Baked Baking And Books

When I’m feeling down, I do some baking. And/or get baked lol. A lot of the times, both. Today, I decided to make some high protein bagels and this was actually my first time making them. They turned out absolutely perfect though and I was so happy with them. I had one for lunch/brunch and it was delicious. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any cream cheese so I ate it with my famous chickpea salad. When I eat high protein stuff I also eat high fibre to balance things out if you catch my drift lol.

Baked Baking And Books | High Protein Bagel

Onto the books. Although my book is no longer on sale, a good blogger/writer friend has their book on sale right now. I’m sure you guys know Alex Diaz/Granados- I’ve read and reviewed his writing here before. Well, he has The Jim Garraty Chronicles: A Life Told in Four Movements available for free on Amazon. That’s right, it’s totally free which means you have zero excuse not to buy it!

The Jim Garraty Chronicles omnibus brings together three deeply personal stories tracing Jim Garraty’s early life through the 1980s — the friendships that shape him, the memories that follow him, and the quiet moments that become turning points. This omnibus includes Reunion, Reunion: Coda, and Comings and Goings, forming a reflective portrait of a young man navigating time, loss, renewal, and the people who leave lasting marks on his life. As a special addition, this collection also features The Summer of Two Movies, a bonus origin story set in 1977.

I have enjoyed each one and would so recommend taking advantage of this offer! You can purchase it on Amazon:

Thanks, Pooj, for the kind mention!

The “free book” offer is for the Kindle edition, since Amazon doesn’t allow “100% discounts) on print editions. It’s good in Amazon U.S. and runs through Friday, November 6, 12 AM Pacific Time.

  3. Your bagel looks delicious. I’ve made homemade bagels before using the 2-ingredient “cheat” recipe. I’m one of those ppl who only eats bagels with cream cheese.

    1. Thank you, yeah I think cream cheese is the best with bagels. Such a perfect combo but I had to make due because I was too lazy to go to the grocery store for just one thing LOL 😂

    2. Aww thank you! Definitely healthier but doesn’t hit the spot like cream cheese hehe. Thanks for checking out his book, I’m sure you’ll love it!

      1. Absolutely not, let’s be honest.. You’re so welcome! xxx

  9. how do you make a bread item high protein?

    1. Adding tofu to the dough and if you’re okay with dairy you can add cottage cheese to the dough. So one cup of ground tofu or cottage cheese + one cup of flour + salt + baking soda. Turns out delicious and higher in protein.

      1. Interesting! I’ve never heard of that before. Well, now I know 🙂

  10. Well done!

    Best wishes to Alex!
