I Guess It’s June Already?

june 2023 calendar

I honestly can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. I can’t believe it’s June already. It seems that the older we get the faster time seems to pass.

I had a pretty uneventful month of May. Although there were some ups and downs. But I think that is to be expected no matter what month it is. I was happy to get back to my usual almost no oil diet. I usually have oil like maybe once a week or every two weeks. And I’m feeling really good with that so far.

As for June, I don’t have too many plans yet. But I know that this month I really want to concentrate on my physical and mental health more.

I got some medical tests done and there were a few issues last year when I did the same test. The main thing was that my thyroid (TSH) levels were quite high. That’s actually what prompted me to change my diet and lifestyle. And after about five months of making changes and living healthier, I am happy to report that the TSH levels are back to normal now. I wanted to avoid medication if I could since I always have side effects (I’m really sensitive to most medications) and I’m happy I could do that. With a lot of help from my mum.

How was your May? What have you been doing? Any plans for June? Anything exciting going on in your life? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. I can’t believe we’re in June either, feels like just yesterday I was complaining about the 90 days of January. June month is going to be a packed month for me as I have two sets of work training to complete.

  2. I am happy you are getting better with your TSH levels, it’s great news. I started taking Zinc as my mother prompted me for weeks now. It helps I should say. We are experiencing hot weather here in Oregon and it makes me feel content, Rose Festival is in full swing and soon I am starting to teach art in the park sessions. I have some great plans for the month of June, and i will let you know a bit later, not to jinx it, ha-ha

    1. Zinc is really good. My sister (she’s a nutritionist) also recommend I start taking zinc supplements too to help with my insomnia.
That sounds lovely. Hope everything goes great with teaching art at the park. And I’m excited to know what you have in store for June.

  3. Glad to hear your TSH levels are back to normal! I have had a relatively eventful May and am so happy it’s over. Well, my birthday was in May, so it wasn’t all that bad 😂

  4. ” TSH levels are back to normal now. I wanted to avoid medication if I could since I always have side effects (I’m really sensitive to most medications) and I’m happy I could do that. ”
Sooo happy for you and proud of you Pooja!!! 💗Yes❣️

    1. Thank you! That’s why I loved what you said in your book about this topic because I truly believe that cure isn’t always the answers and prevention is more vital 💖

  5. I would like to learn more how your controlled thyroid levels Naturally?

You shared a guest blog about weight lifting recently. Would you consider lifting weights in near future? 🙂

Good thing is you get tested regularly. Something most people should understand.
Getting tested tells more about our internal body. Like you learned about your TSH levels & took the wise step.

You take care buddy 🍏 🥒🫘

Also, before you share your next post and I feel like “hey I was just thinking about it” (because it has happened with me 3-4 times).
I’m waiting for a post from you about SEO or anything that can teach us some WP. Your wisdom is vital 🌷

    1. I basically cut out oil, eat vegan and my sister is a nutritionist so she helped me create the perfect diet plan for me.

Lol never, I’m not someone who would be interested in weightlifting 😅

Yeah, I like to get tested every year to make sure everything is okay. Better to catch things early.

I want to do an advice post soon but they take a while to research so it takes a while to create 😑

      1. Well I thought you will share it tomorrow
So I wanted to be the first to express that I’ve been waiting so that it doesn’t look like I’m just saying it randomly 😅
Last time I was waiting for part 2nd of ostrich farm and you posted the next day. I almost forgot to mention that the day prior to that 😆

She’s a nutritionist? Ohhh I’m interested. Why you never mentioned that before? 🤩

Getting tested annually is a good practice.

        1. Haha well, now I know 😅

My sister isn’t practicing nutrition at the moment but two of her degrees are in nutrition and life coaching.

          1. Looks like I can bother her for some knowledge.
I didn’t know she can potentially give me knowledge based on nutrition 🤩

Well, I’ll wait of your advice post 🙇🏻‍♂️🙂

  6. Veganism helps with thyroid problems????? Shooot.👀👀👀 Does it help with other things like hormones??? I might have to really really try for a plant based diet then!

Anywho, my May sucked, but it’s over with and out of site, out of mind.😎

I have no plans for June and currently am thinking up something now.

    1. Vegan diet helps a lot….

I know so many people who have shared that how their bad cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure levels came in controlled numbers with vegan diet.

But it has to be permanent, I mean you cannot just stay vegan for a month then switch back. Vegan diet is about lifestyle choices.

    2. Yeah, veganism helps with lots of stuff. I don’t know if this happens for all vegans but all my food intolerances went away after going vegan. However, it’s not just veganism. It’s eating healthy that helps. I think you can still be unhealthy while vegan so you have to be careful.

Lol, hope June is better 😅

      1. Yeah, I know I definitely would be an unhealthy vegan (veganism is fine, but I question my eating choices and mental health and probably end up eating the same foods and starving myself).😩

        I’d prefer a plant-based diet instead.

        And, thank you.☺️

  7. nice article. ill leave my thoughts…

  8. Hi Pooja,
I’m waiting for my exam results: regular exam of college and competitive exams.
Our summer vacations are declared between 2nd june to 18th June.
I’ll ultimately focus on the studies. I need to cover a large amount of syllabus.
Not completing syllabus has caused, enough loss, in the competitive exams.
I generally make monthly plans. In the month of June I’ll make a list of some Dos and Don’ts.
It’ll be about 1) eating habits, 2) thinking and implementation balance,3) sleeping patterns, 4) productivity, 5) self-talks and evening walks, and 6)‘transition to the rainy season’ etc.
My best wishes to us: you, me, your readers, and everyone.✨✨

  9. Yes, time flies. Not a while ago, we were welcoming the new year and now half year is about to pass. This is the dilemma of our times, so much to do in a little time. Always racing against time, and still not happy.

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, I get tested every few months to make sure everything is okay since thyroid issues run in our family.

  10. Congratulations on your TSH levels being normal. Glad you are doing better by being healthier about what you eat. Well May was good for me. I prepared for college, it was a lot of work though but I got through it. This month came so fast. I can’t believe how this year is going by so fast. Well, I will be starting my classes hopefully on the 26th of this month. I am waiting on my advisors to contact me about that and a few other things. All in all I am very excited. Keep doing what you’re doing to stay healthy, I am proud of you.

    1. Thanks so much. This year is really flying by fast. Yes, you’ve been so busy these past month with college and good luck with the next phase of that. And let me know how it’s all going.

  11. Thyroid– happy your new health practice is helping to bring the level back to normal. Wonderful. Keep doing what you’re doing and hooray to your Mom for her presence. Those little nuggets in your throat are vital. Please stay healthy, dear Pooja.

May was a busy month for me. I read a lot. Glorious Month. But I was even busier in April with it being poetry month and all. Every month brings new adventures. I hope June and July remain healthy months and stress free for you and me too. Blessings to you from Japan. xoxo

    1. Thank you so much. Will definitely continue with this diet since it’s been extremely helpful.

April was a lot busier for me too, but mostly with work. Have a great June too and enjoy summer. I hear summers in Japan are lovely.

  12. Congratulations on a healthy thyroid! I always had issues too, but thanks to becoming vegan two summers ago, now I have a healthy thyroid!
I’ve also cut down on oil tremendously. I now stir fry vegetables in water. I even made a water base soup yesterday with a ton of spices.
Keep up the great work 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! That’s amazing. Vegan diets can be really helpful but of course it’s important to eat healthy. It’s easy to eat unhealthy even when eating vegan.
I do the same, most things are cooked using water or shredded coconut. It doesn’t taste bad at all and I actually prefer some foods without oil.

  13. Time has truly flown this year, it’s incredible it’s already June! No plans, except for the resolution of catching the opportunities to enjoy this great weather

  14. It’s good to hear you are getting better. Taking care of mental and physical fitness should always be a priority.
After getting back from holidays and getting happily stuffed with tasty unhealthy food by my relatives who are amazing cooks, I am now even more determined to get back on my exercise routine in the month of June. 💪

    1. Thanks so much.

Glad you had a fun holiday and hope you can get back to your exercise routine this month. Happy June 😊

  15. Thanks for sharing! Getting older sucks… So many health issues pop up as your body starts to wear out. I am glad to hear you got it under control. I have found there isn’t much we can’t do for ourselves if we are determined enough!!
I had a great month of May and looking forward to a great June. My oldest is getting married later this summer and I am so excited!
This summer I get to go out into my Community with absolutely no fear and rebuild my social skills that have been slowly coming back the past few months. I get to enjoy the peace of mind I have gained and can finally relax and just enjoy living for a change without the hypervigilance I have lived with for so long. It is a glorious feeling!

    1. Yeah, getting older is definitely tough.
Wow, congratulations to her in advance. That’s wonderful. I’m sure the wedding will be lovely.
      Have a wonderful June!

  16. Isn’t it cool that you can reverse many diseases with diet changes? I did the same thing with gout which means I also prevented diabetes. Glad your results improved and I’m sure they’ll only continue to get better!

    1. Oh wow, that’s great. Diet and lifestyle changes make such huge changes and honestly prevention is always better than cute. So when possible you would rather prevent diseases while you can. Thanks!

  17. I know I am late to the party but time flies. You blink, and we are in another month, but awesome to hear your TSH levels are normal again :3 And I wish you the best on your lifestyle and wish you good will. And my May was pretty good, been blogging more, coding games, and having a good time.

    1. Absolutely, time really flies. I feel like it’s going faster these days. Glad May was good and have a great June. Thanks 🙂

  18. Happy June! I’m glad to hear that your TSH levels are normal and you feel a lot healthier. The weather has been really nice here in NY, so I’ve been planning a few getaways this summer.

    1. Thanks and sorry your month didn’t start out great. I guess the good news is that there’s plenty of time for it to get better 😊

  19. Try breaking routines, find new ways to do things, hike, jog, organise a catch-up zoom for forgotten friends….luckily, new experiences and accomplishing things slows time

  20. May was alright! I took a one month break from novel writing (which is a little unusual for me) and it was better than I anticipated. I got a Switch Lite & started playing Animal Crossing 🙂 I’m feeling a lot more rested & ready to tackle the Summer.

I hope you get to rest in the same way this June! Sending good thoughts for your health to improve.

    1. Yes, I love April and May the most when things turn green and flowers come back. However June, July and August is usually too hot. Well… I really should not be negative. Now whenever one says something negative, one needs to say three positive things. So about June, the positive things are: the temperature is good for growing veggies and rice; the inflation is slowing down; nobody is wearing masks anymore.

  21. Glad you’re feeling better, Pooja, and I can’t believe it’s June either! Half the year has flown by! I’m working on my book that will be released later this month. This is keeping me busy! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

    1. Thanks and yeah it’s crazy that it’s already June! Excited for your book, I know it’ll be great. Have a wonderful week too!

  22. Yes, time sure does go faster as we age. Good job on the thyroid management! Best to avoid medications if you can do well without them, I believe. But, if you need them, then by all means take them. I’m glad summer is finally here. I’ve been cycling a lot (180 km in the last week), even though the temperature has gotten up to 32C. Think I’m getting acclimatized to it.

Good luck with the continued focus on mental and physical health!

    1. I feel the same way. I would rather not take medication if I can help it but if I need it I will take it. I get tested every few months just to make sure everything is okay.
Oh wow, that’s great. I remember those 32C summers and not even wanting to leave my room lol.
      Thanks!

  23. So glad to hear that your TSH results are ok now! I had a lower TSH during my pregnancy, so I had to take medications. Didn’t have any side effects, but I agree with you; speaking of medications – less is more.
