Something, Something, Something

I didn’t have anything to talk about today, so I thought I would talk about something. Well, somethings that have been going on with me lately.

This month isn’t off to a great start for me. Last night, I accidentally hurt my wrist and boy does it hurt like a mother. At first, I thought okay it’s probably just an ouchie I’ll forget about in an hour or so. But after a few seconds the pain just got worse and worse. And I was like, dang I messed up. I knew it was going to be bad. My wrist was hurting pretty bad yesterday and today most of my hand was hurting which sucked. It doesn’t look too bad in the picture but it hurts pretty bad. Hopefully, it’ll be okay in a few days.

Something, Something, Something

I’m also in a bit of a fight with our resident lizard at the moment. We call her Elizabeth, Liz for short. And she’s been living in our house for a while now. She helps get rid of unwanted insects like mosquitoes so we let her stay. Recently though, she been acting out a lot. Whenever I sit in the living room to do my writing at night (it’s peaceful when everyone else is asleep) she comes out of her hiding place and full on yells at me. Like hisses and everything. And then she hides behind the curtain and watches me to see my reaction. Sometimes, I yell back. Other times I’m the bigger man and let it go. She’s a little weird for sure lol.

How’s August going for you? What’s something happening with you right now?

I recently published my first book, if you would like to read it, please click here.

  1. So, back it up, ma’am. 🤣😆😂 A whole lizard yelling/hissing at you? What kind of lizard? An iguana? A komodo dragon (probably not. Hopefully not. Those are huge and not native to your area 🤣😆😂). I’m invested! What is happening?!

Also, I’m sorry about your wrist, and I hope it heals up soon!

    1. Not only is the lizard hissing at me in its free time, we’re straight up beefing right now 😅 It’s a small one. Apparently they’re called Tropical House Gecko’s. It’s crazy too because I literally saved its life when it was just a baby stuck in our sink and now it’s hissing at me as if it owns the place. They grow up so fast 😅 It all started when I jokingly said it needed to start paying rent and it seems to have taken that personally…

Thanks, it’s a little better today!

      1. Haha. Haha. Aww, a Gecko. And now Geico commercials will begin playing in my head. 🤣😆😂

And you’re welcome! I’m glad it’s a bit better today!

        1. Thanks! Lol, I love those commercials 😅

          1. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

  2. A lizard in your home? Nope! I hope your wrist feels better soon, Pooja, consider an X-Ray on it. 🙏🏻

    1. It’s a very cute lizard so I don’t normally mind but it’s been getting on my nerves recently 😅 Thank you, if it doesn’t heal in a day or two I’ll definitely check it checked out ❤️

      1. I see, hi Lizard! I hope you don’t have a bone fracture, Pooja. 🙏🏻😓

        1. Fingers crossed it’s just a bruise, thankfully it’s getting better 😊

          1. Yay! 🤙🏻😊

  3. Hope your wrist heals quickly. I love the lizards that roam around outside – no “pet” lizards, though. 🦎

    1. It’s one of the lizards that roam outside but it decided to move in for whatever reason and refuses to leave lol. Thank you ☺️

  4. I am sorry you hurt your wrist. Lizards can be pretty helpful, assuming it is a small lizard. We have lots of little lizards in our house and they are pretty clean, eat insects and keep out of the way.

    1. Thanks so much. Oh absolutely, our house is almost completely insect free now.

  5. I hope you get better soon Pooja! ❤❤

    1. Thanks so much!

  6. I once lived in an apartment that would randomly have lizards or geckos come and go- never more than one at a time- but they did help with other critters.

    Hope you feel better soon!

    1. Aw that’s so nice, they really do help with the unwanted insects.

      Thanks so much!

  7. I hope you feel better soon

    1. Thanks, I’m a little better today.

  8. Maybe you should have seen a doctor about that wrist.

    1. I’ll be going to get it looked at next week if it doesn’t get any better.

  9. one of our trips to Maui our apartment had a resident gecko which was kind of stand off-ish, but friendly enough….not sure what it ate, but the closest I’ve ever had to actually having a pet

    1. Aw, that’s nice. gecko’s usually eat insects at night since they’re nocturnal.

  10. Oh wow! I see a little red and pink on your wrist! I’m sorry you hurt your hand. I hope you feel better soon. Your story about your lizard is so funny! Pets are something else aren’t they? My grandparents had a dog. We called her Xena. She was very protective of my grandparents and would start barking wildly if she felt there was any threat!

    1. Yeah, it’s a little bruised but hopefully it’ll heal. Thanks so much! Yes, pets make our lives so much more fun lol. Aw, that’s sweet. She sounds like a good dog.

  11. Hope your wrist mend soon. You should see a doctor if the pain doesn’t goes away

    1. Thanks so much, yes I’ll get it checked out if it doesn’t get any better.

      1. You’re welcome and take care 🥰🤗

  12. Wishing you a speedy recovery for your wrist.

    1. Thanks so much.

      1. You’re welcome.

  13. A lizard named Liz is probably the most hilarious thing I will see all day! Also, I hope your wrist heals up soon.

    1. Lol yeah, sometimes we call her Lizzy. Thanks so much.

Yes, Lizzy keeps the mosquitoes away which I appreciate. She’s quite small, like the size of your palm. A bit aloof but not a bad pet in general.

  15. Elizabeth such a beautiful name for a lizard 🦎 🤩🤩🤩

    1. Thank you, she’s named after Elizabeth Bennet from Pride And Prejudice 😊

  16. “Sometimes, I yell back.” … any chance of you sharing a video of urls conversation/communication. 😋🤣

sorry about your wrist…hope it eases up sooner. 🤍

    1. Lol, the next time we have a yelling contest I’ll surely record it 😅

      Thanks so much 😊

  17. I’m terrified of lizards lol but they do help with keeping insects outside.

    Hope your wrist heals soon

    1. Yeah, I’m more terrified of the insects so I let the lizard stay lol.

      Thank you.

  18. You are cracking me up Pooj! A lizard? Ewww gross! I have to say if I had a lizard keeping me company while I was writing I wouldn’t get any writing done because I’d be too busy screaming lol!

    1. I love that she keeps me company but she’s annoying when she yells lol!

  19. Damn girl what were you doing with your wrist?? 😂😂 Hahah pretty sure the people in your house are terrified to hear you yell at a one side argument lol

    1. My hand slipped and it straight up hit my desk so hard right at the edge too 😭 Nah, they understand cos Lizzy is arguing with everyone these days 😅

      1. Ouch! Sorry! God she is in her emo teen phase

        1. She is and I can’t even be made because I went through mine too 😅

  20. Hope your wrist injury is not serious and heals quickly.

The lizard named Liz made my day and really made me laugh.

I have a character in one of my books named Elizabeth Strangberg, and one of her fellow scientist friends calls her Lizard Breath Strange Brain.

    1. Thanks so much, it’s a little better now.

Lol, I’m using that name on Lizzy the next time she yells at me.

  21. Sorry for your hurt wrist! That liz made me chuckle though, does she have any idea how messy she could be, hissing around a night owls who’s in her creative space?

    1. Thanks, it’s a little better now! She’s so messy and I think she’s doing it on purpose out of spite lol.

  22. Hope you getting well soon, interesting about your lizard, I think u write a poem about this😀

    1. Thanks so much, did I write a poem about her?? I may have actually lol 😂

      1. Definitely dear, I want to see that

  23. Hahaha, a moody lizard! We have so many lizards and occasionally they get into the apartment, but I’ve never had one seek me out. Maybe there aren’t enough mosquitos lately?

Also, sorry about your wrist. Indeed hope it is something that will just take a few days to heal. May be a good idea to wrap it.

    1. It’s winter here so lots of insects around- she’s just being a drama queen as usual lol.

Thanks, it’s a little better today and hopefully should heal soon.

      1. Good to hear you’re on the mend now. 🙂

  24. smile at that reptile
    hiss is manic cold blooded
    bliss

    1. I refuse to smile at her lol.

      1. not like boris the spider. creepy! crawly!

  25. If it doesn’t feel better in a day or so, get it checked out, as it could be broken. Mrs B had to deal with that at the beginning of this year. Thought she’d just sprained her wrist, but turns out it was a break. Amazing how complex we are.

As for that lizard, that is just plain odd behavior.

    1. Yeah, I’ll have to get it checked out next week if it doesn’t get any better. Oh no, that sucks. Hope she’s okay now.

It’s quite odd because lizards never hiss at me. But my assumption is that this one is a bit of a drama queen.

  26. Wow! Elizabeth, the lizard sounds like a dragon, Pooja. A long time ago, there was a tiny lizard in my apartment. Every where I went, it would appear. I had my boyfriend at that time gently remove it. I hope your wrist gets better soon and it’s nothing serious. 😟

    1. She so tiny but has the face of dragon! Aw, that’s so sweet. They’re pretty easy to remove if you choose to. Lizzy was just a tiny baby when I first saw her.
Thanks so much, my wrist is feeling better now and hopefully it will heal soon 💞

      1. That is too cute that you named your lizard, Lizzy, and I am glad your wrist is feeling better, Pooja. 💕

        1. Thank you ☺️

          1. You’re welcome.

  27. If your wrist keeps hurting and your wrist movements are restricted you should get it checked out and get an X-Ray done.
I hope you feel better soon Pooja.

    1. Thanks, I’ll definitely see a doctor and get an X-Ray if it doesn’t heal soon. Thanks so much 😊

  28. I hope your wrist stops hurting and you feel much better soon, I hope that lizard stops throwing a hissy fit, Have a good start to the new week,

    1. Thanks so much, it’s a little better now. Have a great week ahead too.

  29. I have friends with all kinds of unusually pets, but I don’t think I know anyone else with a lizard. That’s funny that you argue. I’m not sure I’d be comfortable with it wondering the house at night.

    1. I see, what sort of pets do your friends have? I’ve always wanted a spider but never ended up getting one. It mostly lives in the living room so we don’t mind it. They’re quite harmless, just has a bit of an attitude lol.

  30. Hope your wrist heals sooner. Take care.

    1. Thanks so much and take care too.

  31. Ouch! Keep ice on that! The lizards here are wild, not interested in an indoor life and also very quiet, but I like a lizard with an attitude! 🙂

    1. I’ve been doing just that and thankfully it’s gotten a little better! Haha you would love this one, it has a major attitude 🙂

      1. Who doesn’t love a lizard drama queen? 💚 Glad to hear the wrist is doing a bit better. Careful of the typing!

        1. Thank you!

  32. Lizards are basically smaller versions of dragons. Thankfully they can’t shoot fire from their breathe 🙂

    1. Yes, I would be turned to ashes if they could lol.

  33. I hope your wrist heals soon, Pooja, and I’ve never heard of a lizard yelling. 🙂 Hope she moves on in her travels! xo

    1. Thanks so much, I hope so too 😊 She’s been living with us for like two years now so I don’t think she’ll move on but I hope she stops the hissing lol 😅

  34. You might need to get an X-ray

    1. Yeah, I’m going to see a doctor this week if it doesn’t get any better.

  35. Hey Pooja, at least it’s not a snake hissing at you. I hope your wrist gets better soon. Something happening is just getting older, time flies faster, summer is almost over, I get lazier, have no desire to blog… It’s a funny reality, not a lament, because if I can laugh at myself there’s still hope lol

    1. Haha that’s true. Lizzy’s hisses are pretty harmless. As long as you can laugh, even if it’s at yourself, you know your haven’t given up yet.

  36. Prayers for healing! I would hiss right back at Liz, but that’s just me!

    1. Thank you! Lol, I yell at her but maybe next time I’ll try hissing!

  37. Omg your wrist is bad and you didn’t say a word to me… lord child!!! I’m soooo sorry to hear this and hope it heals FAST!!! And about this lizard… ” And then she hides behind the curtain and watches me to see my reaction. Sometimes, I yell back. Other times I’m the bigger man and let it go. She’s a little weird for sure lol.” i am soooo laughing, he better have full on character in your next book. Too funny😂😂

    1. You worry about me too much you’re so sweet, it’s getting better don’t worry! Lol Liz is definitely going to be a character in the book 😅

      1. Of course I do but then again, I had my own issues but I might need a Liz in my house just to add to the chaos.. lol.. NOT! Of course she is 👏😂👏😂
        How did I guess!!!!!!❣️😂😂

        1. Lol you absolutely don’t need Liz, she’ll drive you insane 😅

  38. Find a month where you can live peacefully

And I’ll not do blogging that month.

    Nice friend you have

    Liz is whining I guess.

    1. Lol, we both know it’s never going to happen 😅

Liz is whining? I wonder where she learnt to do that 🤔

      1. She hasn’t learned from you. I can say that

        1. I agree…

  39. Pooja I sue hope you feel better!
    Liz is hilarious. LOL

    1. Thanks so much! 😊

      1. You’re welcome!

  40. Pl take care…good day. 👏

    1. Thanks so much, have a good day too 😊

  41. Hope your wrist heals completely and quickly. Take care Pooja 🙏

    1. Thanks so much, it’s a little better now 😊

  42. Ah..I love the lizard who snuck into my apartment one morning I was stepping out for work. It doesn’t bother me. At least he stays out of my bedroom when I’m home.
Hope your wrist improves..hope it isn’t impacting your ability to type. 🙏

    1. Lizards do that and they’re great to keep the insects away. Thanks so much, typing isn’t too bad, it’s cooking I have trouble with 😭

      1. Hmm food or writing. I’m not sure which I can do without for more than a day or two. 😜

  43. That wrist injury looks like it sucks. Hoping you get better soon!

LMAO @ Liz. I guess she decided the insects aren’t the only ones who have to deal with her crazy.

  44. Girl you’re so brave, if I were you I would’ve yelled untill every person in town as awake loool!
I wish you a speed recovery from that awful injury! 🙏

  45. You have a lizard living with you? Is it a pet or just an invader? Haha I would have a hard time dealing with that. The worst I’ve had were scorpions hiding in my laundry when I lived in Arizona.

  46. Hope your hand is fine and didn’t have serious injury.

  47. Hilarious post minus the injury, Pooja <3 … I've broken my wrist before and carpal tunnel in my right wrist … I can predict the weather now (LOL)! We have had a few intruders all named Thin Lizzy's (hahaha) … I wonder if she is trying to get a reaction from you!? … I would have jumped out of my skin! Oh, and I read you want a spider (AHHHH – NOPE) !!!

  48. I love lizards and snakes (all animals apart from spiders). I used to have a six foot boa constrictor!

    1. Omg that’s so cool!

  49. are u ok now

    1. Yes, much better. Thanks so much for asking.

      1. That’s good news dear

  50. Any thought about that lizard😀

    1. She hung out with me today but no yelling 😀

      1. So she knows your current situation that’s y 😀

        1. I think she’s embarrassed about her prior behaviour haha 😛

          1. Yes definitely now she realized Pooja’s tender mind👍

  51. Lol, we have geckos and other small lizards all around Florida but I’ve never had one hiss at me for no reason. As for me lately, my patience has been short lately. The silly nonsense of my 94 year old father has been getting on my nerves lately. It’s unlike me to get this irritated.

    1. Usually I don’t get hissed at but this one is a little ball of anger lol.
Oh no, sorry to hear that. We take care of my grandmother who’s almost 100 and it’s really tough.

      1. Oh wow, so you understand the frustration sometimes.

        1. I really do.

  52. Hope your wrist is better. I have written a lot of poetry too, love it because it is so much quicker than stories or novels and it can just be short and to the point.

    1. Thanks so much. Yeah, poetry is often my go to since it’s simpler and shorter.

  53. Hey Pooja, I am so sorry that your wrist is painful and hurting, I pray in Jesus name that it heals faster🕯💯.

Also, I am sure it must be hard to even lift something up with your hurt hand but hang in there. I think from now on, you have to take it slowly. Be slow when going.

    Take care my friend✨💯🙏🙏

    1. Thanks so much 🙏

Yes, I’m trying to take it easy and not do too much with my hurt hand. Very little typing and cooking.

      1. Please do so Pooja🙏✨
After some time, your wounded hand will heal.

        Take care💖

  54. wht abt ur wrist, fully Ok?

    1. It’s much better than it was yesterday.

        1. Thanks so much. It’s kind of you to check up on me. Have a great rest of your week.

          1. OK dear, you are very welcome 👍

            1. Wht abt that lizard😀

              1. She’s still around causing trouble now and then 😅

                1. Oh that’s funny, she is an expected character right? and wants to test Pooja’s patience😀

                  1. Haha yes, she was just yelling at me a few minutes ago 😅

  55. Hopefully it’s just a mild sprain. Ray hurt his elbow trying to get our new washing machine down the stairs. I want to see a picture of the lizard unless I missed it in the post

    1. I’m hoping so too because it’s been doing better. Oh no, hope Ray feels better soon. No, I didn’t share a picture of her but will sometime this week. She likes to hide or move fast so it’s hard to take a good picture.

  56. That looks painful, glad it’s getting better!

    1. Thanks, yeah it’s much better today!

  57. Hope you feel better now !! 😇

    1. Thank you! ☺️

  58. OUCH!! I hope you feel better soon 🤣😎🙃

    1. Thanks, I’m much better now 😊

  59. How is your wrist today?

    1. It’s not fully healed yet but doing much better, almost okay now.

  60. OUCH!! I hope you feel better soon

    1. Thanks, I’m much better now!

  61. I hope you feel better, Pooja! ♥️🌸

    1. Thanks so much ❤😊

  62. Something is better than nothing…nicely put

    1. Yes, very much so. Thank you.
