What’s Up With Me?

Finally done with the pelvic ultrasound and everything is fine for anyone wondering. I know that’s good but like it means I need to do more tests which sucks. However, that being said the scan went surprisingly well. Like I didn’t even have to drink as much water as I thought I would have to. And sure, I felt like I was going to pee myself the entire time but since the cue wasn’t too long I didn’t have to wait much which was great.

In other news, I started reading Tess Of The D’Urbervilles and it’s actually really interesting. I finished one part quite fast. I used to be a really fast reader but I think I’m out of practice so it’s been taking me longer these days. But still, not bad. Although back in the day I would have finished the book in a few hours lol. Back when I read a few books a week but recently I’ve been reading like one book a month at best. Reading is something I want to get back into.

Were you a fan of Winnie The Pooh growing up? Have you read Tess Of The D’Urbervilles? Did you enjoy it? How was your week last week? Anything going on with you recently? Anything new happening this week? What are you plans for this week? Let me know in the comments below because I would absolutely love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. I read Tess back in 14. If you don’t mind, I’ll just link to my review:
    https://bookstooge.blog/2014/05/03/tess-of-the-durbervilles-a-pure-woman-classic/

short version, I gave it 1star. Not a fan of Hardy at all….

    1. I’ll definitely check out your review, that’s so interesting because I’m actually enjoying it so far.

  2. That’s good news re your scan, Pooja.

I love Winnie the Pooh, I even have my Mum’s books from when she was a girl. AA Milne was a favourite author of my grandfather’s.

As for Tess and other novels by Thomas Hardy, I wasn’t (aren’t) a fan. However, I am a fan of his poetry. He was a great observer, which his stories clearly show, and wrote some very compelling poems.

    1. Thank you so much.

That’s so nice, A.A. Milne is great.

I see, I’ll definitely check out his poetry. This is the first thing I’m reading by him but I like the book. Don’t love it but like it.

  3. His quotes are awesome. My kids loved Winnie The Pooh growing up! I used to tell them that Winnie really was made of pooh. 😂

  6. My contribution:
What I call my ‘self’ now is hardly a person at all. It’s mainly a meeting place for various natural forces, desires, and fears, etcetera, some of which come from my ancestors, and some from my education, some perhaps from devils. The self you were really intended to be is something that lives not from nature but from God.
    ~C. S. Lewis

  35. A.A. Milne has profound quotes and I like the ones you shared in your post!! I read Tess of the D’urbervilles in high school, but reading it again sounds good. Lately, I’ve been reading a lot of young readers’ fiction along with my kids: Hatchet is awesome.

    1. Thanks so much!
Tess is quite interesting although tragic. That sounds fun, will check out Hatchet.

      1. Hatchet will be a fast read, but there’s so much to take away from it. Very well written and insightful about survival and nature.

        1. Short books often have so much insight. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.

  36. Congrats on having a good ultrasound and no issues!! Getting through those appointments are so stressful, but glad it’s behind you and you got good results. Yay!

    1. Thanks so much, so true it’s stressful but had to be done!

  37. Love the quotes, Pooja, and I’m glad the test came back fine, but sorry you have to go through more. My reading pile is growing because I’m behind on reading, and I’m trying to write reviews too. 🙂 Anyway, take good care! 🤗

    1. Thank you so much. I know how you feel, the TBR list just keeps growing 😅

  38. Love the quotes!! Awesome. Only thing is that they don’t actually show up when I first get your email. I can start reading your commentary, but the quotes don’t appear until I actually open up to like or comment. 😭

    1. Thanks so much! That’s so annoying idk why WP does that 😩

      1. Of course! I always open yours anyway!

        1. Aw, thank you! 😊

          1. You’re welcome 🤗!

  39. I’m happy to hear your tests went well. My sister is currently undergoing a lot of them after her pregnancy and they do not seem fun. I’m doing quite well actually. Writing my novel is going really well 🥰

    1. Thanks so much, I’m sorry she’s going through this too. Taking these tests is not easy at all.
That’s great, wishing you lots of success with your novel 😊

  40. Good to know the test wasn’t as bad as expected. Good luck with the rest. I liked the quotes a lot; the first one is a good reminder to value ourselves. Me, I’ve been busy with family and outdoor activities, and catching up on a lot of blogs I hadn’t read. Have a great weekend.

    1. Thanks so much. Luckily, I found out what the issue is which means I’m closer to solving it.
That’s great, hope you had a good time. Have a great weekend too.
