What’s Up With Pooj?

Some of you may be wondering why I decided to take a sudden break from blogging. And to that I say, well that’s a nosy question… Lol just kidding of course. I would never judge someone for being nosy being as I am lol. The truth is, my mum had been in the hospital and so I had to take on more of the cooking/housework. She’s back now and recovering but it’s still a lot more responsibility on our end which is why I thought it would be best to take a break for a bit. However, I’m back and hope to start blogging regularly again!

I really missed interacting with everyone here and I’m glad to be back. I have quite a few posts ready to share but I will let you know in advance that I will still probably not be posting as regularly just yet because I still have a lot more responsibilities I need to prioritise.

Oh and I hope you enjoyed these Seneca quotes, these are the ones that have really stood out to me.

  1. Welcome back, Pooja, I am glad that your mum is home! 🙏🏻 There is much truth in those quotes. Seneca is also the name of an American Indian Tribe in the US. Be well!

    1. Thanks so much and that’s interesting, I didn’t know that!

      1. ☺️☺️☺️

  2. Great post, no man was ever wise by chance, Great Seneca quote

    1. Thanks so much, that’s a really good quote for sure.

  3. I am so sorry about your mom but I am glad she is back home. I loved the Seneca quote. My favorite was “No man was every wise by chance.” Failures, regrets, life throwing you curve balls, struggles, learning from others and from books, can make you grow.

    1. Thanks so much and yeah she’s back home and recovering well so far. Absolutely, that’s one of my favourite quotes from him too. It definitely takes a lot to grow as a person and often takes a lot of conscious effort.

  4. Glad to see your mother has recovered and yes the quotes were excellent.

    1. Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed the Seneca quotes.

  5. Good news that your mom is on the mend. Seneca was a wise man. Your selection of quotes represented him well

    1. Thanks so much and yes he was.

  6. I agree. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week.

    1. Thanks so much and have a great week too.

  7. A very important quote in the present times, it’s relevant

    Thank you for sharing, Pooja!

    1. Thank you so much and happy to share the quotes!

      1. In the morning I was in such rush that I read only the first quote. Because of the larger image size I thought the post contains single quote, and didn’t scroll down.

I hope your mother gets better. I wish her good health. Actually my mother is also facing physical weakness, mental stress and other problems.

Like you I do cook in the evenings, sometimes. It’s difficult to call a home a live home if we separate our interests; at home we share what we have with other members.

Do take care of yourself as well. Life becomes hard sometimes. Be kind to yourself and others. Don’t overthink, don’t worry unnecessarily.

        1. Ooh okay no worries and she’s thankfully better no. So sorry to hear your mum is struggling right now too, wishing her the best and hope she recovers soon. Take care of yourself too.

  8. I love the quotes. We suffer more in imagination is my favorite. Hope your Mom is feeling better. Glad you didn’t drop your phone in your cooking :). One of my house renovation projects is done and I am hoping to get another one complete by the end of the week, so I can get back to creative things.

    1. Same here, that’s probably my favourite Seneca quote and has helped ease so much of my anxiety. She’s already doing much better which we’re happy about. Lol I did drop my phone on my face yesterday though haha.
Oh nice, that’s great. Hope all goes well with the next renovation project.

      1. You should never protect your phone with your face, lol. Hope you didn’t get a bruise or anything.

        1. Lol I learnt that lesson the hard way. No thankfully no bruises, just an ouch haha.

  9. 🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

  10. Glad you mother is healing well. It’s great that you are there to support her recovery. I love the “No man was ever wise by chance” quote. Makes me ponder. 🙂 Beyonce and Dolly colab? When did that happen? I only recently saw Dolly collaborating with Motley Crue. @@

    1. *your

    2. Thanks so much. Yeah I just came across the song because it was trending on TikTok but had no idea they had a collab.

  11. It’s wonderful that you’ve been helping out while your mother is recovering!! You must be a great source of strength for her. Happy to hear your mother is healing.

    1. Thanks so much!

    1. Yeah, unfortunately we’re conditioned from a young age and in my opinion breaking free of that is a major way to have a good life. Thanks so much for the lovely comment!

        1. You’re most welcome, happy to share the quotes since they inspired me too 😊

  13. So glad to hear your mom is doing better! Love all the quotes but the one that resonates with me is about my anxiety: “We suffer more often in imagination than in reality.” It’s something I often tell myself when I’m about to step outside of my comfort zone.

    1. Thanks so much! That’s my favourite Seneca quote too, I’ve gotten into a habit of thinking about it every time I feel myself freaking out and it’s really helped.

  14. I was honestly thrilled to see your new blog post notification on my phone 😂☺️welcome back…and I wish your mom speedy recovery. ❤️

    1. Aw thank you so much 😊❤️

  15. Wishing God health and recovery for your mom Pooja. Take care. Lovely quotes.

    1. Thanks so much, really appreciate it.

      1. You’re welcome my dear friend

  16. Dealing with family sickness or hurt is always tough, mainly because there is very little “you” can actually do to make it better. I am glad to hear that you stepped up and started taking over some of her responsibilities though.
I also hope that you can establish a new normal very soon.

    1. Yeah, I think that’s one of the most difficult things not being able to do much to make it better. Thanks so much, things should be back to normal in a month or two which I am looking forward to.

  17. I am sorry to hear about your mum, and glad she is home. I enjoyed the quotes, especially the last one. Welcome back, Pooja!

    1. Thanks so much, she’s doing much better now. Glad you enjoyed the quotes! 😊

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja.

  18. I will be praying for your mum. My family is tent camping this weekend. Glad your back!

    1. Thanks so much! Ooh wow that sounds like a lot of fun.

  19. Glad you are back Pooj 🙌😆.

I am sorry to learn about your mum; I know she means everything to you and her condition must have been very worrying. I wish her a complete recovery and I extend all of my best wishes to you both 🤗🤗. I haven’t properly checked out the Seneca quotes yet but I sure will 👍👍😆

    1. Thank you ☺️ Yes, it was quite stressful but I’m glad she’s slowly but surely recovering 🤗

      1. You are welcome PJ 🙌🥰; yes I definitely understand that and it’s so good that your mum is recovering and that you are with her every step of the way my friend 💌🙏😇🥰

        1. ☺️💕🙏

  20. Welcome back, Pooja, and I hope your mom is doing better. I love all the quotes; they’re profound in their own unique way. Take care! 💕

    1. Thanks so much and she is! Glad you enjoyed the quotes 💕

  21. I’ve definitely missed your presence here! So I’m selfishly glad you’re back. But most importantly, I’m glad to hear your mum is doing better and recovering so far! And I would say quotes three and four are my favorite quotes from all of these.

    1. Aw thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed the quotes and I think for me the fourth one is my absolute fav.

  22. Sorry to hear about your mom’s illness. Good to hear from you after a while. Speedy recovery to your mom and hope everything works out well for you

    1. Thanks so much, she’s doing better now.

  23. These are all great quotes, Pooja. Hugs to you, Sweet Lady.

    1. Thanks so much, hugs.

  24. Glad your mom is recovering and wonderful quotes you’ve shared. Life can wait. You’re a loving daughter. 💕

    1. Thank you so much. Yeah, she’s done so much for me I’m happy to help her in her hour 💕

      1. You’re so welcome and what a dear you are. 💝

  25. Hope your Mum is OK! Best wishes. Very good quotes. Putting them into practice is the difficulty.

    1. She’s much better now, thank you!

  26. Goodness, the quotations from Seneca, though ancient, come across as fresh as they are useful. Wisdom not by chance–that’s prudent. We should seek it. I’m sorry to hear about your mom and glad she’s better. I hope equilibrium in the home returns as she improves. WordPress let me now that you recommended my blog–thank you so much! I feel I’ve been dashing off lines while dealing with my own unhealthy situaton, which is environmental. I don’t know where the mold and mildew came from, but it’s been hard I guess especially with heart disease already challenging the function of my lungs. As you continue to be preoccupied, don’t feel the need to respond here. Feel free to take an easy breath instead.

    1. I felt the same way reading them, so much wisdom in the quotes and still so relevant.
Thanks so much. So sorry you’ve been struggling with your health too. I did read that on one of your posts as well. I hope things get better, that sounds very painful.

Sorry to hear your mother was ill. Glad she is recovering. Interesting sayings.

    1. Thank you so much.

  28. Welcome back, Pooja, and I hope your mom recovers well. The quotes are all great; hard to choose one over the rest.

As for music, I seem to be gravitating to a lot of ’80s stuff though I try to be pretty diverse in what I blog about. Life has been busy with family who were in from the UK and staying with us, then a new grandbaby, and close friends who moved, and my sweety’s dear friend’s husband died after a lengthy illness, so life has been full!

    1. Thanks so much! Oh okay, that’s really interesting. I do quite like some songs from the 80’s so I look forward to more posts about the songs you’re listening too. Wow, that does sound busy and so sorry for the loss.

  29. Hey Pooj,
I love the quote about suffering , it’s for sure is in my head. I’m grateful for this insight from Seneca.
Last week I worked and this week I’m working as well. Something I wanted to share from my recent news is my sister has just got back from the hospital. She went to Costa Rica with her boyfriend and was attached by an alligator. She is recovering quickly but this was a very unexpected accident. As my students would put it, I’m shook

    1. I love that quote too, it’s a good reminder to control our thoughts.
Oh no, that’s so awful. I can’t believe that happened to her. Glad to hear she’s recovering but I’m sure it was very shocking.

      1. I’m glad your mom is doing well

  30. Great quotes!!

    1. Thanks, glad you enjoyed them!

  31. Hope your mom is doing better now. I really like the first quote about hanging with the people who will help you improve. It is true that when you hang with those people, better things will happen. And thank you for the recommendation Pooj. Most appreciated.

    1. She’s much better now, thank you. Absolutely agree, the company you keep makes a difference.

  32. Love the Seneca quotes, they’re such good tidbits to chew on. Glad that your mum is doing better! That must be a relief!

    1. Glad you enjoyed them and yes very much so, I’m so glad she’s recovering well!

  33. Welcome back, Pooja! I hope your mom is healing well. The imagination quote struck me the most.

    1. Thanks so much, that’s my favourite Seneca quote and it just makes so much sense (at least to me)!
