Ralph Waldo Emerson Quote

Quote Of The Day

Ralph Waldo Emerson Quote:

Ralph Waldo Emerson Quote

What’s Up With Me?

Not much has been going on with me these days. It was so hot in Nairobi recently. I almost never wear shorts or skirts but these days I’ve been exclusively wearing shorts and tanks and still feeling like I’m about to have a heatstroke. However, over the last two days or so there has been rain so it’s cooled down a little. Today morning was pretty hot but it’s cooled down now and looks like it’s about to rain. It’s afternoon right now.

Also, I had a weird but good day. Someone randomly sent me money on PayPal and I have no reason why?? It wasn’t through my blog, it was directly to my PayPal account and the amount doesn’t match what I charge for any service I offer. So, I’m not sure what’s happening with that… Hopefully, they will reverse the payment if it’s been sent to the wrong person. Or at least email me about the service they’re looking for if it is for me. At least that way I’ll know more about the mystery money. Or maybe I’ll get hacked, who knows these days.

  1. Based on the jungle movies I’ve watched people who make their own trails have a 50/50 chance of getting eaten by a panther or finding a city fill with gold.

    1. Honestly, totally worth the risk…

  2. Being a trail blazer is not what most people opt for, but it has the charm of discovering new places.
Unaccounted money is indeed perplexing. I hope this gets sorted out soon.
My Feb has passed almost in a blur. The next month, Ramadan is starting near 10-11 so that will bring its own busyness.

    1. That’s very true.

Yeah, it was weird and I was afraid it may be a scam or attempted hacking or something. So, I’ll be keeping an eye on my account for a while.

True, you’ll get quite busy once Ramadan starts and I guess March will pass by quickly too.

      1. One should be suspicious of any unaccountable financial transactions. Hope it’s something beneficial.
Yea Ramadan passes quickly with fasting and the extra work of the food prep.

        1. Yes, I think it’s just so odd so I’ll have to be careful.

I can imagine, it’s probably a bit more work to get the food ready by specific times.

          1. Yes, other than praying and reading Quran, it’s most about getting food ready for both the morning and evening meals.

  3. Hi Pooja,
It’s super hot here too. I have always imagined Kenya and Queensland Aust. to have similar weather. I love how once it rains the heat disappears for a little while and everything smells fresh again.
On forging a path…I don’t go off track hiking but I have ignored Siri when driving and find that when I do, my instinct is often correct. Recently there were two men who were discovered after a week of being lost and stranded after Google maps led them into disaster – so there is that. Especially in Australia where we have so many dirt tracks and remote places.
Cheers, and have a lovely day 🫶✨

    1. I guess we have pretty similar weather and I think we have summer/winter in the same months.

Sometimes it’s nice to find our own way. Google maps isn’t accurate in Kenya either and one time we ended up in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road in the middle of the night. We were terrified as it didn’t look safe at all.

Have a lovely day too 😊

  4. I don’t know where February has gone! Perhaps down one of those uncharted tracks?

    1. Haha perhaps so, let’s hope March doesn’t get lost on the same track haha.

  5. That quote is among some of my favorites.

I can’t believe that February is almost over.

Glad you got some relief from the heat.

I would be a bit suspicious of the payment and wary of hackers too. I don’t understand how someone with skills to hack someone wouldn’t use that talent to get an honest job.

    1. It’s raining so much today, I’m so happy. We needed this after all the heat.

I thought it was weird too and might be an attempted scam so I’ll have to keep an eye on my account for a while. True, with that much skill you could get a legit job.

  6. Ohhh
Here it’s still cold in morning and at night.
During day it’s hot. Right now with changing environment we need to tak care of ourselves the most.

    Either god is helping you
Or it’s like case of fraud, where they send some money, then later ask for money back and get details.
Usually it’s more common if account is linked as well.

    Still no whinning 😭

    1. Also how are we supposed to go to path where no one else went?
      What if we get lost?
What if there’s no internet there? And what if someone abducts us?

      1. If you get lost, you have an adventure. If you get abducted, two words- Stockholm Syndrome.

    2. Ket’s hope God is helping me and I’m not being scammed 😅

      Whinning coming soon 😫

      1. Whinning is crucial
        I mean, it’s the name 🫣

        1. Lol agreed, it can’t be lifesfinewhine without the whining 😫

  7. I love this quote. It takes strength and courage to go where we make our own path, but it can be so rewarding.

    1. Thanks so much. I think so too, it’s not easy to create our own path but in the end it’s worth it. Most successful people tend to have the ability to be unique.

  8. Woo! February was a tough month! Thankfully we are almost to March and then spring! Yay, spring!

    1. Yes, hopefully March will be a much better month!

  9. Love the Emerson quote. Somebody hadda eat the first oyster 😎

    1. Haha true 😅

  10. Reminds me of lines in a poem by Frost I often think off during many of my reflecting moments before making a pending decision.

~Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference – Robert Frost.~

    1. I absolutely love that quote, one of my favourites. Thank you for sharing it.

  11. Enjoy the warmth, Pooja, the slightly warmer temps seem to be returning to Las Vegas Valley and not soon enough. Please, be very careful with this money issue. Scams are everywhere today, I received a spam phone call this morning that was so ridiculous. Blocked!

    1. Oh good, glad it’s warming up. True, the first thing I thought was that it may be a scam so I’m going to be keeping an eye on my account. Urgh spam calls are so annoying!

      1. Block them, it works every time. 🤙🏻

        1. Yup, that’s what I always do.

  12. Nairobi’s heat wave sounds brutal.

    1. Yeah, it’s been so hot which is very uncommon in Kenya.

  13. Well glad things have cooled down in Nairobi. Hope you get an answer to that paypal transaction, it’s nice to receive money but something seems a bit amiss.

And I liked that quote. It’s a good one to remember.

    1. Yes, thankfully it’s gotten better. Rained today as well which helps. I think so too, something weird about randomly getting money like that.

      Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

  14. Love the quote 🙂 Spring is on its way here in the UK and we could do with some warmth. That said, off to the Caribbean next week………..

    1. Well, hopefully you’ll get plenty of sun there 🙂

  15. My first thought when you mentioned the random money was “Uh oh, it’s a scam”. I really hope it isn’t and that everything turns out ok, but there are just too many people out there trying to steal from others 🙁

As for the quote, if you’re going to blaze your own trail, make sure you’ve got a machete and a compass. Otherwise you’ll get hopelessly lost and die of dehydration, haahahaha 😉

    1. That was my first thought too. I’m going to have to keep an eye on my account.

Thankfully, I have both lol 😝

  16. The song is is lovely wow, reminds me of ASA

    1. Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed it.

  17. 🙏🌹🙏🌹🙏

  18. It’s still chilly here in the mornings but warms up later in the day. As for the random money, it could be a scam and you may want to change your password on PayPal. Blazing your own trail can be adventuresome, but best beware.

    1. I guess it’ll get warmer by April when spring starts.

Yeah, I did that and will keep an eye on my account for any other suspicious activity.

True, it’s best to be cautious but keep trying new things.

  19. Hi. I’m sorry to hear about the heat you’ve had to endure. Glad for the rain, of course. The PayPal thing is strange, I’ll admit. I mean, it’s good, I guess, though I too would want to know the source and the reason. It’s a good quotation by Emerson. We do need affirmations about going our own way. Emerson was asked to deliver a speech at Harvard Divnity School. His review of the school (in the speech) was rather scathing, but the speech is read now at the school every year. Maybe that’s integrity. Here it is unseasonable, too, though that means cool rather than cold. I hope you’re feeling much more comfortable soon.

    1. Thankfully it’s been raining on and off so it’s been okay now. It’s so weird because it’s never that hot in Kenya.

Yeah, the PayPal thing is a little bit suspicious to me.

That’s so interesting, I hadn’t heard about that. It’s great they didn’t take what he said to heart and used it as an opportunity to remember to grow and change by reading it each year.

      1. Yes, I think you’re right about growth and change encouraged. I think the yearly address as a kind of review could help those at the school, teachers and students. be real in their perspective and their work.

I’m so glad the rain brought down the heat.

        1. Thank you and yes I think so too.

  20. Now, the Emerson quote is problematic, if taken literally. Because there are too many people wandering around, for whatever reason, off trail. On the other hand – if it’s a metaphor for independent thinking it’s great.
~ Snowing here. Nearly a whiteout, after three days of strong, warm wind.
~ It seems to be universal – that time is flying by so fast.
    ~ Take care.

    1. Yeah, I think it’s more of a metaphorical and a reminder to step out of the box when you need to.

Oh wow, that’s quite crazy weather. Stay warm.

  21. Nice Quote❤️❤️❤️❤️

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  22. That is such a great quote. 👍🏻 How is your book project coming along?

    1. Thanks so much. The book is going good, still waiting for my editor to finish editing it but the feedback I’ve gotten so far from her has been really helpful. Thanks for asking 😊

      1. Excellent! You are welcome. 😊

  23. Love this quote! I cannot believe it is almost March already! And I hope you figure out the mystery money that was deposited to your paypal account soon!

    1. Thanks and yeah time has really been flying! I was actually able to figure out who sent it lol, it was just one of my clients 😅

  24. Emerson is one of my favorite authors! I used to read his works frequently in college and graduate school and especially liked his thoughts about nonconformity and following your genius.
    Great quote!

    1. Same here, love Emerson! Thanks so much!

  25. I’ve always wanted to make a new trail, but usually it’s in the snow and the snow melts before someone can follow. We’ve had yo-yo weather — one day it’s warm (above freezing) and the next its cold (below freezing). I’m sorry it’s hot over there. We haven’t had much snow, but next time I’ll send you some. It’s unfortunate but we’ve had over the years quite a few cases where the bank accidentally deposited millions of dollars in the wrong account. A few people withdrew it immediately and started spending it. But the law said that they should have known it wasn’t theirs and they had to pay it back. I’m glad I got the warning reading about the cases many years ago because I would have spent it and that was before most people had computers.

    1. I would have spent it too, not going to lie. Even knowing I shouldn’t spend it, if I randomly got millions I would withdraw it, change my name and you’d never see me again lol.
Thankfully, I figured out who sent me the money on PayPal and confirmed it was one of my clients.

      1. Hooray! You can both be happy. Two souls saved directly and others in the aftermath. I guess the morally play would have to be updated: it would have to be an accidental billion dollars in an off-shore account laundered through art work. I’ve thought about waiting outside a bank for bank robbers and stealing from them. The police would catch them and ask, “where’s the money,” and they’d say some random guy robbed us. Nobody would believe them. ‘Um, uh, it was Robin Hood.’

        1. That’s a good idea, if there’s a bank in a particularly sketchy area standing outside it may be the best hobby.

  26. a profound quote to life and living….

and to your weather….lol we all know how much you love those rainy days….😋
wishing some cooler weather your way.

    🤍

    1. Thank you so much.

Lol, yes I love the rain and I’m so happy it’s been raining after all that heat 😫

      1. lol, enjoy Pooja 🤗

  27. love the quote!
    wild weather patterns!
    Keep the money and run!!!!
Well, unless your hacked. Otherwise, just say thank you! Nice.. you help so many, who know for sure. with that said, a client said or “I paid you the money that went to my hairdresser”. It was a good opportunity to get a raise.. lol~! 😹❤️
Time for you to get on match and maybe be sure..I’m sure about you🥹😂 xo ❤️

    1. Thankfully, I figured out where the money was from and it was from a client so not hacked lol 😂

      Hehe thank you ❤️❤️

      1. Whew
        😅
        Good news❣️

  28. It’s interesting that we live in different countries, yet experience similar weather.😀
My Feb has been good thank you for asking.

    1. Yeah, but it’s probably because our countries are neighbours lol 😅 Hopefully, you guys are getting some rain too. Glad your February is going well.

      1. Oh yeah. 😄
We have been receiving lots of rain since last week.

        1. Oh good, we’re getting some rain here too but not very much. Still, it’s a nice break from the heat.

  29. Trail Blazers are good except for the few who set forest fires!

    1. Yeah, those really ruin it for us all!

Great quote! Hope the weather improves…usually rain cools things down a bit.

    1. Thanks and yes the weather has cooled down a bit now!

  31. The quote to me is meaning to stop always being a follower and be a leader. It’s true that it’s easier to follow a path but why not create a new one and experience new things. I hope it cools down a bit for you there.

    1. I think of it that way too. It’s about taking charge and not being afraid to try some new and different. Thanks, luckily it’s a little better with the weather.

  32. I love the quote because I have tended to be one who does not always just go the trendy way

    1. That’s great, I think living your own life and creating your own path is much more rewarding rather than blindly going with trends and walking down roads most other people do.

  33. Absolutely. Create your own path and leave a trail for others to follow. Be a leader.

    1. Yes, if you want to live a happy and successful life you have to create your own path.

  34. Great quote. Leading takes courage, can build character.

    1. Thanks so much and I think so too.

      1. MY pleasure!
