Quote Of The Day, Peter Deunov Quote About Happiness

‘Sup With Pooj?

I’m enjoying switching up the titles for this category lol. You’re probably wondering why I am posting a Quote Of The Day post today. I generally take Sunday off and post on Monday. The truth is, it’s none of your business so stay out of it. Kidding. Actually, I already missed two days of posting this month and will miss more during the wedding next week. And I guess I miss you guys when I don’t post 6 days a week. So, I decided to post today as well!

Todays prompt from WordPress asks, “What’s your dream job?” I’ll answer it because I want to not because WP asked me to. There’s my rebel self that took over as a teenager, how I missed her. Anyway, what do you think my dream job is? That’s right. Being a historian. That’s what I’m trained to be and I love it. The only thing/subject I have ever truly loved is history. I can talk about it for hours. But alas, it’s very expensive to get a masters and PhD these days although I’m saving up. And people seem to think they can make up their own history these days. So being a historian isn’t what it used to be back in the day. Still, would be nice to be a historian. Like an actual one, not one that makes posts on WordPress for attention lol 😂

Did you enjoy this weeks quote? Have you done anything fun or new recently? What are your plans for the week? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear your thoughts! Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. “A true historian is a thing of the past.” That’s my post for today. Thank you for sharing. Oh and thanks for your previous post, if blogging is relevant in 2023.

  2. I haven’t done anything new lately but I will be on Monday. I would tell you what but I will most likely write about it after it’s done. Suffice it to say it’s kind of a community event I found on an app called MeetUp.

  3. You’ve got to be okay with yourself before you can venture forward. That’s my take on the quote. I find British history extremely fascinating, Pooja. More so than my own country’s history!

    1. Yes, absolutely. I think when you’re okay with yourself everything falls into place. British history is so interesting, I learnt a lot about it and really enjoyed it! But I preferred American history when picking courses because I had never learnt about it till university 😊

  4. “The truth is, it’s none of your business so stay out of it ”
    Haha love this.
Even after months I don’t know about your posting schedule. I only know that you post in morning (according to my IST).
    You know
Sup with pooj, can be a title of your blog series. I really love your unique titles anyway.
You are a title generator. 😏
This week we have republic day, so I’m thinking to capitalise the opportunity and write blogs and make infographics.
Yesterday, I thought to work on a blog but then it’s almost impossible to get alone time on Sunday. 😅
I did make an infographic, I’ll share that with my next blog.
    .
It’s great to know about your dreams and I pray that you fulfill them.
I now want to become a professional blogger, I know it’s hard, but I am loving blogging a lot.

    1. Thanks!
      .
Yes, days off/holidays are great for getting some blogging work done and keeping things ready in advance. I look forward to seeing your infographic 😊
      .
Blogging professionally is hard work but also a lot of fun. I hope you achieve this dream.

  5. Today I played card with my daughter, cousin, aunt, mom, and sister. We try to play once a month. I almost won for the first time in years but alas, my Aunt beat me by 20 points. This week I am going to the Embracing Our Differences meeting to discuss Gender Queer. Work, the usual.

    1. Thanks! I tried to apply for some history related jobs but it’s difficult because so many qualifications are required. I’m enjoying what I’m doing for now too. It’s quite fun and gives me a lot of freedom.

  6. I love History. The idea of it and it’s practical uses always intrigues me to no end. History is like that repository of knowledge that remains timeless. And I can respect anyone who works hard to preserve it 🙂 //

// I liked that quote. Happiness from within is the generation of joy. Having that skill is so powerful not only for ourselves but for those we have around us. I believe half the journey of getting to such a place is to make sure we’re not surrounded by people who can’t bring their own inner joy out and instead expect us to do it for them lo dangerous combo.

    1. Thanks. Yes, history is always relevant and needs to be taught/learnt/preserved.
      .
Absolutely. I think no one can bring us happiness but ourselves. We need to be happy from within to be truly happy. Yes, having good people around us who make us happy instead of bring us down is vital.

  7. Happiness begins within, so therefore it will show on the outside. I like your quote. This week I am going to try to work on chapter five and see how far I will get before writers block strikes again. My dream job is creating my skin care line when time comes. Have a great week. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks and yes I agree. Happiness is all about inner work. I hope you’re able to work on your book and yes writers block is a dreaded enemy of all writers. Wow, a skin care line would be amazing. I really hope that happens for you. Thanks and have a great week too.

  8. I love history a lot. I even wanted to continue studying that in higher secondary school but had to choose science (cause i want to become a doctor). Though my love for history is still intact. I’ll definitely continue studying it once i clear my medical entrance exam.😌💕

  9. Eh. I don’t think being a historian is a thing of the past. We’re making history everyday with the small things we do (does that make sense?), so historians definitely are needed. I think you’ll do great!

    1. Absolutely, history is always relevant. The only issue is that history as a profession isn’t what it used to be and there are very few well paying jobs in the field where so many qualifications are required. It’s annoying but it is what it is I guess. And anyway, I do enjoy freelancing too lol.

      1. There are quite a number of professions that are like that, and yes, it’s super annoying. And hey, I’m glad you have something doing that you love other than History!

  10. I’m not into history in a traditional sense. I like writing over history and adding what I want to it in a story, but history is a fascinating subject.

A historian is never outdated. People out there want to see facts as well, see how the previously known knowledge understood things and how the knowledge of today may or may not be accurate. I understand sometimes how money or lack of support can drive people away, but it’s worth trying. I definitely feel like it fits your personality.

    1. Thanks, I have tried but it’s so difficult getting the kind of job I would enjoy as a historian. Like the qualifications I would need would be too many. I can’t afford them at the moment. But of course, I will always keep looking and you never know. Something may pop up.

      1. DANG. I didn’t know it was that difficult. I wanted to be an archivist but these companies out here want wayy too much and they have amazing retention rates. I believe I’ll be working with souls and bones at this point so I’m hoping that a pigment scientist or something in chemistry with art will work out. Annoying. I’m in the same boat and it’s horrible because I neeed money.

      2. I hope it does! I wanted to go into archives but the retention rate is amazing so I wouldn’t be able to get a decent job.😩😭 As well, they require particular qualifications and a particular degrees that aren’t hard for me to get but I’m not sure if they’re worth it because there’s no certainty for a job.

Hopefully I can get a job as pigment scientist or something else in chemistry.

  11. Loved the quote of the day! It is so true! I am continually telling my kiddos that I can’t make them happy; they have to be happy themselves first and obviously not by looking for things outside of themselves!
As for new and exciting – I cut my hair a couple of days ago. It’s naturally curly, and most of the curl was weighed down by the weight. I figured I have a few months to let it grow back so I can put it up in the heat of Summer, so chop chop! It’s just below my ears and really cute! It bounces with the curl too! I even got up the courage to give a note to a gentleman that I would like to know better, inviting him to call me for coffee! Too exciting!

    1. Thanks so much! You’re right as much as we try we can’t make others happy. That’s all on them.
Omg how exciting! I’m sure you look great and hope he gives you a call!

  12. It seems that you need a master’s or PhD to get a dream job, or be extremely lucky. I have neither of those things so my career choice is writer, blogger, coach, and public speaker. I’m just starting out in all of them so I’m not exactly there yet.

    1. Yes, the qualifications expected these days are crazy. I found it very difficult to find work too so I decided to focus on freelancing. It’s tough at the start but I’m sure you’ll get to a place where it works for you.

        1. You’re very welcome, freelancing can be great. As a freelancer myself, I love it. If you ever need any help with freelancing, don’t hesitate to reach out.

  13. Missed your humor Pooja😋

A while back I read an amazing novel called “Captive”. Alas that’s as far as I remember of the title and author. It was about a historian going back in time.

So my image of historians are Keepers of golden times.
A great life choice Pooja.. All the best with that🤗🤍

  14. Your first paragraph made me lol 😁 You had me there for a sec. I loooove history as well!!! Military history, to be precise, but these days it’s hard to read (it’s dark, to say the least). Nothing interesting planned, just to relax. Take care! Have a great week!!

    1. Haha happy to hear that!
Yes, military history can be very interesting. It’s dark but interesting. Thanks and have a great week too!

  15. Yes, so true. Often when an idea comes up, it is fleeting, and it murmurs very softly. Often we don’t hear our own voice, since it is drown in the life’s bigger noises. Seriously, we all need to listen to ourselves to find happiness, talent, motivation, and direction…

  16. “What’s your dream job?” I’ll answer it because I want to not because WP asked me to. – this statement of yours made me laugh. Don’t let WP boss you around. Being a historian is a good job. Living history would also be interesting I think, such as the people who dress up and act like people from the past at a museum.

  17. Based on our limited interactions, I think historian really suits you. You seem to have a wealth of knowledge on a lot of subjects.

FWIW, some of my favorite blogs are history blogs.

  18. I was very bad at remembering dates and facts so I hated history when I was in school. Does’t it bothers you when politicians and people distort facts about history and spread fake version of history on social media for their benefit?

    1. I have never forgotten a date or fact to do with history so I love it. Yes, it annoys me so much. People these days make up their own “history” for selfish reasons.
