My First YouTube Video

It’s officially here! My first YouTube video! Now before I share that video, I have some things I need to get off my chest about it.

As you may know, I have been procrastinating a little when it comes to this video. The truth is, I was recently diagnosed with a medical issue and that issue causes my face to swell sometimes. As someone who has had issues with body image, this tends to cause havoc for me. I feel insecure and ugly. My face has been more swollen lately and that was making me insecure and not want to shoot the video. But yesterday, I thought enough is enough. I’m going to shoot the video and if I look a little bigger that’s fine. I love myself as I am whether I’m bigger or smaller.

With pictures, I’m able to control the lighting and angles and etc. But not so much in videos. So that’s going to take some getting used to. But since I’m on a journey to love myself I think this is going to help me love and accept myself.

Now back to the video. Thank you everyone for your lovely questions. I haven’t answered some which I want to save for another video about blogging. So my apologies for that. But that should be out soon. This video is less inclusive of my blogging followers but in the future I’ll make videos related to my blog post so you can both read the post and watch the video. Depending on your preference because I know many of my followers prefer reading posts instead of watching videos.

The volume may be a bit low so please listen at a higher volume. And without further ado, here is my first YouTube video:

  1. Congratulations on your first video! Please don’t feel insecure! I know exactly how you feel. I had an issue where my face would spasm and twitch. it is/was a nightmare. It will get better and you will get through it!

    1. Thank you so much. I’m sorry about your issue too, I’m sure that’s difficult too but of course things do get better and we learn to accept ourselves more.

  2. I love that you’re learning to love yourself and your courage to just do it and be brave for yourself. Sometimes, those steps of courage are more meaningful than the actual finished product. ❤️

  3. Congrats on your first video! I loved it and you’re beautiful! I subscribed and look forward to more videos and reading more blog posts 😊

  4. I love history! I enjoy learning about other people and their values, cultures etc. I also don’t really care about getting married lol. Congrats on your first video. I actually tried creating a Youtube channel years ago. it didn’t really work out, yet I’m glad I tried at least 🙂

    1. Thank you so much. I’m the same way! Haha that’s okay, I feel like YouTube isn’t for everyone and I probably won’t post that often either.

  5. Congratulations and I don’t see swelling. And I hope it is not really serious and you will be back to normal. I have several health issues to struggle through every day and it is manageable–that’s what I can say. Anyway, nice video and one of the questions about what you like to write and what you think your readers want to read. I think about that question a lot too. And WP friend question is really nice. I have to say sometimes I even feel that WP friends are more open than my real life friends. LOL.

    1. Mine is thankfully manageable too. Thanks so much. Yes, it’s like that for me too. I sometimes feel like I’m more open and honest with WP friends than in real life.

  6. First, my friend I have to say, having a little insight that you’ve shared about yourself, I’m absolutely proud of you for having the courage to put yourself out there in a video. Bravo!! Albeit I’ve proven myself wrong in the past but I’m not sure I could or would dare. Seriously, I’d rather skydive again, first. lol
I’m sure this is just another stepping stone in your progress to achieve your goals. Well done, Pooja!
As for me, as long as I’m immersing myself and following my passion, my legacy is none of my business and I won’t be around to complain about what or how others define my legacy anyways.

    1. Thank you so much. That really means a lot to me. It was pretty scary putting this video out there but hearing everyone be so kind made my day.

  7. That’s a good self interview, you are growing! I’ll definitely leave a hi in the comments. Wishing you all the best in your YouTube experience.

  8. Oh wow, so brave of you! First of all, I have to tell you that you look wonderful!
Great video, I’ve learned so much about you!
Cats definitely, although I’m allergic to them😅 And yeah, there is something mysterious in the purple.
Amazing job, looking forward to more videos, especially those about blogging 😃

    1. Thank you so much! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed the video. Oh wow, that sucks, are you allergic to all animals or just cats?

      1. No, only to cats. Ironically, I grew up with them. Only when I moved out from my family home I became allergic. So every time I go to visit my mom (this is her second cat) I sneeze and have to take antihistamines. Yes, that’s the story 😃 We also had a dog, just for the record 🤗

        1. Oh wow, that’s so crazy that you developed that allergy right after moving. Aw that’s nice I’ve always wanted dogs and cats.

  9. I’m feeling glad for you dear friend.
    I waited for this.
Such videos will give everyone an opportunity to know about their favorite blogger.
I’ve learned few things about you through that 27:53 minute video.
1: Now it’s sure that you are not an AI. I’ve heard you before on your last Q & A(podcast). Now I know how you sound.
Btw, I hope your cough goes away. Take equal quantity of cumin seeds and Fenugreek seeks and boil it in 2 cup of water and boil until 1 cup remains. Then drink it along with honey. Cough killer. 🙂
That’s a tip for my favorite blogger for giving me shout out 🦖
2: You mentioned that you know many languages. I didn’t know you know Gujarati and hindi 😀. This means that your roots are gujrati? 🤔. It’s my neighbouring state.

You are a fun person. I love how you handled those questions calmly.
I enjoyed the video and will look forward to learn more.

    1. But I wonder if you can take honey 🤔
I don’t think it counts as vegan 🙄

Other than that you also have sitopaladi churna (available in market) and turmeric milk. Chew on some cardamom 🙌🏻

      1. Yeah, I don’t take honey but I do drink turmeric milk etc when I have a cough. Luckily this went away after the video for whatever reason lol.

        1. I think your cough was testing you if you are serious for this thing or not.
          Obviously you passed 😀
I’m glad that you are now doing well.
Do you believe in taking ayurvedic treatment?

          1. Yes, I always prefer Ayurvedic medicine or treatments because I get really bad side effects from western medicine. I try to avoid it as much as I can.

    2. Thanks so much, I really appreciate your support for my YouTube channel. 😊
Actually my cough magically disappeared after that video. I have no idea what happened and was so surprised. It seemed to just have come back for the video lol 😅
Yes, my mum and my paternal grandfather and both from Gujarat. So we all speak Gujarati 😊 I guess we are neighbours in a way 😜

      1. Always buddy!! You will have my support always 🤜🏻
I was super excited for the video.
        Thanks for doing it 🙏🏼
I’m waiting to see what’s next from LFW
How are you feeling after finally making that video?
        Was the one take??
Well yeah, I’m from Rajasthan. 😁

        1. Yes, it was one take and I’m happy now that it’s done. It’s sort of like ripping the bandaid. The first one is always most difficult. Now I feel more confident about making more videos.
Yes, I remember you saying you’re from Rajasthan but I didn’t know it was close to Gujarat 😊

          1. Well, you did a great job.
You were facing so many issues, but you completed it in 1 take. I’m happy for you.
I can feel confidence through your voice. And, I think after few videos you’ll get more comfortable with it. ☺️
Audio video medium connects with the person even better.

  10. You’re gorgeous, Pooj! As someone with image issues I know that isn’t going to suddenly make you change your mind about yourself, but just wanted to let you know that you look like a perfectly normal woman capable of running a successful YouTube channel. 😊

It’s always fun to put a voice and “animation” to a face you’ve seen for years, too. I’m excited for this new adventure for you.

    1. Thanks so much. Yeah, I’ve struggled with body image too and I think sometimes I’m a little harsh on myself. I’m excited about this too 😊

  11. Congrats on the first video, I subscribed to your channel!! 💗 It was so nice hearing your voice and getting to know you more ☺️ You did awesome and you looked lovely! 🥳 I hope you have fun in your new YouTube journey, wishing you the best. We’re here to support you! 💗

    1. Thank you so much, I so appreciate that! 😊 So far, it’s been quite fun creating my YouTube channel and the content for it. And all the support has meant a lot 💕

  12. You are not puffy, you are beautiful. Our own self image is always like looking into a carnival mirror. Blessings.

  13. Hi Pooja, and thanks for sharing your first YouTube video! I enjoyed listening to all your answers. I didn’t think you sounded nervous; you sounded confident and authentic in your sharing about yourself. It was great to get to know more about what interests you. Great work!

  14. You did really good with your video. I don’t know if I could ever get the courage to do one. I don’t even like talking on videos to my family. LOL And you look beautiful.

  15. Congrats on your first video! I loved learning more about you and having your thoughts on all sorts of subjects! Looking forward to the next one!

  16. First of all Many many congratulations🎉👏👏 Pooja on your first video and I really hope that you’ll grow a lot!
