You hold me in your arms
As I breathe in your cologne
One hand on the small of my back
And one in my hair
I wrap my hands around your neck
Pulling you closer still
Holding on to you tightly
Because this is the last time I ever will
About “Tales Of The Heart”:
I had written a poem a few weeks ago and had mentioned how I have a difficult time coming up with names for my poems and a fellow blogging, Qonyike, suggested I “Tales of the Heart” which I absolutely loved and now I’ve finally been able to come up with a poem that the title goes well with. I’m so happy to share it with you guys and please do check out their blog too because I would never have come up with that title on my own.
This poem is about love and how sometimes we have to let go of the person we love for whatever reason. They may feel perfect for you but in real life I feel like there are no happy endings. The whole happily ever after thing is a myth for many of us. But that’s just me and I tend to be very cynical so yeah.
Have you ever had to let go of someone you love? Do you believe in soul mates? Do you believe in true love? And do you believe in happily ever after? What did you think of “Tales Of The Heart”? Let me know in the comments below or simply stop by and say hi!
