Quote Of The Day:

Quote Of The Day

What’s Up With Pooj?

I wish I hadn’t created this section because now I feel pressured to have something going on in my life lol. Just kidding. But seriously tho…

Anyway, I didn’t do much today and slept in. So not much is up with Pooj, I guess. But that’s not a bad thing. I had a very long day yesterday and I think I needed the rest. So today, I’m just going to be working most of the day.

My parents and I watched “Ticket To Paradise” and it was quite nice. It’s a typical rom-com and a bit cheesy sometimes but nice overall. Like it’s a good movie if you’re in the mood for a rom-com. I’m looking forward to watching the end of You which will come out in a few days. It’s exciting. I don’t know why but I just love that show so much. I mean I do, it’s the murder and violence. For a self-proclaimed pacifist I really do enjoy watching psychos murder people. But it’s not just the murder, I think it’s that I can relate to Joe in some ways (not the murderous ways of course!).

Anyway, talking of murder. I reviewed a book some time ago called The Housemaid and mentioned how much I enjoyed it. Well the sequel just came out today and I am so excited to read it. The first book had some shocking twists and I am hoping this one has the same.

  1. We all go a little mad sometimes, Pooja. I finished my first couple reads of 2023, so taken a short break from reading. Spending time outdoors, completing chores. it feels so nice outside this time of year!

  2. Live in the sunshine
    Swim in the sea
    Drink the fresh air
    Smell the wild tree
    Come to Ukraine,
    Stay if you may.
    See the lilac bloom
    Once in the blue moon.
    Touch the blue sky,
    Taste cherry pie,
    Meet my old friends,
    This is romance.

  3. Love the quote – Emerson is one of my favorites! I have the book you recommended on order, but it hasn’t come into the library yet! 😔. Have you watched “Only Murders in the Building” yet? It’s super well acted and I absolutely fell in love with it. It too, has twists and turns. Marvelous!

  4. Beautiful quote to read. It’s good to take a break off and on to get ourselves rejuvenated and refreshed. Rest is also good for our physical and mental health. Nothing is more healing than spending time with parents.
Yes, you had reviewed The Housemaid, not a very long ago. “Murder” has become a motif now in your blog posts. LOL! Mystery thrillers definitely have their own attraction once you have developed a taste for such novels. Great going, Pooja.

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, I think it’s important to take some time off as well. We need that.
Lol, yes too many of my posts are about murder now, I need to dial it back before I get kicked off WordPress.
      Thanks!

  5. This blog is called as Quote of the day, but I don’t see any Quote, when there’s what’s up with Pooj 🤣
Glad to know that you took some rest. Sometimes I feel that you are Machine or something, because you’re always moving.
I’m surprised that you watched rom-com. But then later you talked about something else, so I guess that’s more of your taste 😝
    Take care PG ☺️

      1. Rest well buddy!
I refrain from rom com because they often make me upset and make me realize that I’m single 🤦🏻‍♂️
These days I’m watching a lot of Korean stuff.
While you eat Korean food. I watch Korean stuff.
        🤪

  6. I remember your review of The housemaid and I still have that book on my wishlist. Waiting for my exams to get over so that I can read it!!!
The way you’re so active on all social media and blog daily, it’s obvious to have nothing to say at times. Take rest and don’t take much pressure, after all, bogging is meant to be fun!!!

    1. Let me know when you read it, I’m sure you’ll love it!
Thanks and yeah I get pretty exhausted and feel like I need some time off each week.

  7. I’m doing some writing then I’m off to suck in some wild air!! Tread some nutrifying soil!! Drink in the green expanse of wonder!! And then return to do some more writing!!
    A great day mapped out!

  8. Those nubile rom-com watchers will
die in the over-promising of sun-made dried up hope,
trying to swim to the Emersonian sweet air, but
those promises of safety from the D.A. are futile
because I am in the wild air, heir apparent to
the greatest psychopath of all time, who like
King Neptune will drown you in sorrow where
tears make oceans, and laments are futile

Laughter is good, but fair warning:
be careful that the catharsis of
    the fantasy murder, doesn’t become
what I desire which is the intrusion
into rom-com of murderous jealousy and rage:
the groom will be dead, and I

will carry the bride to hell.

    Yes, this is a comedy.
    Ha! or not.

    1. Well with murder you always have to be careful you only enjoy the shows/movies/books and not the act itself. Sometimes comedy is just reality disguising itself…

  9. I enjoyed reading this post and all the others I had missed over the weekend, I am caught up I think with all that you shared and enjoyed every post that I read

  10. I recently read The Housemaid!! Didn’t know it was going to be a series. I loved the entire book other than the ending. The ending was… kinda eh. I think I just have really high expectations from thrillers. Have you read ‘Rock Paper Scissors’? I loved that book!

    1. My feelings were the opposite lol. I didn’t like the beginning of The Housemaid because it was a bit slow but once it picked up I loved it. Yeah, the end wasn’t the best lol.
No, I haven’t but thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check it out!

  11. Oh, I was just reading some write-ups about “You” the show and book. The author said it’s based on the Romantic Comedy formula and trope. Interesting how that can be done with a dark side. Comical obsessions and the harmless chase of Romantic Comedy turned around. That must be difficult to write.

  12. That was a good quote. And Ticket to paradise, my sister and I saw it. I thought it was pretty good. We both like George Clooney and Julia Roberts though. I can also understand accepting a day to just rest or whatever. Sometimes you just need a day like that.

  13. If Pooja is going to review the horror stories, then I have no reason to skip them.

    I appreciate this quote.
    You have designed it beautifully.
Fonts, colours and the background are matchable creating a common theme.
