What’s Up With Pooj?

I wanted to share this Oscar Wilde quote this week because I finally finished reading The Picture Of Dorian Grey. When I tell you that book is one of the greatest books I’ve ever read in my life I am not even slightly exaggerating. It is now in my top 2 and maybe not no. 2… If you haven’t read it yet, please do.

In other news, I’ve spent most of this month realising that I’m on the right path and the universe has put me exactly where I need to be right now. I’ve had one of those months where I’m wondering if I’ve made the right decisions with some personal stuff and then I wake up and see that I absolutely have. If I had made decisions out of desperation I would be absolutely miserable right now.

I know I’ve been M. I. A. recently but I hope to blog more. I’ve been in a bit of a funk since I’m spending more time with marketing my novel, Perfect. But I’m missing blogging too much so I’ll be dialling it back a little and trying to post more. I think that would make me much happier and as I said in my last post, this year I’m focusing on happiness more than anything else.

      I hadn’t heard that song before but what an interesting reference. If I’m not wrong, Dorian Grey, has been referred to in music lyrics multiple times. I love the way the book explores youth and the ugliness of what would happen if we had eternal youth. Yes, there are some that life to fetishise it in the most disgusting ways. It’s a shame.

    The Picture of Dorian Grey is one of those books that I intend to read, “some day” and somehow “some day” just hasn’t happened yet. I know you’re not huge on reviewing books, but that is one I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on. Mainly to help kick me in the butt to finally add it to my tbr, hahaahhaha 😀

    I read Dorian Gray awhile ago. English major, present. When I reread that quote, I was thinking of all the selfies people take of themselves. Not a favorite of mine but it seemed to fit the quote. Glad you are good.

    I think Wilde wanted to be quoted, and he certainly is quotable. The spectator, as it were, reflected in the art. It does make sense out of beholding. And art, in fact, requires the spectator to be meaningful. Hmm, he certainly can be thought-provoking. And I think the story of Dorian Gray is grand. I’m pleased that you like it so much. Most importantly, I’m happy you are good with where you are. Few things can be more satisfying.

      Most of the book is quotable and I’m sure Wilde wanted it that way. The quote makes so much sense especially for TPODG because it had audiences on both extremes either hating or loving it. In reality, it would really depend on a person’s own thoughts, philosophy, morals whether they enjoy it or not. Thanks so much.

    This is true for each of us. The universe loves us, has our back and is working things out on our behalf. We just need to keep taking those baby steps forward and trust that everything is being shifted around for our best.

    I had to think on that quote for some time. I suppose we are all spectators to what we see whether it happens to be life or an artist’s description of a snapshot of life as he or she sees it. So ultimately the one who sees is the spectator whether of art or reality.
