Quote Of The Day #74

Quote Of The Day

Quote Of The Day:

Quote Of The Day, Quote, Inspirational Quote, Motivational, Motivational Monday

I rarely talk about the quote of the day I shared but I wanted to say a little something about this one. Which I think is fitting since Maya Angelou is someone I admire and am constantly inspired by. I have a tendency to be impatient. When I want something, I don’t like waiting for it. And when I do have to wait for it, I get really annoyed. I’m not a fun person to be around when things don’t go my way. And I am aware of that. However, as much as I freak out I also know that things are going to unfold in the way the universe wants them to and nothing can change that. I need to learn to be patient. Nothing happens overnight.

What’s Up With Pooja G?

Nothing. Why do you want to know? Why are you so obsessed with me?

Animated GIF

This gif reminded me of a funny story from my childhood. My sister used to watch a lot of music videos on TV and I would just sit with her and watch too. And in the 2000’s Mariah Carey was super popular and really beautiful and I was like totally obsessed with her. I used to watch her songs every day and wanted to grow up and be a singer like her. And look like her. In a non-creepy way, of course… I just loved her so much and thought she was so cool. The good old days 🥺

Anyway, back to the present. For those of you that are not Kenyan, today is a national holiday in Kenya. It’s Jamhuri Day or Independence Day. Thank you to everyone who fought for us to be free of the shackles of colonisation and colonisers.

I don’t have any big plans for today but since it’s a holiday everyone is home and relaxing. I made one of the best healthy dishes I’ve made since I started eating healthy. And then we binge watched the two episodes we had left of Wednesday. I am happy to report that Wednesday did not disappoint. Full review coming soon.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks quote of the day. Let me know if you did. How has your day been? What are your plans for the week? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. Why do you want to know? Why are you so obsessed with me? 😂 Nice one.

It’s hard to be patient when we want to see results, but patience allows us to deal with setbacks and enjoy the life we have.

    Good post!

  2. Happy Independence day, dear 🎉! Love the quote! Not much happening here except that Hector (my car) and I got into a slide to curb situation in the snow last Friday morning. Guess you’re happy not to have snow there! Got the estimate today (😬!) and he is being fixed, since I can go pretty much nowhere without him. Pray hard for us. We need funds for this, but I know, God will provide. Sometimes, though, I have that patience problem like you! 😉

  3. Actually, I have no problem waiting. Well, that’s most of the time. Sometimes I can be real impatient, but that’s for the little things.
    Happy Independence day!

  4. I’m also like you about being impatient and getting irritated and annoyed when things don’t work according to me, I’m not very proud of this but it just happens automatically.
Thank you for sharing this, enjoyed reading it!!

      1. Thanks, and me to, I am tired of being sick. It has really taken a toll on my body and sleep pattern. I can’t stay awake for sleeping all day long. I am surprised I am awake right now. I felt like cooking, so, I baked some chicken and made a vegetable salad with roasted sunflower seeds, green olives, black grapes, and spring mix with raspberry walnut vinaigrette salad dressing. It turned out perfect. I hope I will be able to taste it, my tastebuds have been thrown off due to a low grade fever I had. It is raining and foggy here in Texas, I hope the sun is shining where you are, but if not, enjoy the day anyway. Have a great week.

        1. Yes, I don’t know what’s going around but this flu is doing that. I was feeling really weak for almost three weeks and I slept a lot too. I still take naps every other day because my body hasn’t fully healed. I hope you were able to taste your delicious meal. Have a great week too.

  5. Happy Jamhuri Day! I’m glad you’re doing well. 😊

I just have work this week, gotta get some stocking stuffers and pick photos for a photo album gift 🎁 . What I really want to do is just go to sleep…💤

  6. My quote of the day is I have to put my peace first, I got it from another blogger. I am trying to repeat it so I do not forget it. I am putting my peace first. Or that doesn’t bring me peace. Mainly it is aimed towards my sister and her new narcissist boyfriend.

    1. Yes, your peace should come first. Sorry to hear about your sister and her boyfriend. Narcissists are incredibly difficult to deal with and they really destroy your life. Be careful and protect yourself.

  7. Happy Independence Day. Yes, time is needed for any achievement, such as love, bonding, friendship, skills etc. I know quickness always has its psychological advantage since one can get the gratification, but life has its own design about this and we can’t rush it.
