What I’ve Learnt From Blogging In 2022
I honestly cannot believe it is already almost 2023. It feels like 2022 just flew by. I think this year has gone by faster than any other year in my life. And I think a big part of it is because I had so much going on this year and there were quite a few ups and downs. I started working full-time online by offering services on my blog, I co-started a travel business with my sister, I changed my diet and lifestyle and so much more. But the biggest thing in my life this year has been blogging and that’s why I wanted to share what I’ve learnt from blogging in 2022.
As you may have noticed if you have been following me from the start of the year, I took some time off from blogging. I had blogged every day last year because it was a personal goal for me. And although I enjoyed it at first, it did also lead to burnout towards the end of the year because I had so much else going on at the time. I took January off and a bit of February and then came back to blogging with a lot more enthusiasm. And a plan on how I was going to run my blog this year.
I made a much bigger effort on my blog this year by making it SEO friendly, offering services, creating a new look for it and more. And I started blogging regularly and consistently. Thanks to that, I learnt quite a few things from blogging in 2022. Here are the main things I’ve learnt from blogging in 2022:
It’s Okay To Take Some Time Off
One thing I’ve learnt is that blogging is very time consuming and it can lead to burnout over time. And that’s why it’s best to take some time off now and again. I made sure to take some time to make memories and have some experiences. I created quite a few lifestyle posts this year because I took some time off whenever I could to go places and experience new things. So one of the biggest things I have learnt from blogging this year is that it’s actually a good thing to not blog sometimes. It helps you come back rejuvenated and excited to blog again.
Blogging Ain’t Easy
I know I make blogging look effortless but it’s actually really hard… Just kidding! I feel like a lot of people think blogging is really easy and it’s an easy way to make some extra money. I can tell you confidently that those people have never blogged because it’s quite the opposite. And the sad thing is that a lot of blogs that share content about blogging sort of further encourage these stereotypes by making it seem like it’s easy to make money blogging. Or to grow your audience.
The truth is, blogging is really more of a longterm venture. It takes a while to build your audience/followers. And on top of that you constantly have to keep coming up with new, fresh ideas for blog posts. So sometimes you end up phoning it in and writing some dumb post about things you’ve learnt from blogging in 2022… kidding! But it does take a lot of time, effort and energy to blog. Especially when you do it consistently.
It’s Important To Be There For One Another
We all know I’ve had my issues with WordPress, but one thing I love about this platform is how supportive everyone (almost everyone at least) is. I feel like we have a really wholesome community here. No matter what your new ventures are, what you blog about or who you are you will always find someone you can talk to here. And there will always be an audience for your blog. I think that’s something I want to do in my real world too. Support people and be there for them.
Be Yourself

What I am really thankful for more than anything when it comes to blogging is how it has allowed me to truly be myself. Not just in 2022 but in general. When I started blogging, I was just a confused teenager. And I was not in the best place with my mental health. But blogging allowed me to embrace who I really was. Before blogging I didn’t like who I was, what I looked like, my writing or really anything about myself. But thanks to WP I was able to find a group of people that liked my writing, appreciated my fine whining and gave me so many compliments. It was really great for my self-esteem and slowly I have grown more confident about myself. I could never have done that without blogging.
Conclusion
