Something Old, Something New…

Something Old, Something New…

Something Old, Something New | September Monthly Calendar 2024

It feels like I was just talking about how August just started and now it’s already ended. Depending on your time zone, it may already be September by the time you’re reading this. Time truly does fly. I know I say that a lot but I feel that a lot. But something old brings something new.

August was a weird month for me. I fell down a bunch of times and got hurt a couple of times. Thankfully, I’m okay now. And no more falling down either. But overall, it was also a fun month. I went on quite a few adventures that I’m excited to share with you guys.

Thank You’s

I got some really great reviews for my book this month. It’s been wonderful to read everyone’s thoughts on the book. And I want to thank them all for their kind reviews.

Selma Martin is a really great blogger and I’m sure many of you know her blog. She was kind enough to review the book both on her blog and on Amazon. I’m so grateful for her support on WordPress and my other platforms. You can read her review here.

Carol Anne from Therapy Bits also shared a review of the book on her blog. She’s been so supportive and is truly a wonderful person. You can read her review here.

Dawn Pisturino also shared such a positive review of the book both on and on Amazon. I’ve really appreciated her support for my writing as well. You can check out her review here.

trE from A Cornered Gurl also shared a review of the book on her blog. She had previously shared a review on Amazon and now shared one on her site. She’s been so incredibly supportive for years, even before the book came out. And I’m so grateful for that. Check out her review here.

The Living Happy Guide from Happy Hub

Again, thank you so much to everyone that has reviewed the book. It’s actually really hard being an indie author, we don’t have as many resources and ability to market our book. So, every time someone reviews or even reads our book, it truly means the world.

Predictions For September

My predictions for September are that I’m going to go out less and not fall down even more. I may be jinxing myself by saying that lol. But fingers crossed.

Final Thoughts

I hope everyone has an amazing September. Do let me know what your plans for this month are in the comments below. Or simply stop by and say hi!

I recently published my first book and would be very honoured if you took a minute to check it out here.

  1. Hey, happy September to you, Pooj. I hope the month is better for you than August was. It must be really tough to self-publish. Good for you for doing all that.

Me, I’m just focused on recovering from being sick this month. It really set me back, but I’m finally getting energy back.

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, self-publishing is not easy but I think it’s best for lesser known writers.

That really sucks, hope you feel better this month and recover fully.

      1. You’re welcome, and thank you, too. Feeling pretty good now. 🙂

        1. Glad to hear that 🙂

  2. After such a crazy fun August I think I will need two weeks of eat sleep repeat mode : ))) going out less, going to work more :))) this is the plan anyway

    1. Haha well hopefully this month will be more relaxed for you.

      1. Yes, back to the grind )))

  3. May September be a fabulous month for you, Pooja.

    1. Thanks so much and have a great September too.

  4. Not looking forward to the back to school traffic but I’m hoping to work towards achieving my goals.

    1. Oh yeah, the traffic always gets crazy when schools reopen. Hope you achieve your goals this month.

  5. Hello Pooja ji, Happy September to you and your readers.

    1. And happy Sunday 😄

    2. Thank you so much and to you as well 😀

  6. I believe it was Groucho Marx who said “Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like an arrow.” Your book’s in my Amazon cart (waiting for whatever else I can’t live without. . .). The path of your youth sounds similar to my own, so I’ve no doubt it will resonate with me. Looking forward!

    1. Haha, love that quote. Thanks so much, I really hope you enjoy it!

      1. Oops! It’s “fruit flies like a bannana”! But you knew what I meant! 🙂

        1. I had read the quote elsewhere so yeah I knew what you meant 😉

  7. Your most welcome for the review of your amazing book Pooja! It was my pleasure to review it!

    1. That’s so sweet of you to say!

  8. Here’s to September! 😊 glad you’re ok now, no more falling down, please 🙏

    1. Thank you, haha yes fingers crossed there’s no falling this month. Happy September! 😊

  9. It’ll be September tomorrow here, and in about 2-3 weeks, we will have autumn-like weather, and I’m so ready for that!

I’m glad you’re getting the reviews you need for your book to help market it. You really did such a great job with your debut book of poetry. You truly did. Again, you’re most welcome.

I’m hopeful September will bring a few adventures and I’m excited about the possibility of this!

    1. Oh yes, autumn is always the best. Not too hot or cold.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate that!

      Happy September 💕

      1. You’re most welcome! Thank you!

        1. Very welcome!

  10. What a coincidence – I’ve been falling down a lot, too! And congrats on your book – I’m looking forward to reading your poetry when I have a little money in my book fund again.

    1. That’s so odd, hopefully no more falls for either of us this month! Thank you so much, I so appreciate that and hope you enjoy it when you’re able to purchase it!

  11. Well in North America there will soon be the beginnings of what they call the fall and you did live in Canada for a while so be very careful because the fall approaches. 🙂

    1. Ah yes, Fall was always my favourite weather but I may have to switch to calling it Autumn this month haha.

  12. Hey, Pooja. Blessings. May September be good to us all after all this heat.
Reviewing your book was easy. It’s my pleasure to have read and reviewed it. Lovely.
Thanks for mentioning me in this post. Happy September, my lovely. All the best in all your endeavors. 🤗

    1. Still, thanks so much your review was very much appreciated! Happy September and have a great month 🤗

  13. I’m quite glad August is over. Goodbye, accursed Summer! Bring me the Fall!

    1. Haha yes, Fall is always the best weather- not too hot and not too cold!

      1. You know it! 👍👍

  14. Congrats on the great reviews

    1. Thanks so much. Hope you’re settling in well in your new place.

      1. Thanks, I got everything here. I may have underestimated how much work I have to do to get settled in. Life in a small town operates on different attitude towards time, lol. ‘Don’t worry, you can do it next week’, seems to be the refrain I have been hearing. Learning patience big time.

        1. Patience is a good thing to learn. ‘Don’t worry, you can do it next week’ is my motto but only because I like to procrastinate a lot lol.

It is hard being a writer. Getting reviews is so hard. You seem to be doing great though.

    1. Lol, accurate song. Absolutely, it’s really hard being a writer and getting reviews/sales. Thanks!

Sorry to hear that, SAD is really difficult. One of my friends at uni had it and it was tough for her especially in winter. Take it easy and take extra care of yourself.

  17. Falling down less is a great goal to have 😉
    I fully support that, hahahaa!

Once your book has been out a year, do you think you’ll do a post about how the process went, from beginning to the year after? We always hear a lot about all the work beforehand, but not a lot of what it is like for the author AFTER the book is released. I’d be curious about that side of things.

    1. Lol thank you 😅

That’s a really good idea, I’ll definitely share a post about everything that happened for a year after publishing. You’re right, most people talk about the process of publishing but not much after the book is published.

  18. I hope September is a better month for you Pooja.

    1. Thanks so much. Happy September.

      1. Same to you too my friend 💜

  19. Falling down less is a good thing, Pooja. As I get older, it seems falling down is more frequent. I started doing excersises to strenthen my core, legs and ankles. I had severe earaches as a child and feel that is the cause of my balance issues.
As much as I don’t like to see time fly by so quickly, I am glad August is over. Happy September 1st!

    1. I’ve started working out too which helps. Be careful as well, falling down really sucks. That could definitely be causing an issue with balance, I’ve heard of people with earaches having issues with balance. Apparently, you can get lightheaded easily as well if you have longterm issues with your inner ears.
      Happy September!

      1. Being aware of it really helps! I am more careful than I used to be. Take are! 💗

  20. 💓❤️💚 A warm greeting. Have a happy September 🌞

  24. Well, I certainly hope this is a healthy month for you. I’m sure there will be other, more-safe things to fine-whine about. The further depradations of WordPress, say. I have no particular plans for September except my birthday’s in the month, which I continue to enjoy in a hobbit way. Be well. Be safe.

    1. Thanks so much, I hope so too because I’m so done with the sprains haha. Oh yes, I always find something to whine about.
Oh nice, happy birthday in advance. Take care and Happy September.

  25. I hope you have a wonderful September 😊🙏

    1. Thank you so much and wishing you the same! 😊

  32. I will be studying like always, and working, and writing. This month is going to be very busy because I have a lot going on. In three months it will be December, and this year is flying by faster than last year. May this month bring everyone joy, peace, love, and happiness.

    1. Have a wonderful month. True, the year will be over before we know it. Happy September.

  34. Wow. Magnificent blog post Pooja. I am very impressed that you just released a book📕 and I do plan on checking it out once I get the time.

Also, I plan on creating interesting blog posts this month of September and I will schedule a few men’s fashion & style blog posts but I won’t be publishing a lot, I plan on releasing 6 blog posts because I am busy and blogging is not as fun as it used to be.

Plus, I am happy that you are feeling Okay Pooja💖💖, I pray that September becomes kind to you and research proves that September is a month of new beginnings and transformations. I love you my friend💖🙏

    1. Thanks so much. I really appreciate that. I look forward to reading your posts soon. Have a wonderful September too, hugs 🥰
