Quote Of The Day

Hope you enjoy todays quote of the day.

What’s The Haps?

It is SO hot in Nairobi right now. I am literally sweating like crazy. Luckily it’s not too bad inside but it’s so sunny outside. I am so not leaving the house for a while lol.

I recently watched the five new episodes of “You” that came out on 9th. If you’re unfamiliar with it, it’s a TV show which is super popular especially among people my age. I absolutely love it although I found the last season to be not as good as the first two. However, this season is really good. And funny because they keep using TikTok references to attract the younger Gen-Z audience or go viral on TikTok. They really don’t need to do that though, like the show is already so popular. Anyway, I watched the 5 episodes with my family and we all really enjoyed them. I look forward tot he last 5 in March.

As I mentioned, I was going for lunch with my cousins today. We went, we ate, we took pics. It was the usual lol. But after lunch, I went to this place with lots of cats and the cats were so friendly. Except one that just looked at me and walked away lol. But the rest were adorable and so fun to hang out with.

Did you enjoy todays quote of the day? Have you watched the latest episodes of You? Are you a cat person like me? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below because I would love to hear from you!

  1. My contribution…“Take it from me: love has all the lasting permanence of a rainbow- beautiful while it’s there, and just as likely to have disappeared by the time you blink.”
    ― Jodi Picoult

  2. Lol Joe Goldberg for President (lol joke) I enjoyed those five episodes as well. Personally, i’m a little disappointed cause I saw the twist coming. Partially my own fault for theorizing every episode lol the show continues to be good though. Really good.

As for the Quote, It feels like a timeless piece of advice. Because if you are not true to your values/soul. How can you hope to be true to others and value their souls as well 🙂

    1. Honestly, even though I know Joe is a bad person I can’t help but like him. Some of the things he says are so relatable lol. Yeah, I saw the twist coming too. It was pretty obvious who the killer was not going to lie. But still very enjoyable build up.

Yes, that’s how I feel too. You can only ever be happy if you’re true to yourself.

  3. Today’s quote is a good complement for the discussion on self-care. I have not seen ‘You.’ Must be living under a rock, lol. My wife and I are cat people… we have a cat who was rescued from freezing in the northern part of our province and we got him from a shelter. He sings when he meows so we called him Perry Como, after the singing legend of the 1950s and ’60s. He’s a very good cat, with a nice personality.

    1. Haha well now is the right time to get into watching You. Oh wow, I love it when people rescue/adopt. There are so many cats that need homes. Perry sounds so lovely.

  4. I liked the quote of the day! I am more of a small dog person; actually a hyper-allergenic small dog person! We had to take our littlest Maltipoo to the vet today. She was having trouble breathing and her tummy was hard. She finally pooped (yay!) and we’re waiting on blood work to see if there is anything else up. Her x-ray was clear. It’s so hard when they’re so tiny (Lulu is just 4.8 lbs.!)

I like cats, and we had many barn cats on the farm growing up, but I think I may be allergic to them now. I know I developed an allergy to dogs in my 30’s. They are certainly very cute, though! Might need to go to the pet shelter and work with the cats to see if I’m allergic, and yet then the kids would beg for a cat!!!! 🤦‍♀️

    1. Thanks so much! Glad she’s better now but of course it’s good to check and make sure what’s wrong.

Haha well, then you could get a cat who would be friends with the dogs!

  5. I like the quote! I am so jealous of your weather. It’s cold and raining here, haha! I love kittens so much, but my husband’s allergic, so we stick to dogs.

    1. Thanks! Lol don’t be it’s just too hot. I feel dehydrated all the time and sweaty which is gross 😂 That’s fair, dogs are cute too. I just like how low maintenance cats are.

  6. I liked the quote. I prefer cats to dogs, or I should say cats prefer me, lol. My Mom had a cat she rescued, but the cat did not like many people. My cousin named the cat Satan because it would hiss at him and try to bite him on the ankle when he would visit. He had dogs, so I think the cat was reacting to the scent of the dogs. It would always jump into my lap and start purring when I visited. Mom said I was only one of a few that could hold and pet the cat.

    1. Aw that’s sweet. I think cats are very particular even in general. My mums cat hated me but other cats love me. They are just very picky about who they like and who they will be around. I kind of like that since I’m that way too lol.

  7.     Hmm, the cat that walked away you say. The exceptional animal is the most interesting but it’s a shame that they are never explained. I once met what looked like a dog that was auditioning for ‘the Exorcist’ the way it moved its head. It was a block away with its owner in front of me. They were walking away from me. The dog stopped and with its body still facing totally forward, it turned its head all the way around backwards to look at me. I stopped and let the owner pull it along further away. They got all the way to a far intersection where I thought it could not smell or hear me. It stopped and turned its head all the way around again exorcist style. I waited until they turned the corner and went down a different street. I waited. When I got to the corner they had gotten far away down the intersecting street. And yup, it turned its head all the way around backwards while the body faced forward. The owner was oblivious and I wasn’t in the mood to catch up to have a conversation.
        (2) Along the beach in an area where people often drop food, I used to walk through flocks of pigeons walking on the ground and they always didn’t mind and just moved enough for me to walk through without a problem. They only spooked and took off when a dog approached. One day I observed that there were no dogs around and I was walking towards them as usual. I was very hungry because I had overspent my budget and didn’t have enough to eat. As soon as I thought about eating one of them and wondering about how one would cook them, and whether they were safe to eat, the whole flock took off into the air. There were no dogs or people around at all.

  8. Wow hope Nairobi is treating you well, besides the heat.
I think it has been generally hotter these days, atleast in Uganda.
I almost forgot to say that, you are now my neighbour.😊😊

    1. Thanks, yeah Nairobi has been great despite the heat. I have some cousins in Uganda who were telling me the same thing. I think it’s been really hot in East Africa in general this time.
Oh yeah, that’s right we’re neighbours now 😊

  9. I haven’t watched You yet, but always heard good things about it. Do you have a tiktok account? No pun intended 🙂

  10. I haven’t watched “you” and I would like to watch it. There are so many interesting shows, but you always have interesting recommendations. And love the quote, but often we don’t have the chance to be faithful to ourselves since life is making so much noise to distract us from the real important thing…

    1. “You” is one of my favourite shows of all time. It’s quite twisted but in a good way if that makes sense.
True, life always seems to get in the way.

  11. I can be a very difficult person and refuse to watch things with annoying fans (unfortunately a lot of stuff). The hype kind of died down but I’ve never gotten into it.

I like the quote you added, it’s sweet.

  12. You always share such inspirational quotes, I thank you for sharing and I am not familiar with the program you talked about but it sounds like one I would like to watch
