André Gide Quote:
What’s Up With Me?
This week has been a bit weird. I don’t know why but I keep feeling exhausted no matter how much I rest. And I was talking to my sister about it and she said she’s been feeling the same way. I think I need a vacation but I don’t know if I’ll be doing that any time soon. It sucks so much how expensive everything is these days. Can’t even take a day trip without overthinking the financial aspects of it.
I’ve been forgetting to love myself this week and give myself some time to relax. Which is why this André Gide quote stood out to me today. I very much agree with him. Self-care and loving yourself is what keeps us sane. That’s what stops us from becoming burnt out. It’s okay to put yourself first sometimes and it’s not about being vain or having an attitude. It’s giving yourself the same love and priority that you would give the people you love. If we can go out of our way to make people we love happy, why is it so hard for us to do the same for ourselves?
