He was all I ever wanted. I remember daydreaming about him in high school. Writing his last name with my name and thinking it just looked perfect together. I wanted him more than anything in the world. Those dreamy hazel eyes, that perfect jawline. He was like a Greek God in the flash. But to be fair, I think all the girls felt that way about him.
Well, it’s easy to laugh now that so much time has past since the incident. You see, every morning we walked in hoping to see him there. Making jokes and effortlessly charming those around him. And then one morning he wasn’t there. And soon the police were searching for him. Until they eventually gave up. Now he remains just another unsolved mystery.
My best friend and I still talk about him ten years later, wondering what happened to him and if he was still alive. If only she knew the truth. He had been drunk after a party the night before he “disappeared” and was wondering the streets when I found him. He could have died or worse. Lots of weirdos out there, you know. I helped him get into my car and started driving as he quickly blacked out in the backseat. Seeing him in that vulnerable state, I knew I had to protect him. Not just right now but forever.
I brought him back to my basement and of course at first he was terrified. Begged me to let him go. Yelled till he was hoarse. Thankfully, my mum was never really home. And when she was, she was exhausted and asleep. But eventually he learnt that I loved him and only wanted what was best for him. That him and I were meant to be together. Forever and always.
About “Forever And Always”:
Since it’s Halloween season I thought I would write something horror themed. Not too much, just a simple scary story. Let me know what you think of it in the comments below. Or simply stop by and say hi!
