Six Word Story #218

Six Word Story:

Girl with rainbow coloured hair and headphones, painting a rainbow and rainbow flag on cheek. Birds in the background, flowers in her hair | Six Word Story

Colours in my mind, painting rainbows.

About This Six Word Story:

This week’s six word story was inspired by Kevin’s NTT prompt for the week. He has so many great images as always, I was so inspired I have another post with one of his images ready to post after this one. You can check out his prompts for the week here.

I felt like I hadn’t written a SWS in so long, I wanted to share one. I think it hasn’t been that long actually but there was a time when I posted them weekly so now I always feel like it’s been two long since the last one.

Anyway, this SWS is about those of us that have creative and imaginative minds. I can’t speak for all creative people but personally I’m a very quiet and introverted person in real life. But in my mind, I’m constantly creating. My mind never shuts up and it drives me insane sometimes but I’m also grateful because it would be so boring if I didn’t have my imagination. That imagination helps me write which is the most important thing in the world to me. That’s what the image reminded me of and that’s what the SWS is about.

What did you think of this six word story? Do you have an imaginative mind like mine or does yours let you live your life in peace lol? Let me know in the comments below because I would absolutely love to hear from you. And don’t forget to share your six word story or stories in the comments too. Or simply stop by and say hi!

I recently published my first book and would be very honoured if you took a minute to check it out here.

  1. For the most part, I’m not the creative type. My mind lets me alone 😀
Which is great, until I WANT to be creative and can’t. But just like any other natural limitation, I’ve learned to accept it. I’ve also learned to accept that those who are creative are blessed BUT have to deal with any downside. Which you so ably described! 🙂

    1. Yeah, I think there’s always pros and cons. I was on this medication one time that made my brain go silent and it was terrifying. I was so uncomfortable the entire time and that really made me appreciate my imagination more.
      Thanks! 😀

  2. Beautiful! I love these 6 word stories and yours matches up so well with Kevin’s image 🌈 ✨

    1. Aw thanks so much! 😊🌈

  3. I guess creative, my heads full of music all the time, but also seems like its fill with rabid raccoons…..

    1. I so know that feeling 😩

  4. Nope, no peace for my mind. It just keeps on tossing and turning. 😆

    1. Lol it sure does 😅

  5. It is a beautiful picture/six words combo and I think it depicts creativity very well.

    1. Thank you so much, really appreciate it.

  6. The sparrow delivered a hopeful message.

I have many notebooks full of ideas for stories, essays, songs, and inventions. Many ideas are only fragments and need a lot of work to complete. A lot of times, I get an idea just after I fall asleep or just as I wake up, so that is why many seem fragmented. I clearing out old files and found one of those notebooks today. I learned that I need better penmanship when I jot down those ideas, lol. I even found a notebook with goals listed and steps for achieving them. One goal was to build a website, so I guess I can check that one off.

    1. Aw, that’s a nice SWS.

I have the same issue, I guess it’s because our mind is least distracted right before we fall asleep or wake up. Yay, one goal down 😅

  8. Yes! I caught it in time for once! 😄
I didn’t get a ping, but I am one step ahead of WP for once. lol
Fantastic SWS, Pooja. I think a lot of us creative types have overactive minds. A blessing and a curse at times!

    1. Lol I wouldn’t expect anything more from WP 😅 Just a heads up because I’m sure you won’t get that pingback either, I’ll be posting another prompt response on Saturday.

Thank you, yes it has its pros and cons but at the end of the day what would we do without our overactive, creative minds!

  9. 🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

  10. Anyone who writes must have a visual mind.

    1. That’s true and I very much have that.

  11. I exist more on the introvert spectrum, though I may be talkative to the right people or non boring conversations. I really hate small talks. They’re boring.. that’s why I more often stay alone and venture into my inner world.

    1. I’m the exact same way. When I get comfortable I do talk a little more but am still pretty introverted in general. And small talk is the worst, it has no real value.

  12. Beautiful thoughts!

  13. I only have my imagination. I don’t go out anymore except to get food. I don’t talk to anyone anymore because I only get out half a sentence before they withdraw their attention. In my imagination I know what I meant to say if they were to say x, or y, or z, but they always surprise me with Q, and I have no quick witty answer. I will have a witty answer later in my imagination. I once had a conversation on an old-fashioned telephone (before there were computers) with a woman who posted in the newspaper. After a while my ear started to hurt a lot from the giant ear piece pressed against my ear. I looked at the clock and 12 hours had gone by. She didn’t want to see me in-person. She preferred my imaginary self. Maybe I became like an audio novel rather than a real person. You can’t date a person from fiction — you can only read about it. So now I’m totally fictional. Me in six words? (never)

In my imagination I speak well.

    1. I get what you mean, I think I’m a lot more coherent and eloquent in my mind too.

  14. A good one. Thanks for sharing!😁

    1. Thanks so much! 😊

  15. delightful, Pooja…. beautifully done…🤍

    1. Thank you ☺️💕

      1. most welcome…🤍🌷

  16. Beautiful story and image

    1. Thanks so much.

      1. Most welcome my friend

  17. Love this! I have a creative mind too and I get what I believe is my best writing done in the night. It’s like I wake up at bedtime 🤣

    1. Thanks so much! I’m the same, I write way past midnight 😅

  18. I write my best either early in the morning or late afternoons. It really depends on my mood. I have to stay focused on the present or else my mind just wanders 🙂

    1. I’m the opposite, I can only write at night. But same, it depends on my mood 🙂

  19. I love that you are constantly creating in your mind, Pooja! Beautiful!

    1. Aw, thanks so much!

  20. Your six-word story is perfect for the image, Pooja. My mind is always creating something and there are times when I wish I had an on/off buttton. LOL

    1. Thanks so much. Lol, I know that struggle but one time I took some meds that really did switch my brain off and it was not as fun as I thought it would be 😅

      1. That would be scary! I like to be in control of my mind. 😶

        1. Same here. It was definitely scary, I couldn’t even visualise anything. Worst experience I’ve had with meds and being ill.

  21. I love these micro stories. I use them in my teaching, to help students figure out how to concisely say what is important.

Your phrase–“Colours in my mind”–that is a keeper.

    1. That’s great, yeah they’re a good way to show how much can be said with few words. I remember learning that only about 80% of your first draft should make it to the second draft because it’s important to get rid of unnecessary words.
      Thanks so much!

  22. Beautiful interpretation in SWS form, Pooja <3 and Kevin's image paired perfectly! How'd that eye appointment go? I have to get new glasses or wear them. To weirded out to have Lasix or put anything in my eyes (lol). Sorry for two comments in/on one post. My takeaway is to be grateful for our imaginations and you've translated this sentiment exceptionally, as you always do!

    1. Thanks so much! I didn’t end up being able to go for the appointment because it was raining too much 😩 I feel like I’ll never get new glasses lol. Yeah I don’t think I could do laser or contacts daily. Laser is too scary and contacts get annoying haha.

No worries and yeah we should be grateful for our imagination. It’s such a wonderful gift. I went two days without mine when I was too sick to use my brain and it was the worst. Thank you!

      1. You’ve got to go, when the rain clears up b/c well, you could speak it (app) … still, though without editing! Eeks! I have found writing improves my health overall, so I would be much crazier without it (lol). Oh, I watched the first couple episodes of Evil (Woah, George!) and am hinky on continuing (haha). Did you ever see the series Grimm? I so hope you feel 100% instantaneously and your weekend bright ~ <3

        1. Oh absolutely, I’m running to the optician as soon as the rain stops lol.
Absolutely, we’re so much less crazy thanks to writing. I was just thinking the other day that I would lose it if I didn’t have my outlet of writing.
Oh yay, it gets scarier as the season goes on so don’t watch after dark lol 😂
          No is Grimm good??
Thank you, have an awesome weekend too!

          1. It’s true … LOLOL (keep writing) I don’t scare easy, and that thing freaked me out (hahaha). Grimm I binged watched last year … wish they’d bring that back or convert into a movie! I will watch the other show 😉 in broad daylight at 10:00 am and never sleep again! Honestly though once she realizes her daughter experienced the same George, why she didn’t have everybody’s bags packed and at a hotel, is beyond me! Love her mum though and what’s up with husband? Okay, I will still watch, cringing under the covers! Happy Weekend <3

            1. It’s so funny because I scare so easy but that show never freaked me out at all. Grimm looks good, I’ll have to add it to my list!

Lol for real! When you find out just how crazy it gets, it’s so weird that she didn’t move them all out.

Can’t wait till you finish the show and we can chat about it properly. The last season is intense!

  23. I loved your beautiful story, Pooja, and I hope you have a good weekend ahead. 💞

    1. Thank you, it’s so nice to see you back after your break. Hope all is well with you. Have a good weekend too 😊💕

  24. I always look forward to your SWS posts, Pooja. This one does not disappoint. Kindness, hope, beauty, creativity, goodness, and love.

    1. Aw thanks so much, really appreciate that. And loved your addition.

  25. boom bam so hard on ten pages maam.

    1. Oh hey, long time no see!

      1. i can only read ten pages a day. the prose merits contemplation.

  26. Good work! (It’s a colorful world, nearly everywhere.)

    1. Thank you and loved your six word addition!

  27. The bird said, “Color your hair.”

    1. And she complied 😅

  28. I love this image and will be using it too. I also love your six-word story, Pooja.

    1. Thanks so much and excited to see how you use the image. It’s one of my favourites from Kevin.

  29. I feel like there’s a surprisingly lot underneath this, as though it’s a journal cover.

    1. Ooh I can totally see that, it would make such a cool cover for a journal!

      1. And I’m sure you would fill it to overflowing. <3

        1. Aw thanks ☺️

  30. What a beautiful visual in just 6 words! 💞💞💞 My mind won’t let me rest often either….my muse is always chattering at me, and sometimes she even makes sense!

    1. Thank you!
Haha same here, I think most of us creatives have that problem 😅

  31. Leading to the pot of gold

    1. That’s such a good continuation 😃

      1. Thank you ☺️ glad you liked it

        1. You’re very welcome and I very much did 😊

  32. Highly visual and beautifully illustrated

    1. Thank you so much.

    1. Thank you ☺️

  33. Very pretty I like this one 🤣😎🙃

    1. Thanks ☺️

  34. I like the six-word stroy and your description of it. Imagination is such a magical thing that can give us so much if we open up to it. We can use it to make the world better for others and ourselves, and to have fun and adventures.

    1. Thanks so much and I so agree!

      1. My pleasure!

  35. Beautiful picture 💓

    1. Thanks ☺️

  36. Beautifully done

    1. Thank you so much.
