I’m back with another restaurant review and this time I’ll be reviewing Troy Restaurant and Bar. We went to this lovely restaurant a couple of months ago and I thought I would share my full experience with all of you today.
Shoutout to my cousin brother for the lovely images and experience!
The Vibe
Troy Restaurant is located in Gem Forest which is one of the most visually appealing places I’ve been to. This was out second time there but our first time at this restaurant. It’s quite beautiful and has a lovely view of Nairobi.

The Food
The food served at Troy Restaurant is fusion Mediterranean cuisine.
We started with some pita bread, hummus, baba ghanoush, and asparagus tzatziki. This was hands down the best of each dish that I have ever had. The hummus and baba ghanoush in particular was so well flavoured, light, and delicious.

For the main course we started with some crispy polenta with mushroom ragout and oh my gosh it was amazing. The ragout wasn’t too sour and had a hint of sweetness to it which balanced it out perfectly and went very well with the polenta. We also got some fries (of course lol!) which were crispy on the outside and nice and soft in the middle.

We also got the mushroom luhmacun which was probably my least favourite dish. I like mushrooms but they have to be cooked a certain way and this felt like it was too much mushroom and they weren’t cooked well enough for my liking. One of my cousins loved it though so I think it’s more of a personal preference thing. Another baked dish we got was the za’atar onion pide which was quite delicious. I enjoyed the za’atar seasoning a lot. We tried to be healthy and get some seared halloumi salad which I don’t remember trying but from what I heard it was good but nothing to write home about.
Lastly we got the lavash bread. I had no idea what to expect but I didn’t expect it to be thin and crispy. But I love crispy food so it was actually a pleasant surprise. It was pretty good and had some delicious seasoning on it. It slightly reminded me of sangak.

Overall
The food and experience was lovely. The food was fresh and delicious, the staff was extremely helpful, everything came pretty quickly. This was the best Mediterranean food I’ve had in Nairobi. If you’re ever in the mood for something healthy, tasty, and flavourful, do check out Troy Restaurant and Bar.
