Gloria Steinem Quote

Quote Of The Day

Gloria Steinem Quote:

Gloria Steinem Quote

What’s Up With Pooj?

Well, an incredible amount actually- thank you for asking. For one, my cousin brother surprised us and decided to visit as his college was on a break at the moment. I wasn’t surprised because I was in on it but everyone else was surprised and excited. So, for the rest of the month we’ll be busy hanging out and doing fun stuff. Expect lots of lifestyle and review posts in January!

In sadder news, the (harmless) spider I had grown close to that lived in my bedroom recently passed away. I’ve known it for years, I’m really heartbroken by the loss but I’m sure it’s in a better place now. RIP Hannibal (I called it Hannibal).

It’s incredibly hot in Kenya right now, like hot enough that I wake up all gross and sweaty most mornings. It’s summer for us so it’s not surprising, just incredibly annoying. I always miss Canadian winters that I had grown to love during this time of the year. Sigh.

Well, that’s pretty much it. Oh, expect a lot less posts in December. I will be super busy this month.

  1. spider huh? on a trip to Maui (actually our honeymoon) there was a gekko made our appartment wall home….it occasionally hid behind a framed picture….it was so cool. at times (at night it occasionally freaked me out…didn’t realize it was what was making that weird sound) ..sorry about the spider…

    1. Thank you. I love geckos we have so many of them here, they do make a lot of odd sounds and even hiss sometimes.

  2. Every creature is precious in this world. Including Spiders! I’m glad that Hannibal at least got to stay safe in your presence for all of those years! You’ve got such a great heart! R.I.P. Hannibal 💗

    1. Totally agree! Thanks so much, I’m happy knowing he had a good and long life. RIP 💗

  3. I’m listening to christmas music, and old songs from the early 2000’s! I hope you have a wonderful month hanging out with your cousin, and enjoy every minute that you spend together! Xx

    1. Ooh fun, I love Christmas songs! Thank you!

  4. Pooj, love the quote, I’ve been dreaming a lot lately , will let you know about my plans soon.
Lots of Christmas music is everywhere, even at work today. Sigh. I can handle that, I’m sure
As for the spiders, they are supposed to bring happiness, I guess your portion of happiness has been delivered, hopefully. Enjoy!
Last week was good, actually it was perfect. We discovered an Irish pub and a tea house that are super exciting so we will be back. After work on a rainy day there is a place to go. Yay
This week I booked a restaurant for our anniversary celebration, I’m ready to go eat lol

    1. Thanks so much. That sounds lovely, keep dreaming. It’s one of my favourite things to do actually. Christmas music can be great but drive you nuts if you listen for too long lol. Ooh the pub sounds so fun, glad you guys came across it. And have a lovely anniversary!

      1. Thanks, I am so looking forward to it

  5. Great quote

    1. Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

  6. I am sorry for your loss. It might not be common to grieve the passing of spiders but I understand it and it shows compassion. I like the Gloria Steinem quote. In many projects you first need to brainstorm and explore possibilities and dreaming does that.

    1. Thanks so much. So true, I think most projects start out as dreams.

  7. I hadn’t really thought of spiders in the after life. So sorry for your loss. How fun your cousin is there!

I totally agree with the Steinem quote. In fact, dreaming allows us to take all the guardrails off!

Sending you best wishes for the rest of the year, Pooja!

    1. Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed the quote and wishing you the same!

  8. I love the quote. An old boss of mine used to say “if you fail to plan then you plan to fail”. I don’t know if you would like the Canadian weather this past week. We had minus 24 with minus 39 windchill a couple day ago and today it was plus 5 and everything was melting with very slippery icy patches. Wednesday we are supposed to be back at minus 24 again with a large snowfall. On a positive note, Santa will have snow for his sleigh. Sorry to hear about your loss of Hannibal. Have a great visit with your family.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote, planning is such an important part of success.

Haha that sounds a little too cold even for me but it’s probably nice when you’re inside and cosy.

      Thanks so much.

  9. I agree that dreams- whether awake or sleeping point us towards future goals.

    1. Absolutely, they allow us to see things more clearly.

      1. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

  10. Great quote 🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

    1. Glad you enjoyed it 🙏

  12. a profound quote…and those commas, make a world of difference.

sorry about your spider friend , Pooja … (🥴spiders scare me..lol)

enjoy your December with your busy… and may it full of fun…🤍

    1. Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed the quote. Have a great December too 💗

      1. 🌷🤍🌷

  13. I am an expert at planning!

    1. That’s great!

  14. Ohhh, I’d kill for some of that summer heat right now. Yesterday it was -15 to -17C with the windchill all day. And I bet you’d kill for some of that cooling temps.
Isn’t it funny how we’re always wanting it to be different than it is? You wait, come summer time I’ll be complaining about the heat, completely forgetting all this cold, hahahahaha 🙂

    1. Oh for sure, in summer you’ll be missing winter 😅

  15. Hot here too Pooja! Christmas shopping in the snow must be such a lovely experience

    1. It was very fun having snowy Christmas’s. Oh yes, I’m sure it’s even hotter there!

  16. Some of my best ideas come out of dreams or after sleep. The old brain’s churning away!
Glad you’re enjoying yourself. Life passes so quickly. You hardly get started!

    1. So true, our mind is such an intricate and fascinating thing!

  17. i love the quote, and hope you have a lot of fun this month!💓 sorry for Hannibal.

    1. So glad you enjoyed it and thank you, have a fun month too! 💗

  18. Oh, no! Poor Hannibal! 🥺🥺🥺 Every living thing must stop at some point. It’s always a heartbreaker.

I’m glad you’ll be making new and beautiful memories with your cousin-brother soon!

    1. Yeah, we get so attached so it does hurt even when we know it’s natural. Hannibal was such a sweet thing- it moved here with us unprompted and I was so pleased to see him in my room again.

      Thank you! ☺️

      1. You’re most welcome.

  19. I wish my dreams would leave the lists written out for me in the morning, lol.
Sorry for the loss of your room mate Hannibal. 💔

    1. Haha don’t we all. Thanks so much 💗

  20. I’m thankful for the surprise family visit. And if December ends up way too busy, then I hope you also have time for rest and/or reflection. Even if that means less time and space here (sadly). I’m sorry for the spider. I had a visiting field mouse for a time that (whom) I got used to. Sorry, too, for the Kenyan summer heat. Shall I tell you we had some snow yesterday? Well, I did.

    1. Thanks so much. I’m sure I’ll still post a little and will of course try to stop by everyones blogs. Enjoy the snow while you can, you’ll miss it in summer!

      1. No, because I’ll have my fruit trees back. 🙂

        1. Ooh I see, enjoy your fruit trees and the fruits. I love fresh fruits in the summer. 🙂

          1. I shall, in some months yet.

Nice quote. Hope though busy it is a happy month for you.

    1. Thank you so much, I hope it will be. Glad you enjoyed the quote.

  22. I’m sorry to hear about, Hannibal, and I agree with that quote. Dream on, dear Pooja! 💕

    1. Thank you so much 💗

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja.

  23. I totally agree with Gloria’s observation.

    1. Glad to hear it, I do too.

  24. You called your spider Hannibal 😂! Guess it appropriate though, after all they do eat their partners after mating, I think 🙂.

    1. Yeah, some of them do that which is where the name came from 😅

  25. Love the post. 😉

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  26. We create more in dreams and they rise from our unconscious and often that’s all that’s needed. So glad you’re having fun with your cousin. Awwww sorry about that.. I hope lizzy is still alive!!! xxx

    1. That’s so true, our thoughts definitely affect our real life! Thanks and yes Lizzy is well 💗

  27. I had no idea that spiders could live that long. Fascinating!

    1. Yeah, they usually live up to three years- these one do at least!

  28. Always planning / dreaming ~ Love the quote! I’m so sorry about Hannibal (fab name!) … Been jumpy about spiders but saw a really cute one on IG that became a pet (what?!) but was super photogenic! Become a plant parent! Oh, and I pray cool breezes reach you … here we have flash flooding warnings later! :-0

    1. Thank you. Some spiders really are cute, Hannibal sure was, but others freak me out lol! Ooh that’s so nice, I’ve tried being a plant parent but they just die on me 😅
Oh no, be careful- I guess the weather is rough since it’s winter.
