I know I had said that I had not planned anything for my birthday but was instead just going to sit home and chill for the day. I mean, it was 420, lol. Well, that was what I had planned but then my sister and cousins decided to surprise me! My sister was like I had to go pick up something so I tagged along with her and we ended up at Noir, a popular Kenyan restaurant/gallery. Actually, I had been there for a previous birthday with my sister and bestie. Anyway, since we ended up at Noir I thought I would share a little Noir review on this post too.
So, we got to Noir and I was distracted by a goat they had?? It was so cute I wanted to take it home lol. Anyway, my sister rushed me inside and who do I see but my cousin brother’s waiting to surprise me. I was so distracted trying not to slip and fall that I didn’t even notice them till we got to the table lol. I was really happily surprised!
Ambiance
Noir is such a beautiful place surrounded by plants. There was this jackfruit tree right next to where we were seated. Oh and the lighting was incredible. My skin has never looked better in pictures lol.
Food And Drinks
After chatting for a bit, we decided to order some food and drinks. I got the pineapple and mint mocktail, my sister got some hot chocolate, one of my cousins got a spicy mango mocktail and the other got some soda. My cousins also decided to try the cauliflower tacos which they said were pretty delicious. I had already eaten lunch so wasn’t that hungry.
We got some dessert to celebrate the occasion. Or I should say occasions because not only was it my birthday but one of my cousin brothers had just become head boy for his school. For those of you that are not familiar with the concept head boy and head girl, Google is free. Just kidding, you can read more about it here. Anyway, we got the Panna Cotta to celebrate. It was kind of mid, not going to lie lol. Like it wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t great.
Boutique
We were chilling for a while at our table when it started to rain. And when I say it rained, it was pouring y’all. I was so happy because rainy weather is my favourite. The only problem was that we had to walk through a bunch of rain but we were prepared with an umbrella and made it inside. We couldn’t see the gallery since there was a panel but we were able to see the boutique that was so pretty.
Some of the art in the hallways, it was lovely even though we couldn’t see the gallery itself.
And my cousin brother bought me this adorable birthday card. If you can’t tell by the fact that my pjs have elephants on them and I have a tattoo elephants, I’m a little obsessed with elephants. And this card had a baby elephant on it!
Conclusion
Shoutout to my cousin brothers for taking some of the images on this post. They turned out great. Oh and one of my cousins has this habit of taking pictures of me when I’m not looking lol. And this one actually turned out a little cute:
And I saw this little frog when I got home.
