and/or Christmas movies. Might bring some gf muffins to the homeless shelter, but at this point, I haven’t found my gf flour, so maybe not! Hope you are fully recovered by Thanksgiving! I know washing your hair after a time not being able to is the most awesome feeling!!!

  3. That’s a great quote. Self-pampering and self-care can work wonders indeed. I’m glad that you’re able to start cooking. Enjoy your binge-watching session. Hope you feel much better. Take care

  4. I hope you feel better. I don’t look at mistakes like they are a bad thing. They are learning experiences

  5. Get well soon Pooja 🙂 . I resonate with this quote deeply, I believe wisdom plays a huge part here. I would argue Experience is indeed recognizing the mistake again — However, Wisdom is not stopping there, but making sure to avoid making the same mistake no matter how tempting it may be.

  6. The quote was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, and I liked that. And, watching shows that make you nostalgic is a great form of treatment. Hoping you get well soon

  7. I totally forgot about the quote when I read the words “animated shows”
I do enjoy animated shows and anime. Recently I watched Love death robots, it’s a Netflix original if you want to check it out. Then, if you are on Netflix, you can also enjoy tons of other great shows, they have He-man revelation, Castlevania, Ultraman, super crooks, Transformers: war for Cybertron, Dragon’s dogma, Pacific rim: black, Seis manos, etc.
Okay, you never asked and there are high chances that you may get annoyed, but I now consider you my blogging buddy, so I will take chances. haha
About your health, I am glad that you are doing well. I wish I get the opportunity to eat something that is cooked by you. Maybe one day, if you visit India.
    Take care buddy.
Ps- you should do Longest comment award thing, I will win, haha

    1. Haha thanks for the recommendations, I’ll check them out. At the moment I’m just watching old Family Guy and South Park episodes.
I wish I could share food virtually with everyone. That would be so nice. I will definitely come to India one day. I have some family and friends there and of course I want to do some traveling.
Haha always appreciate your long comments 😊

  8. I hope you feel better soon. I’m almost used to flu’s now. What’s up with me? Nothing much, trying to catch up on WordPress, since our community transformer got vandalized and there’s no electricity.

    1. Thanks so much. Nairobi weather is so great I rarely get sick here and when I do it’s because I got it from someone.
Sorry to hear that. I didn’t have electricity yesterday as well and it sucked. Hope you get your electricity back soon.

      1. You are most welcome.

        My healing?
        – The leg is much better, though I’m still walking on crutches when out and about. A lot has happened around all that which gave me a hard time and healing from that will take a while longer. But I now feel like I have a chance to make it and that feels really good.
        Thanks for asking! 🙂

  9. That’s great you got some self-care time. Hot showers are a powerful medicine. Refreshing! 💕

This week is Thanksgiving and I finished cleaning my house and we got all we need for ingredients so, no stress this year. Thank goodness.

          1. My day started early; it was afternoon where you are but early in the morning here when I posted my “November Morning, 2022” haiku.

I just had brunch, and now I’m debating whether I should write another post or not.

  10. Happy to hear that you are felling much better. The quote of the day is very true but it sounds like the mistake is made again and not learned from the first time. It’s good to recognize a mistake before it is made again, wouldn’t you think? Maybe I’m not reading it quite right though?

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, I know what you mean but I think this quote is trying to say that when you accidentally make a mistake twice don’t be too hard on yourself and learn from it.

      1. That’s great! This was a bad flu, wasn’t it? There’s a flu going on here, but I got my shots so I don’t know if I’ll get it or not.

  11. Oh, you poor dear. Wish you a recovery soon. I remember the days when I didn’t wash myself for the sake of watching K-drama DVD. For a whole week, I didn’t do anything other than staring at the TV screen. I was almost dead when I finished it. Yes, get some good rest and be strong again.
For the wisdom of your quote, I have to say I repeat many mistakes and it’s usually years after that I realize what I did wrong. I think other people do things more naturally than I do. Growing up in a narcissistic family, I had all my views somehow warped and had to learn everything afresh after I became independent…

    1. Thank you so much. A good K-drama will do that to you. I always end up binge watching them too. Yes, it’s hard because of your upbringing and the people you were surrounded by. Don’t be too hard on yourself, you’re still doing well for someone who went through what you did.

  12. So glad you are functionally better now. Sending hugs from U.K. the quote is very true. Time doesn’t mark experience, but learning from mistakes does 🙂

  13. I’m happy to read that you’re recovering!

I really enjoy that quote and it’s frustrating that we often don’t recognize that a mistake has been repeated until after we do it again.
