Stoic Quotes That Will Change Your Life:
“Never regard something as doing you good if it makes you betray a trust, or lose your sense of shame, or makes you show hatred, suspicion, ill will, or hypocrisy, or a desire for things best done behind closed doors.” – Marcus Aurelius
“Sometimes even to live is an act of courage.” – Seneca
“And he cares nothing for their praise—men who can’t even meet their own standards.” -Marcus Aurelius
“Don’t waste the rest of your time here worrying about other people—unless it affects the common good. It will keep you from doing anything useful. You’ll be too preoccupied with what so-and-so is doing, and why, and what they’re saying, and what they’re thinking, and what they’re up to, and all the other things that throw you off and keep you from focusing on your own mind. You need to avoid certain things in your train of thought: everything random, everything irrelevant. And certainly everything self-important or malicious.” -Marcus Aurelius
“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.” – Epictetus
“You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.” – Marcus Aurelius
“The soul becomes dyed with the colour of its thoughts.” – Marcus Aurelius
“If anyone tells you that a certain person speaks ill of you, do not make excuses about what is said of you but answer, ‘He was ignorant of my other faults, else he would not have mentioned these alone.” – Epictetus
“It can ruin your life only if it ruins your character. Otherwise it cannot harm you—inside or out.” – Marcus
Aurelius
“If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favourable.” – Seneca
