My Goals For 2024

My Goals For 2024

My Goals For 2024

Since this is my first post of the year, I thought I would share my goals for 2024. I say goals and not resolutions because I think the word “goals” describes these better.

Publish My First Book

This is my biggest goal of the year. To publish my first book. It’s terrifying but also exciting.

Master The Art Of Playing Guitar

I want to end the year by being able to play the guitar as well as Slash. Lol kidding, but I would like to practice more and get better at playing it.

Connect With My Inner Child

I pushed away my inner child for so long. It sucks but I did what I had to in order to protect us both. However, I am learning to communicate with my inner child and do things that I wish I could have done when I was younger but was never able to. I want to continue to connect with my inner child in 2024.

Care Less

No, not careless. Read that again. Care less. I’ve talked about this before but I’m a recovering pushover and people pleaser. This year, I want to care less about what others think of me and continue to set strong boundaries and live my best life.

Shave My Head

This one goes along with the goal above. I’ve always wanted to shave my head at least once in my life but never did because I care too much what others think. This year, I want to just do it!

Try To Be Healthier

I think I was healthier than I have ever been in 2023 but I still have a long way to go to reach my health goals. In 2024, I want to try to be even healthier both with my diet and lifestyle.

Travel More

This is always one of my goals. I always want to travel more and see more places. One thing I really want to do is visit my bestie who recently moved to a different country.

Conclusion

So, these are my goals for 2024. Did you make any goals this year? If so, feel free to share them in the comments section located below. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  11. All the best this year, good luck with the book ! Your blog and content are always interesting 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, really appreciate you saying that 😊

  12. That is an outstanding list and I have a feeling you are going to absolutely crush it this year!
If you can get your guitar chops up, I’ll work on mine and maybe we can do a virtual jam session someday! lol

    1. I really hope so but I don’t know haha.

Oooh nice, that would be so fun lol!

      1. Stop it, you’re going to do fantastic!

I’ll start practicing now. Lord knows I need it LOL

        1. Aw thanks. Lol let’s keep practicing and see if we can improve.

          1. OK, sounds good. I will if you will! lol

            1. It’s a deal, let’s work on it together!

              1. You got it!

                1. We got it!

              2. Forgot to ask, do you have an acoustic, electric or both?

                1. Just an acoustic for now. What about you?

                  1. Very cool. What kind?
Electric. I have a few, but my mainstay is an Eddie Van Halen signature model that I got quite a few years ago.

                    1. Ooh nice, I’ve always wanted to play electric guitar but someone told me to start with acoustic. I think mine is like a regular acoustic guitar, I have no idea what the type is lol 🫣

                    2. Is there a name on the headstock?
I’ve heard that too, but two things: One, my mom had an electric, so that’s what I had to start with. Two, it has six strings and frets, so good enough for me LOL
They also say that if it sounds good on acoustic, it likely will on electric. True or not, I don’t know. I think the important thing is that you play and enjoy it no matter what kind it is!

                    3. Oh cool, does you mum play guitar? Yeah, I’ve heard that too but you’re right it’s all about having fun with it. I googled and it looks like a jumbo I think.

                    4. No, she doesn’t play anymore. She did when she was younger. She ended up getting into painting, quilting and stuff like that instead. I ended up with the guitar and amp and the rest is history as they say lol
Jumbo. Is that the brand? Never heard that one before.

                    5. Oh that’s cool, my mum loves are and stuff too. At least you got a free guitar out of it lol 😂

                    6. Yes, it was a good starter at least. She brought me to trade it in not soon after once she saw I was fairly serious about it lol

                    7. Oh nice, she seems so supportive.

                    8. Yes she is very much. I couldn’t ask for better. Especially considering what a pain I could be lol

                    9. Lol that’s sweet. Mothers can be a true gift.

  13. I hope you get to accomplish them all and more! Happy New Year

    1. Thanks so much, Happy New Year!

  21. I want them all for you. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much 🙂

  22. Ay, I want to read this book 😋 also, any chance of adding carrot dishes to these goals? 😜

    1. Thanks so much and no I don’t think that’s happening any time soon lol 🥕

  23. Thanks Pooja. Wishing you all the best in accomplishing these goals. My main goal this year is to “ Try Everything and to overcome the fear of failure “.

    1. Thanks so much and wishing you the best with that goal. That was one of my goals a few years ago and trying new things was the best. I love that it changed me forever.

      1. Thank you 🙏 that’s encouraging

        1. You’re very welcome 😊

  24. You have talked about setting boundaries before and I am very glad to see you making that a priority for this year. It is so important!

    1. Thanks so much, yes it’s something I have been really trying to get better at so hopefully it’s something I’ll improve with this year.

  25. Great goals. I hope you achieve them.

    1. Thanks so much.

      1. You’re most welcome 🙏🏼

  26. I love your goals, Pooja, and I am sure you will achive them.💖

    1. Thanks so much, really hope so. 😊

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja.

  27. I would just like to say that I would love to go camping four or five times this year. I figured out, camping is a wonderful way to explore nature, it is an enjoyable hiking exercise, an opportunity to learn basic survival skills, and meet interesting people.

    1. Oh that sounds so fun. I’ve never been camping but always wanted to try it. Hope you’re able to go multiple times this year as you hope.

  28. Wow, this is a good set of goals. Goals for the body and the mind and the spirit. I agree, goals is better than resolutions, which anymore is a term for something we will fail to do. The book goal is especially appealing, though I greatly appreciate your aims for your inner child and all of inner you. My goals are only immediate. I have to deal with a totaled car. While I don’t have a car, I have to deal with getting medications and running smaller errands and such. All of this is turning out rather complicated to accomplish. And the inner me? Well, I had to cancel what would have been my appointment with my spiritual director. Hopefully, I can reschedule soon enough. Sigh.

    1. Thanks so much. Yeah, I try to keep my goals well rounded because a few years ago I realised I was neglecting my mind and spirit. It’s all about balance.
Sorry about the car situation, hopefully things will go smoothly. Is there a way to get medications delivered? I don’t know what it’s like there but in Kenya some pharmacies deliver medications with no extra charge as long as you show them proof of the prescription.
Oh no, hope you can reschedule soon.

  29. Publishing a book is a big accomplishment

    1. Yeah, it’s going to be one of my biggest accomplishments if it happens. I’m hoping it will.

  30. All the very best for your goals and eagerly for your book👍👍👍

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  31. Wishing you all the best, Pooja.
(to say you got this… but then you know you do 😉)
    🤍🤗

    1. Thanks so much, haha I still appreciate it 😅

      1. most welcome, Pooja 🤗

  32. Best of luck with your goals, Pooja!

    1. Thanks so much!

  33. An inspiring list, Pooja! I believe in you! 📖👏🏻 Enjoy the journey!

    1. Thanks so much, really appreciate your support!

      1. Of course! You’re very welcome. 😊

  34. Great goals, and I wish you all the best in reaching those you can, and letting go of any that might be a bit beyond reach. My hopes for the year and my work will be centred on peace, joy, love and health.

    1. Thanks so much, really appreciate that. Your resolutions for the year are really great and hope you can achieve them too.

      1. You’re very welcome, and thank you, too.

        1. You’re very welcome as well.

      2. 🙏🏼

  35. its good to do things SCARED 😀 good luck this year!

    1. I agree, doing things despite being scared is a huge win 💪🏽

  36. I am a big advocate of making multiple stretch goals like yours seem to be. Contrary to the belief of some, my brother and I found that planting as many seeds of growth as possible gives you a much better chance of hitting big on something even if you do not complete everything in one year. I love your goals!

    1. Thanks so much! I’m the same way, statistically you’re way more likely to at least achieve some of your goals. Have a great year ahead.

  37. Good choices! Best of luck (though luck doesn’t come into it!)

    1. Thanks so much! I appreciate it although I don’t believe much in luck either.

  38. The nice thing about goals is we have all year to work on them, so our chances of success are greater! Even if we don’t work on them for a day, or a week, or a month, we know we can still motivate ourselves to get on it.

Resolutions get kicked to the curb the second we break one. We don’t even necessarily try to pull ourselves back up. It’s as if we’re expecting to fail, so when we do, we just give in to it, then we get on with the business of self-loathing!

Even if you partially complete your goals, these can be brought forward into the next year too, for they’re a work in progress! All the best to you, and Happy New Year!

    1. Yes, absolutely. We have a good amount of time to slowly work towards them. That’s the issue I have with resolutions, they don’t really work longterm. But goals are great, you get to keep working on them little by little.

Thanks and Happy New Year to you as well!

    Interesting blog!

    1. Thank you!

    2. Thank you so much!

  40. A very inspiring list of goals. I am sure you will accomplish them all. Maybe you will even get a call from a rock star for a guitar duet😀.

    1. Thanks so much. Ah a duet with a rockstar, that’s the dream 😄

  41. lol ignore my comment on your other post, I hadn’t seen this one yet. 😅

Learning an instrument is one of my goals too. Being healthier always is but that’s probably the hardest one.

    1. Which instrument are you learning? True, being healthy is so hard. It’s something I struggle with constantly.

      1. I started learning piano right before lockdown. I don’t practice much but I was taking lessons both online and in person. I got pretty good quickly because I’ve been writing music my whole life and have a basic grasp of how things are supposed to work, but once it came to using both hands to do different things at the same time, I could feel my brain pulling itself apart. 😂

        1. Ooh, piano is so impressive I don’t think I have the skill set for it lol. I get that, I can’t really concentrate on two things at once that well either. I mess up both 😣

  42. […] talked about my goals for the year on this post. I like to think of them as goals and not resolutions because some of them are more longterm. And I […]

  43. 👍👌🌹😊

  44. May you achieve all your goals, Pooja! ♥️

  45. I hope you will be able to fulfil your goals.

    1. Thank you so much.

  46. You are a brilliant person, and a brilliant writer, if no one has ever told you this, well, I am. You have done and accomplished so much since I have known you these past few years. You have so many blessings coming your way. Receive them all. I wish you all the best this year and in the years to come. Have a wonderful weekend.

    1. Thank you, I so appreciate that. That means the world coming from you. Hope you have an amazing year ahead as well.

      1. Thank you. You are a very talented person. You can do anything you set your mind to and don’t ever forget it.🌟

        1. Thanks so much- I truly do appreciate that.

          1. You’re welcome. I can only tell the truth.

  47. Solid goals. Happy New Year!

    1. Thanks so much. Happy New Year to you as well!

  48. These are great goals. I’ll definitely want to read your book whenever you publish it.

    1. Thanks so much, really appreciate your support.

      1. You’re welcome!

  49. Happy New Year! I really like your goals for 2024 and I should definitely take up some of them too! One of my goals is also to be healthier this year and incorporate some healthy habits into my daily and weekly routine. Hopefully I’ll manage to slowly build that up! It is so exciting that you want to publish your first book!! I’m looking forward to reading it for sure!

    1. Happy New Year to you as well! Eating healthier is always a good idea, hope you’re able to do that! I think it gets easier over time so don’t worry too much if it’s difficult at first. Thank you, I’m excited to publish it in a few months!
