Weird Facts About Me

I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while because you know… I’m a weird person. And I thought you may get some enjoyment from my weirdness lol. Anyway, here are some weird facts about me:

I Can Only Eat Small Things In Twos

I like to eat things in twos. It’s hard to explain, not everything needs to be eaten in twos but some stuff does. I’m not crazy just hear me out. For example, if I’m eating a macadamia or a cashew I need to eat them two at a time. Like one on each side of my mouth. I know it’s weird but it just tastes better that way…

Holes Freak Me Out

Clusters of holes freak me out. Well, it disgusts me more than scares me. I believe it’s called Trypophobia. When I look at clusters of holes it makes me want to peel off my skin. I’m not even exaggerating. I don’t know why but I hear it’s a really common phobia.

Not A Fan Of Water

I don’t like water, in particular large bodies of water. And I don’t like how water feels on my skin either. I don’t know why because I love taking showers but baths make me feel gross. Or if I step out of the shower I feel gross during those few minutes when you’re wet but not in the shower. I don’t know how to properly explain this one either but water just gives me the ick I guess.

I’m Double-Jointed

I’m double-jointed but like very double-jointed. My foot goes all the way around and so do my hands and thumbs. And I’m just very bendy in general, some would say that’s a plus lol. But it does weird some people out.

Conclusion

So, those are some weird facts about me. Now it’s your turn. Tell me something weird about you in the comments section located below. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. I think its cool your double jointed!
And it does taste better eating two cashews at a time, lol!

    1. Thanks so much and yes it does haha!

  2. I love Macadamias! Stuff as many in your mouth as you can. I’ve never heard of someone bothered by holes, but they are mysterious because we can’t always know what is in that hole. Maybe you can make a short video of your joints bending, Pooja?

Me? I make my bed every. Single. Day! I floss every evening. I enjoy a beer every evening. 🍻 My house is very neat freaky! 😂 Call it OCD but that’s okay…

    1. Macadamias are sooo good, love them. Oh yeah, I can definitely make a video of my double jointedness but it may scare some people so I’ll have to put a warning or something lol 😝

That doesn’t sound bad at all, I feel like most people aren’t hygienic enough so it’s awesome when someone goes the extra mile!

      1. Make the video! ☺️

        1. Will do! ❤️

  3. Oh Pooja…my daughter and I both have Trypophobia. It’s so hard to explain the feeling, but it’s definitely not pleasant. They say it’s a form of anxiety and you should use exposure to help. Nope…not happening!

    1. Yeah, it’s so hard to explain it to people that don’t have it. Yeah absolutely not, exposure therapy sounds so uncomfortable!

  4. Very interesting…

    1. Thank you so much.

  5. The food in two’s blew my mind a bit. That a true combination each time. 🙂

    1. Haha yeah, it’s odd but try it the food legit tastes better like that 😅

Interesting. We have skunks and grubs…there are always little holes around where the skunk digs them up. Might not be the best area for you.

    1. Yeah, I think that would freak me out a bit.

  7. I actually kind of get the bath thing. lol
Once the water becomes tepid, it’s a very uncool vibe.
I think everyone has at least one weird eating quirk. I know a ton of people who go insane if different foods touch, I think that’s pretty common actually 😄

    1. Yeah, when it gets tepid and you’re just sitting there it’s so uncomfortable 😣

That’s true, I used to hate when foods touch too but have gotten much better now 😅

      1. Yeah, lukewarm bathwater = no bueno lol

That doesn’t bother me much, never did. Hell, in the service we sometimes had to eat so quick that it was quickest to shovel it all together hahaha

        1. Lol, that’s fair. After high school I don’t care much about food touching either and a big part is because I had to eat quickly in uni and get to the next class in a couple of minutes.

          1. Yes, hunger and limited time make one care a bit less about formalities 😄

  8. I have one thing to share, I’m afraid of people dressed up in costumes with an animal head on, mascots I think they are called. I can’t stand the fact that I can’t see their eyes, costumes are not a problem but a head completely concerning the face and eyes specifically makes me freak out.

    1. Ooh, that’s an odd phobia but it also makes so much sense. Most people use the eyes (consciously or unconsciously) to sense how the other person is feeling or if they are a threat so biologically it makes sense that you would be scared when you can’t see their eyes.

      1. I guess it’s because reading people’s faces is the most important part for me in assessing the level of danger

        1. Yeah, I feel like that’s a pretty ration phobia to have. It’s probably based on biological instinct and self-defence.

  9. I repeat things in four…first with right hand, then twice with left hand and again with right hand…sort of feels complete

    1. That’s so interesting. I feel like that one would be satisfying to do.

  10. I think being bendy is cool! I’m the exact opposite 😅

    1. It’s cool till you accidentally freak people out lol 😂

  11. I need to search what’s double jointed.

I like bath, I have them daily 😀

Is water thing in your case is due to skin sensitivity or something?

I would say you are an unique being, so nothing weird about you. You consider them weird, but I think these facts makes you a human

    1. Something about baths makes me feel dirty, I always prefer showers.

I don’t think it’s due to skin sensitivity, I think it’s an anxiety thing actually.

Haha thanks. Yeah, we’re all weird and this is just my weird stuff.

      1. Even if it’s anxiety
Then still I won’t call it weird

        That’s what makes you human
Like not all fingers are same in a hand, similar not everyone is same.
You are unique, let’s accept that 😍💕

        1. Thanks. Yeah, I love the weird stuff about me. I don’t mind it at all. It makes me who I am 😊

  12. Does being double jointed mean you are going to suffer double arthritis when you get older? I ask that seriously, because I have no idea.

    1. I don’t think so because my older relatives that are double jointed don’t have arthritis or worse arthritis. Idk though, may have to do some research on that.

  13. Thanks for sharing, and one weird thing about myself is I could drink pickle juice like a bottle of water (haha, sorry, don’t mean to freak you out).

    1. Lol, I sort of get it because I love pickles so much 😅

  14. I’ve been called double jointed but I think it’s more loosely jointed. My legs looked good in ballet class because they were so straight that the knees didn’t show. But I’m not double jointed to the extent your are. I’ve missed your blog posts. I’m not sure if it was a WP glitch, or you haven’t been writing.

    1. Yeah, I think some people are only slightly double jointed which makes them more bendy but not exactly double jointed.
I think it’s a WP glitch because I’ve been posting just a bit less regularly. I also haven’t seen your posts on my Reader in so long.

      1. I’ve missed your blogs. I do think it’s a WP glitch.

        1. Thanks, I’ve missed reading yours too. Hope all is well with you and your family.

          1. Thank you. We do have a lot of things going on.

            1. You’re very welcome.

  15. Some of it is not weird, just phobias. I bet they all have a story and it started in childhood -most of us do a few weird things now and then. It makes us all special in a weird way 🙂

    1. Yeah, I think most of us have some of those phobias or weird things we do. It’s fun to learn more about them actually, at least to me.

  16. It’s Very nice to know more about you❤️❤️

    1. Thanks so much 😊❤️

  17. I prefer a shower over a bath too, so I get that one. I do love the water for swimming. I once spent half a day in a pool and almost turned into a full body prune, lol.

I can lock my middle finger joints and just move the finger tip. It comes in handy for turning bolts in tight places on a car. Some people think it is kind of creepy.

I used to be freaked out by cracks in the ground or sidewalk and make every effort to avoid stepping on them. It does not bother me much anymore though, although I do avoid stepping directly on any very large cracks in the ground.

I once won a pop drinking contest by drinking a can of pop in six seconds.

One of my brothers used to freak out if any of his food on the plate touch the other food. He did not like one of those plates that had dividers either, it had to be on a regular plate.

    1. I’m the opposite, I hate swimming. I learnt how to swim and never entered a pool again lol.

Ooh, interesting. I can do that with all my fingers and it’s actually more handy than people realise. It’s great for people who do makeup too.

I think the stepping on cracks one is really common but I’m glad it doesn’t bother you as much anymore.

A can of pop in six seconds?? That’s so impressive.

Food touching is a common one too. A lot of people hate that.

  18. I think we all have something we find weird about ourselves… 😁

seems my youngest daughter is double jointed (didn’t know there was a term for it… just thought to flexible or tooo flexible lol) it is interesting (yes weird a little😬😋) to watch lol…

    🤍

    1. Haha true, we all have our weird quirks.

Oh I see, yeah it’s a little odd to see for those that aren’t double jointed but it’s also fun lol 😝

      1. It is fun… I know my daughter thinks so too lol (something she can do that we can’t 😁)

        🤍🤗

        1. Aw, that’s nice- she’s unique thanks to it 😊

  19. You’re a unique person Pooja! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    1. Thanks so much, we all are in our own way 😊

      1. Yes that’s true. You’re most welcome 🩷

  20. On old TV shows they used to use those expressions that I guess aren’t used anymore like “Holy Cow!” and “Great Caesar’s Ghost!”. Holy cow, there used to be scientists who thought that equations and nature should be symmetrical, but often it’s not: they wanted to have for every right-handed molecule, a left-handed one. But actually, sometimes it’s deadly: there’s a Prion protein that causes no problems unless its mirror image protein occurs. That causes Mad Cow Disease. You can get that by eating the brain and spinal cord of an infected cow or eating the brain of an infected human. But don’t worry there’s no mad macadamia or cashew disease.
I want things to be explained. I don’t want just new words coined for something that’s not explained. Calling something a “syndrome” doesn’t actually explain anything. It’s like a “cold case” in detective work.
My Mother had a meat grinding machine that used a screw to push meat through a metal plate with many holes. As kids we didn’t mind the machine but we were disturbed by all the people she killed and ground up. We were afraid to tell her what happened in school because if we said that a another kid bothered us or made fun of us, we might have them for dinner. Mom told us that we had weird friends but our family was super normal.

    1. Lol, I’m glad I never bothered you as a kid.

I don’t know if I’ve ever said “Great Caesar’s Ghost!” but it’s always been one of my favourite expressions to exist.

  21. You ain’t no where close to realizing that your a good person..hehe haha 😂

    1. Nope, I sure ain’t 😅

  22. I generally fear heights and snakes. Freaks me senseless

    1. My mum is the same way, she hates both of those too.

      1. When I am in a very high place, I get weird fantasies of throwing myself down.

        1. Wow, that’s sort of scary. You should definitely avoid heights then.

          1. I avoid them and once I am there, I keep away from the windows or edges

            1. That’s really good.

  23. Now that is weird. As for me there are lots of extremely weird things about me:
I am a big bag of chemicals that thinks. You can’t get much weirder than that!
I live in a huge vacuum that never ends and never began. How weird do you want it to be?
I walk about (weird) on a rock that is hurtling through space in dizzying spirals at colossal speeds yet I think I am standing still. There’s a name for this kind of belief but I don’t know what it is.
I share this rock with a bunch of greedy, selfish, demented monkeys who believe they can destroy the rock they live on and still live for ever. I think that’s called religion.
    Is that weird enough??

    1. Lol, I guess we’re all weird!

  24. I don’t know if this is weird, but it’s a plus for me, is that I can read somebody instantly, especially when they’re not the best people, you know? As soon as I meet people, I’ll have this mini alarm go off in my head, and even though everybody else thinks they’re great, I get this warning in my head to not get too comfortable, and it’s literally been true every single time, never failed me. It always proves itself later on. Maybe that’s just a really strong intuition, and it’s not as weird as it is simply not so common.
Oh, and I’m not afraid of spiders or snakes, but flies freak me out, full-on phobia! 😅

    1. That’s kind of a superpower lol. I would love to know when someone sucks so I can save myself all the trouble. 😅

Omg that’s an odd phobia but I sort of get it because I have a fear of butterflies but don’t bat an eye if I see a spider 🕷️

      1. Yeah, sort of! It saves me the drama of seeing someone’s true colors later on and the betrayal of it, and I can warn my friends sometimes when they can’t see it🤷‍♀️
Yes, butterflies, too! How could I forget? 😅 They also scare me, although not more than flies 🤢😂

        1. Lol, so happy to meet someone else who has a phobia of butterflies too 😅 I don’t mind regular flies though 😛

  25. I think being double-jointed is cool. I don’t like sitting in a bathtub but I love showers. I have a fear of snakes and I won’t look at them in pictures or on TV. I think we all have a few quirks.

    1. Thanks so much. Yeah, I prefer showers too. Taking baths just makes me feel icky for some reason. My mum has a strong fear of snakes too. True, we all have our quirks.

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja.

  26. Thanks for sharing about you, Pooja! We all have unique traits. I don’t like spiders! And arachnophobia has lived with me since I was ten. It’s not weird, but everyone who knows me, knows this. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! I think arachnophobia is pretty common so not too bad. I definitely think we all have these little quirks 😊

  27. Hi (you said say hi, which I think is good and cheery). Your weird things are weird, which must also mean human. You sound real, both in terms of content and style (meaning you explain the weirdness really well). My sister once posited that all of us in the family have OCD, and I think she’s right. And it is a good (well, potent) source for weirdness. I need to have air blowing on me all the time. It’s to provide some interference for tinnitus, but the feeling of the moving air (beyond the sound) is necessary. I wilt without it. I eat a number of things in odd ways, I’m sure. I have to get the chocolate off the peanut M&M, while I ingest it, then break the peanut in half and separate and chew the “Santa Claus” part before the rest. My.

    1. Hi, I love when people stop by and say hi. Yeah, I think as humans we all have these little quirks and that’s what keeps life fun. Most of us have OCD too and I think that’s where my weird water thing comes in. Ooh, the M&M thing is definitely weird but also kind of understandable as someone who eats a number of foods weirdly.

  28. I think my weirdness would fill a book lol. I think it’s cool your double jointed.

    1. Lol, same here. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

  29. Such a fun post ahah! I totally get your thing with water! I have something very similar with certain types of fabric!

    1. Thanks so much and glad it’s not just me lol!

  30. Kinda cool Weirdness is what makes the world interesting. As for me; I don’t own a suit or tie. Formal clothes disgust me. 🤣🙃😎

    1. Thank you. Lol that’s a fair one 😅

  31. Clusters of holes does sound kinda freaky 🤣.

    1. Yup, it totally freaks me out 😅

  32. Being “bendy” must contribute to your dance. 🙌🏻💃🏻 One of my fellow dancers is and certain positions seem to defy logic! Or anatomy. Thank you for sharing more of beautiful you, Pooja.

    1. I don’t dance thanks to my two left feet lol but yeah I can see how being double jointed would help dancers 👯 Thanks so much 😊

      1. You’re welcome! 😊🌻

  33. Interesting read, thanks.

    1. Thanks so much.

  34. I’ve always known you are weird, now I know you are even weirder 😅
I don’t think I have any weirdness to match yours in this post

    1. Haha well now you know 😅

  35. Being able to bend yourself in various directions could net you a job as a stunt double in a horror movie potentially. 🤔

    1. Maybe I should start auditioning lol 😅

  36. That was such a fun post to read! I was able to relate about the holes, I am not a fan of them either 🙂

    1. You are indeed very strange! How do your foot and hands go all the way around? Are they possessed?!!! How odd would that be? I’ve heard, and don’t quote me on this, that double-jointedness is actually low muscle tone! Strange things about me? Hmmmm…well as you already know, I’m so very normal!!! 😜.

Well, I am the mother of twins. I can’t stand when my twins (or their older siblings) crack various joints! Yuck!

I grew up on a farm, so the smell of cow plops does not bother me in the least! This comes in handy, as the shelter is down the road from a large cow operation. We either smell cows or landfill. It’s a good day when it’s the cow smell!

That’s probably the weirdest thing about me…cow plops! Well, I do live in the Midwest!

      1. Haha yeah, it weirds people out when they see me bend everything backwards lol. Especially my feet. I don’t think it has to do with low muscle tone, I think it’s genetic and just means your joints are hypermobile.

Haha that’s pretty interesting about you actually!

    2. Thanks so much! Glad I’m not the only one lol.

  37. applaud your list and I got a long long long list. if you ever get madd at somebody and say I’ll kick you across the street you really means that. I’m a Water holic. don’t like baths love showers and drinking water left and right

    1. Thanks so much. I prefer showers too, not a fan of baths at all.

      1. I like to sing in the shower, bath I might hum

  38. not weird at all! Makes you even more interesting.

    1. Thank you and yay glad you think so!

      1. You’re welcome!

  39. What an interesting list! One weird thing about me that comes to mind is I have to stand up after the plane has landed. They tell you to remain sitting until it’s your turn but I need to get my circulation back so I’d rather stand with my head bent (from the overhead compartment) and stretch my legs and back.

    1. Thanks so much! I understand that one because it can feel cramped sitting down for so long. It makes your legs numb sometimes.

  40. Ok my weird, bendy( iwas, careful in the joints) , cluster hole phobia, bendy, nutty (I do 6), shower, (I love baths), friend… that was fun.
    🤩 ❤️💕👏

    1. Haha thanks for sharing yours too and yeah it’s fun to think of our weird stuff sometimes 😅

  41. Hey Pooja, thats some interesting facts. Thanks for sharing! For me, anytime I go to see a movie at the theater or when my family have movie nights my favorite mix is Popcorn with Raisin Nets Candy. Lol I just love the sweet and salty taste together. I do that with a lot of stuff. It’s just something I did as a kid and it stuck with me.

    1. That’s so interesting, I sort of get that one because I used to like putting M&M’s into my popcorn.

      1. M&M’s is my second go to if I don’t have any Raisin Nets.

  42. Weird facts indeed. You are not a fan of water, why, 😂😂😂you are going to be dehydrated and be dry as bones. Anyways, we all have weird things we do I guess.

I eat a lot even at night with my mouth open like a whale, is that weird or wonderful? Please let me know😂✔

    1. I don’t mind driving it, I just don’t like it when water touches my skin 😅

I think that just means you’re enjoying your food 😛

  43. I am loving this thread! I am also double-jointed in some of my fingers. Sometimes I forget about it because for years I didn’t know; my piano teacher pointed it out to me. It gets annoying if my fingers lock up when I’m trying to play or type when I don’t want them to. I never saw it as something I could use to help me get things out of narrow spaces!

I know I’m weird, but I could never think of anything UNIQUELY weird until I looked at the dishes in my sink I’ve been delaying washing. Then I remembered that I HAVE to wash my dishes by hand. I hate dishwashing machines. They don’t always clean the dishes all the way–which you try to avoid by pre-rinsing and pre-soaking but by then you’ve practically washed them–and even when they do they leave terrible streaks. Not to mention that if the food is left, the dry cycle dries the food on and you can barely remove it! So annoying.

I imagine I’d also not use a clothes washer if I thought too hard, but that’s another story.

For those of you with the fear of holes, do things like fishing nets or cardigans with openings as part of the knitting pattern bother you, too? Or does it specifically have to be something like a bee hive, termite mound, etc.?

    1. Thanks so much. Oh yeah, I hate when your fingers lock up. Mine do that too when I type too much. It has its pros too. Like when I blend makeup my fingers are more bendy so can get all the little spaces too haha.

That’s interesting but also makes sense because I feel like you’re right. Dishwashers don’t clean as well as doing it by hand.

Personally, I’m only weirded out by specific hole clusters like beehives. But I think those with a more extreme phobia may be fearful of all holes.

  44. I am double-jointed in my arms and my toes. I think it’s cool being double-jointed.

    1. Yeah, it’s definitely cool. It’s like a little superpower.

  45. Not to diagnose you or anything, but three of these are possible indicators of OCD. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you have it!

    1. No you’re right, I do have a little bit of OCD and it runs in my family actually. Good catch lol!

  46. Now that is cute. We all have our unique and weirdness. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thanks so much and we sure do!

Your quirks make you unique, and it’s always interesting to learn more about people’s idiosyncrasies. Eating things in twos and having a phobia of clusters of holes definitely fall into the category of unique preferences. It’s fascinating that you’re double-jointed, showcasing the diversity of human anatomy. The honesty and openness in sharing these quirks make your blog post relatable and engaging. Thanks for sharing these fun facts about yourself! 🌟😊

    1. Thanks and I think so too. These little things make us fun and unique 😊
