Travel Poster Paint By Numbers Kits That Make You Feel Like You’ve Been There

Note: “Travel Poster Paint By Numbers Kits That Make You Feel Like You’ve Been There” is a guest post.

I’ve learned something after years of blogging about creative escapes: adventure starts with a brush, not a boarding pass. When my bank account says “stay home,” I crack open a travel poster paint by numbers kit. One playlist, one cup of tea, and suddenly I’m strolling the beaches of Brazil or smelling spice in a Marrakesh market.

After testing piles of kits, three earn permanent space on my shelf. They all come from the same shop I trust—take a peek at the full line-up on Davincified paint by numbers if you want the same armchair journey. Below, you’ll find why each scene works, how long it takes, and a handful of tricks to help your finished piece look print-shop perfect.

Why Travel-Poster Art Still Sparks Wanderlust

Travel posters first popped up in the 1920s, when railroads and steamships needed eye candy. Their style still hooks us today because:

  • Big, clear shapes make painting relaxing; no squinting at micro details for hours.
  • Bold color blocks stand out on any wall and hide tiny brush slips.
  • Built-in nostalgia taps that part of us that dreams in postcards and road maps.

Mix those traits with modern acrylics, and you get a hobby that doubles as décor—and a mini vacation for the price of a pizza night.

The Three Kits That Take You Places

1. Rio de Janeiro Paradise – Paint by Numbers Kit

  • Time investment: 14 – 18 hours
  • Skill level: Beginner friendly
  • Color mood: Turquoise surf, sunny yellows, deep greens

Why it wins me over

Nothing says “day off” like Copacabana’s curve, Sugarloaf Mountain in the back, and sailboats skimming a teal bay. Large sky and sea sections mean you can find your rhythm fast, and the bright palette lifts any cloudy afternoon.

Painter’s cheat sheet

  1. Start with water. Long horizontal strokes keep wave edges smooth.
  2. Palm leaves last. A fuller brush makes fronds look lush without two coats.
  3. Add sparkle. Once the sea dries, drag a nearly dry white brush across the surface for tiny sun glints.

2. Moroccan Minaret Travel Poster – Paint by Numbers Kit

  • Time investment: 12 – 15 hours
  • Skill level: Easy to moderate
  • Color mood: Sunset orange, desert gold, cool navy shadows

Why it wins me over

A tall minaret framed by an arched gateway and swaying palms—it’s Marrakesh at golden hour. The warm tones pair nicely with dark accent walls and wood furniture.

Painter’s cheat sheet

  1. Blend the sky wet-on-wet. Orange into peach gives a natural dusk gradient.
  2. Deepen shadows. Stir a touch of navy into brown areas; depth jumps off the canvas.

Tiny windows. Use the smallest brush, steady your elbow on the table, and breathe—slow is smooth.

3. Welcome to Japan – Paint by Numbers Kit

  • Time investment: 16 – 20 hours
  • Skill level: Moderate (many color swaps)
  • Color mood: Candy-red pagoda, sakura pinks, crisp sky blue

Why it wins me over

A pagoda rises among cherry blossoms, with a bold red sun and Mt. Fuji in the backdrop. The contrast between big sky blocks and tiny blossoms keeps boredom away.

Painter’s cheat sheet

  1. Change water often. Red and blue muddy fast; fresh water keeps hues bright.
  2. Pop the petals. Dot a bit of white over dry pink blossoms for instant depth.
  3. Seal with satin varnish. Gives the scene a gentle glow without harsh glare.

My Simple Painting Plan

Steal whatever helps, ignore the rest—this hobby should stay fun.

  1. Flatten first. Iron the canvas back on low heat, parchment on top. Flat canvas, happy painter.
  2. Block big shapes. Sky, sea, or walls—large areas boost momentum.
  3. Rinse often. Clean water every two colors keeps pigments true.
  4. Take micro breaks. Stand, stretch, sip something. Fresh eyes spot errors early.
  5. Seal the deal. A satin acrylic varnish protects colors and smooths minor brush ridges.

Creative Ways to Show Off Finished Posters

  • Kitchen coffee corner: Rio scene brings sunshine to morning espresso.
  • Home office wall: Morocco’s warm glow turns work emails into mini getaways.
  • Reading nook: Japan’s sakura pink feels like spring all year.

Gift idea: Roll the canvas in brown paper, tie with twine, and slip a luggage tag under the bow. Instant travel-themed present—no wrapping paper meltdown required.

Quick-Read FAQ

Do I need extra supplies?

Only a cup of water and a few paper towels. The box includes canvas, paints, and three brushes.

I’m brand new—will I manage?

Yes. Start with Rio or Morocco for larger shapes. Japan has more color changes but nothing too tricky.

Why pick Davincified over the rest?

Because they bundle five big wins into one box:

  1. Premium materials – thick, vibrant paints that cover in one pass and a linen-blend canvas that stays perfectly flat.
  2. Easy customization – live preview tools let you crop, rotate, or adjust color count before you buy, all backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  3. Smart technology – an AI sectioning engine breaks images into clear, logical shapes, so numbers are easy to read and the final piece looks impressively detailed.
  4. Massive design variety – the catalog is huge already, and they drop around 50 fresh kits every single day, so there’s always a new destination or theme to try.
  5. Beginner-to-pro friendly – clear lines and high-coverage paints keep novices calm, while the fine detail keeps experienced crafters engaged.

End result? Less hassle, richer colors, and a poster-worthy painting that feels anything but “paint by numbers.”

How long does shipping take?

Roughly a week inside the EU and 10–15 days elsewhere. A tracking link lands in your inbox once the parcel ships.

Can I turn my own photo into a kit?

Absolutely. Upload a picture on Davincified’s site, crop or rotate in the preview, and order once it looks right.

One Last Brushstroke

Travel might be pricey right now, but paint is cheap and patience is free. A travel poster paint by numbers kit lets you surf Rio’s coast, wander a Moroccan courtyard, or breathe in Japan’s cherry blossoms—all from your dining-room table. So pick your destination, cue up a matching playlist, and let the numbered shapes guide your first step.

Happy painting—see you on the canvas road!

  1. This is a great post. I love the mixture or travel and painting. I so wish I could paint, but I have some trial and error coming.

As I am creative, I just be trying so many different outlets and it really transformed me as an artist, a person and my lifestyle.

My favorite piece is the one of Japan, as on say I will get there. Even. Learning Japanese for the day it comes.

    1. I think this would be a great option then since it’s numbered making it easier to paint. Japan is definitely really beautiful.

  7. Patience, you say cheap – I say I wish I could buy some, I have tried the paint by numbers and find I lack the ability to sit still and paint such tiny proportions. My daughter in law loves these though and her birthday is coming up – a great reminder for a present.

    1. Yeah, I’m sure she would love this as a present. For me, it depends on my mood. When I’m in the right mood I can sit and paint for hours. If not, I can’t sit for even a few minutes.

  8. That looks fun and relaxing. Great pictures too!

    1. Yeah, a fun and relaxing activity!
