What’s Up With Pooj?

I thought it would be best to share an Edgar Allan Poe quote today considering it’s Halloween month. And out of the many quotes of his that I like, this is one of my favourites. I think strangeness, weirdness, being different than the norm makes things more beautiful. It makes life more colourful.

Moving on to me, myself and I because that’s what this blog is really about. Lol kidding. But yeah, I’m still on a break from blogging. I mean, I’ll be posting sometimes but not daily like I used to. As I mentioned on an earlier post, this is a particularly busy month for me and I don’t want to push myself to post when I’m really busy with other stuff. I’ll just be posting when I can.

Other than that, I’m having an okay week. Kind of mentally and physically tired but I’m trying to also get a lot of rest so I don’t end up getting sick or something. I’m simultaneously taking it easy and doing a lot which has been so weird. But it’s about balance lol.

    Haha, I had an interesting take on this quote. I think of it as just like “don’t be basic” there’s beauty in all kinds of strange 😊
    Take care of yourself if you’re starting to feel rundown 🙏 get some rest, hydrate, and feel well

    Love the Chappel Roan song. I’ve been listening to a lot of her lately. 🙂 So big and fun. Love the quote, and Poe! Surprised I’ve never come across it before. Definitely something slightly off or strange can be captivating. I’ve heard some talk about the way, because so many people are having procedures that make them look perfect and similar, people with more unusual looks or qualities, in many cases, become refreshing. I like to call it ‘character’. 🙂

      That’s so true. Like most famous people are getting veneers to make their teeth look perfect but it just ends up looking odd because real teeth don’t look like that.

    Love the song, it’s not February but anyway one can be in love.
    The quote is wonderful, it’s about imperfection that makes you gorgeous. Something like a big nose or what not that makes you stand out, i.e. accent, deep voice, crazy hair, etc.

    I think beauty is not so collerated to physicality as people might think, sure physical beauty might be the first impression, but there lies more layers to it, and mostly the non physical aspects of it outweigh the physical aspects. Embracing ones uniqueness is crucial and people are more drawn to that!

      That’s so true, beauty is much more an internal thing. A lot of people may not be stereotypically or traditionally physically attractive but people are still drawn to them because of their personality.

    I like the Edgar Allan Poe quote. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but exquisite beauty has to stand out some way and formulaic perfection can’t do that. We just came back this evening from a wedding in Chicago. We celebrated our dog Rollo’s birthday and bought Halloween decorations. We haven’t planned the rest of the week yet other than the French classes.

    Beauty with strangeness in proportion. Sounds right. Sounds like Poe. Certainly goes with the Romantic/Gothic vision of ruined castles and such. (Beautiful in building yet strange in falling apart.) I like it. (I like ruins.) The quotation also implies balance of a sort. Just as your maintaining for yourself. I’d say you’re in good company. Poe, by the way, is my favorite writer from the USA. Stay well (balanced).

        I clicked on “Like” but don’t know if it took. Thanks to you, I’ve been thinking about Poe’s work and his voice. In his “Philosophy of Composition,” he argues that “ore” is the perfect sound for poetry. Something he certainly makes use of in “The Raven.” Sorry, it’s an English-teachery bit I thought I’d pass along.

    I took the same thoughts from the quote as you did… it’s a great one! Getting rest is good! I’ve finally been feeling normal and went for a long, fast bike ride with a friend with whom I haven’t been able to ride all season due to other commitments or getting sick or injured. I was really spent after but it felt good. As for what I’ve been listening to, I’ve been delving into some rap, which is the genre I posted from last night. The Chappell Roan is catchy BTW!
