Checking In With Everyone

I know I’ve been inactive for a few days now but to be fair, I did you give y’all a heads-up about that happening. However, I decided it was a good idea to be checking in with everyone and share a little update. Thankfully, I’ve gotten most of my work done and can ease back into blogging regularly. I’m glad it took less time than expected because I started to already miss blogging. I’m so used to sharing everything with you guys. In fact, so much has happened just in the last few days I haven’t posted. But I’ll keep it to myself because I want to share it in my next “Day In My Life” blog post and YouTube video.

This is totally random but I keep hearing about this movie Saltburn and really want to watch it. It sounds like the kind of psychological thriller movie I would enjoy. If any of you have seen it let me know in the comments what you thought of it and whether you would recommend it. People seem to really like it so I’m probably going to watch it at some point anyway but like on my own lol. If you know you know…

So, that’s it with me checking in. What have you been up to? How has your week been so far? Any fun things going on with you at the moment? Do you have any interesting plans for the rest of the week? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. We are expecting sub-zero temps over the weekend, so I am doing my shopping tomorrow and picking up ingredients to make a big pot of soup. There is just something comforting in a big bowl of chili with a grilled cheese sandwich on a cold winter day!

    1. Wow, that’s quite cold. Stay warm. Something warm is the best when it’s cold and chili is perfect for that!

  2. It’s nice to see you, Pooja! That is a movie I will never watch, it just creeps me out. Saltburn… Ouch. I would miss my friends here if I quit blogging.

    1. Thanks so much! Yeah, Saltburn is pretty disturbing so I wouldn’t recommend it. Your blogging friends would also miss you if you were to quit blogging ❤️

      1. That’s so nice. I’m not quitting. 🤙🏻

        1. That’s good, we need you here 😊

          1. Aww thanks! ❤️☺️

  3. It’s really cold in Canada. It’s going to get as low as -40°C without the windchill and -50°C with the windchill. I haven’t been productive this week because I’m cold. When I’m not hiding under blankets and trying to stay warm, I’m in the steam room or at a hot tub.

    1. Yeah, I heard it’s super cold right now. Definitely keep warm and make sure to drink lots of warm stuff!

    2. Where do you live? Ellesmere Island?
I don’t think the temperature has dropped below zero in Toronto for the past several days.

      1. I live in Calgary, Alberta. We are in the middle of an Arctic Vortex right now. It’s -31°C and confines to drop. It’s unusually cold even for Calgary.

  4. Hey Pooj, any book / movie recommendations are highly appropriated, don’t hesitate to mention those in your posts. We watched an absolutely stunning movie Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959), so amazingly well made. It’s almost like reading a book, I mean a novel.
This coming weekend we are going to celebrate old new year and it so happened that it’s finally going to snow for the first time. I’m excited!

    1. I would also recommend A Haunting In Venice, one of the best movies I’ve watched recently. Hiroshima Mon Amour sounds really great- I’ll check it out. Oh nice, have a fun celebration and I love the snow too!

  5. As always, Pooja, your post is fantastic! Your fresh movie recommendations are always worth watching; thank you 😊🤗🥰🙏

    1. Thank you so much! ☺️

  6. Havnt heard of that movie but will have to look into it.

    1. Yeah, I don’t know if it’s for everyone but I think if you like psychological thrillers you’ll really enjoy it.

  7. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or bad thing that you are back, now need to see more of your whining 😛
    Jk

Dude, I missed you, TBH, I am not using Wp, I am just ignoring other work and I’m coming back here after 2 days as I saw a notification about your post.

I was like yay, she’s back( although feelings are still mixed ).

I need that book, give me that book

    1. Haha thanks. Yeah, I’m back and done with the book. It’s with the editor now and out of my hands 😅

      1. I still trying to figure out its a good thing or bad that you are back.

Now, I have come here more often.

When can we expect to read it?

        1. Life is a bittersweet thing…

Not soon, it will take a few months to edit, proofread, format etc

          1. Give something atleast

            1. It’s a book with 100 poems…

              1. All yours??

Can we expect 100 people dying in them?

I want to see more of PooG as a poetess. I adore PooG as blogger and writer.

                1. Shockingly no one dies in them 😅

  8. I wish I could find something to stream that I like, I’ve been going back and forth between the latest Spiderverse and True Spirit…but there doesn’t seem to be anything that catches me right away….

    1. I’m rewatching some stuff because I’m not very excited about most of the things that came out recently. I’ve been meaning to watch Across The Spiderverse too- it sounds interesting.

      1. this morning is every Disney song I can find on YouTube…..a whole new world is on right now lol

        1. Love that one lol. And the Frozen ones.

  9. Not much new around here except a snowstorm that dropped about a foot of snow and then torrential rains the next day that melted most of it and caused flooding all over. lol

    1. Yeah, I heard it’s gotten quite cold recently. Oof, the rain just made it worse lol.

      1. Well, today it’s more like Spring outside, so go figure lol
        How are you, busy bee?

        1. Lol, the weather is so random these days even here in Kenya.
I’m good now that I’m blogging again- I missed it much more than I thought I would 😅

          1. Indeed. Today it is back to cloudy in the 30s. WTH…lol
And we missed you. Glad to see you back!

            1. Lol, so weird. Weather is unpredictable now.

              Thanks!

  10. What a great check-in, Pooja. Sounds like things are going your way this week.

It’s a busy week for me, withs of chores and thinking about two friends in hospital. Doing well though and hope you are too.

    1. Thanks so much.

Wow, so sorry to hear about your friends. I wish them a speedy recovery.

      1. You’re welcome and thank you very much.

        1. You’re so welcome.

  11. Hello Pooja! Thanks for checking in.
    Welcome back. 😍💐

    1. Hey, thanks so much! 😊

  12. Minus 28 tonight and minus 39 with the wind chill, so trying to stay warm. 🥶

    1. That’s insanely cold, definitely try to stay warm ❄️

  13. It’s good to know that you’ve managed to get most of your work done and are planning to get back to blogging.

    1. Thank you so much, yes I’m happy to be able to get back to blogging. It felt like something was missing without it.

  14. Really admire your commitment to blogging❤️ Saltburn? Psychological thriller? Well, if you recommend it, then I have to definitely see it.

    1. Thanks so much 😊 Saltburn sounds interesting but disturbing so I would recommend reading the plot first and seeing if it’s the right fit for you 😅

      1. Disturbing? I’ll read the plot first then. I can tell if I’d like it from there. Thank you!!!

        1. Yeah, I’d recommend that. You’re welcome!

  15. Hi Pooj,
Still ill with covid – annoying cough. No energy. Bummer.

    1. Oh no, that’s awful! Feel better soon!

  16. Welcome back! It’s nice to take a little mini-break but it’s always nicer to get that “coming back to the familiar” feeling 🙂

As for saltburn, one of the people I follow reviews movies and he has this to say about it:
    https://film-authority.com/2023/11/25/saltburn/

I know I will never be watching it.

    1. just as an fyi, WordPress automatically subscribed me to your blog (again, even though I already follow you) when I left that above comment. Might want to ask and see if that is happening to everyone. I suspect more WP shenanigans…

      1. Oh yeah, WP has been doing that for ages now (multiple readers have mentioned it) and every time I try to talk to them about it they just gaslight me so I stopped trying…

        1. Ahh, so it’s not a setting on your end. Good to know…

          1. Yeah, it’s just a glitch that won’t go away. And it works both ways, some people are unsubscribed and others are resubscribed. It’s so odd.

    2. Yeah, for sure. WordPress feels like home for me in a way, I’ve been here for almost a decade so I kept feeling like something was missing haha.

Saltburn is definitely not for everyone and probably for a very niche audience. I don’t know if I’ll like it but I think I’ll give it a try.

  17. never heard of it
    beekeeper
    with jason statham rather

    1. Ooh, I just saw a preview for Beekeeper.

      1. it is a must see . love jason.

        1. We love his movies too, they’re always great.

          1. he has a sly sense of humour. you can understand him too.

  18. Nice to see you back, Pooja. 💕📚

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  19. Good to see you back. I’m glad that your work is done.

    1. Thanks so much, I’m really glad too.

  20. I watched the first 10 minutes of Saltburn and it didn’t grip me, haha. That’s not a very fair assessment of a movie, and it might still be great.

I went to see Wonka last weekend and it was great! I don’t watch trailers or anything so I didn’t know what to expect but it was much better than I expected.

    1. Lol, yeah I heard it gets good but I don’t know. I’ll let you know how I like it.

That’s great, Wonka was a movie I have no expectations for since I’m not a fan of Timothee Chalamet’s acting but glad you enjoyed it.

  21. Hey! Glad you are back. Well, it’s been sunny, rainy, and cold here in Texas, but you can’t ever tell about this weather. It’s constantly changing. Right now it’s foggy and cold. Yesterday it was sunny and cold. I wonder what it’s going to be like at the end of the day. I can’t wait to read your book. Let us know when it hits Amazon and any other bookstore where it will be sold. Still studying. I am studying a Digital Literacy course in my program, and it is not so easy. I just hope and pray I pass the exam. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week.

    1. Thanks so much. Oh I see, I think we have similar weather here right now. Cold and rainy and sometimes sunny. Will definitely let everyone know when it is published. Good luck with your exam and will definitely be praying that you do well in it. Have a great week too.

      1. Thank you. I appreciate it.

        1. You’re very welcome.

  22. I am glad you checked in with us, Pooja. We’re expecting below freezing temperatures for the next few days. Brr

I am finally able to access my blog after almost 2 days. I feel the FSE themes are too glitchy, and switched to a hybrid theme. It seems things are running much smoother now. Have a fantastic week. 💖

    1. Thanks so much. Wow, that’s quite cold. Stay warm.

That’s annoying but glad it’s okay now. That’s the issue I see most often with FSE themes and why I encourage my clients to stick with hybrid themes. The FSE ones just cause too many issues especially over time.

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja, and you’re right about the FSE themes.

  23. I might check it out, i have to finish Oldboy and Sleep first lol!

    1. Let me know what you think of it if you decided to watch Saltburn!

  24. Nice to see you back, Pooja! I’m working on finishing a short story this month.

    1. Thanks so much! Oh that’s great, hope everything is going well with it.

      1. Slowly making progress!

        1. That’s great!

    Glad things are progressing well.

    1. Thanks so much.

  26. Just trying to get better. The doc thinks it’s walking pneumonia. Fun!

    1. Oh no, that’s awful. I really hope you get better soon. Try to stay warm and get lots of rest.

  27. All is good at my end. I’m glad your project is going well and quickly. Hugs, C

    1. Glad all is good with you as well and thanks so much.

  28. Watching Saltburn now.

    1. Did you enjoy it?

      1. Didn’t get very far – not for me.

        1. That’s fair, it’s not for everyone.

  29. Lol, knew you’d be back to us sooner than later 😋
Glad you are and that all is going well, Pooja 🤍

    1. Hehe yeah, I can’t seem to stay away from WP 😅

      Thanks so much 😊

      1. more than welcome 🤗

  30. My wife and I watched “Saltburn” a few weeks ago. Barry Keoghan is well suited for the role he plays because he’s an actor who’s face you can never read. It’s a creepy movie with a nasty sting at the end.

    1. It sounds pretty interesting, I’ll be watching it this weekend.

  31. I can summarize my first few days of January in 3 words – work, exercise, blogging. ✌️

    1. That sounds fun 😀

  32. I’m sure you’ll have some nightmares to report after this movie.. 🤪 I’ll wait to hear.. you know I don’t do well with those.💕🌹😹

    1. Lol, I’m sure I will 😅😜

  33. This is a wonderful check-in, Pooja. And it’s great to hear that you’re doing well and your book is on its way. I can’t wait! I am preparing for a podcast that I was invited to be on, and I’m working on my next book, my first children’s book. Take care and have a good weekend!

    1. Thanks so much! Oh wow, that’s so nice. Hope the podcast goes well and that everything is coming along with the children’s book. Take care too and hope you have a great week ahead!

  34. Welcome back! Missed your updates. Excited for the “Day In My Life” post. Saltburn sounds intriguing—definitely share your thoughts after watching! 😊

    1. Thanks so much! I shared the “Day In My Life” post recently if you want to check it out: https://lifesfinewhine.ca/2024/01/12/a-day-in-my-life-such-a-crazy-day/
And will definitely share my thoughts on Saltburn soon!

  35. Great check in! Life has been busy busy busy and I’m trying to keep up.

    1. I totally understand, life gets so busy sometimes!

      1. Ughhhh girl it’s lifen right now

        1. Sorry, hope you get some more free time soon!

  36. I have heard about Saltburn but haven’t seen it yet either, I need to look into this.

    1. Yeah, it’s been really popular recently so most of us have heard of it. I plan to watch it this weekend.

  37. I have not seen salt burn but I don’t know if I’d watch it on my own! I’m a bit of a wimp lol!

    1. It’s really creepy and messes with you psychologically so I would definitely not recommend watching it alone like I did lol!
