I work in the night
To give spouses a fright
When they have been naughty
The police find their body
Sometimes they have a little “fall”
And sometimes no bodies are found at all
Tonight was a busy one
I can’t deny it was a little fun
When he begged and pleaded for his life
But I told him I was hired by his wife
“I’m not married,” he explained
Oops… Not this mistake again!
About “Just Another Quiet Night”:
Well, it’s still the spookiest month of the year. And for that reason I’ve been writing more horror/thriller themed poetry and short stories. I wanted to take a break from the really creepy stuff and so I wrote “Just Another Quiet Night” which has more of a funny twist at the end. Well, my kind of dark humour funny more than haha funny. I guess I just love writing things with surprise endings.
In other news, I rewatched The Addams Family today which is one of my favourite Halloween movies. I just love all of them so much. I loved Wednesday (the TV show) too but it pales in comparison to the original movie. The movie is just a classic and the actors and actresses are so perfect for their roles.
What did you think of this poem? Are you ready for Halloween? What are some of your favourite Halloween movies? Is The Addams Family one of them? Let me know in the comments section below because I would absolutely love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!
