You took my love
You took my heart
You took my pride
You took everything from me
And left me to die
“You Took Everything” is a poem that first appeared on Lifesfinewhine. This poem was inspired by things I have been watching recently. As you may or may not know, depending on how long you have been following this blog, I am not a big fan of romance. I don’t often write poetry that has to do with romance, relationships or even breakups. And I rarely do serious relationships so when I do write about such stuff it’s not inspired by my experiences. However, most of what we watch online does have something or other to do with relationships. They are inescapable. And watching one of those shows about relationships is what inspired this poem.
Hope you enjoy “You Took Everything.” Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments below because I love hearing from you. And do let me know how you feel about relationships. Or simply stop by and say hi!

I like both the poem and the artwork! The image really helps capture the “scene” or image that you’re portraying throughout this dark poem.
Thank you so much!
