It's Gonna Be May Memes

If you know, you know. It’s officially May and of course I couldn’t resist using this meme. It has my generation in a chokehold we’ll never be free of.

I know most of you have already posted about the start of May and the end of April but I don’t post on Sundays so this post is coming in a little late. But it’s fine. It’s me. I’m always late for everything (DentMistry can back me up on that) so this is very me.

Anyway, April has been quite an eventful month for me and I am happy to keep sharing everything that happened that month. Look forward to some vlogs about my trip soon.

As for May, it didn’t start well. I’ve actually had a pretty awful day and I’m just looking forward to going to bed. I’m just done with today. Some days are just harder than others, you know. And that’s fine because. I’m never going to pretend like I’m okay when I’m not because you guys know I always keep it real with you. I want you to see me as a real human with ups and downs. I don’t like it when people fake perfection when they’re online.

Hope your May started out better than mine. I hope everyone has a lovely day ahead and a wonderful month of May. Do let me know in the comments how your first day of May went/is going and if you have any fun plans for this month. I really don’t, lol. And that’s okay because I plan to just concentrate on work and life!

  1. I am looking forward to Cinco de Mayo and other May celebrations which are plentiful. First of May used to be Labor Day with its famous motto: Peace! Work! May! This is exactly how I spent it, working with kids at school because Every Day Counts. (every day counts is the motto of the company I work for, it provides substitute teachers for schools)

    1. That sounds so fun! Yes, it’s Labour Day in Kenya too and I think that’s a great motto. Workers are so under appreciated and we need to remember how vital they are. Literally, the world stops when workers do.

  2. I’m sorry your May hasn’t started out well, but the good thing is there are 31 days this month, so you can count the 1st as a throw away. πŸ™‚

  3. Good day!

That was quite a rough start. Hope your next days will be better though.
As for the ‘fake perfection’, I agree we should be real with other bloggers as ‘real’ humans. LolπŸ˜…

I haven’t got any plans this month as well- just hoping it’ll be fine.

    1. Yeah, it got better today though.

Haha yes, we should always try to keep it real.

Hope you have a great month 😊

  4. Sorry you had a bad day! Sometimes it’s just best to given and call it a night when that happens. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

My day was pretty good, thanks. Did lots of exercise which always helps. Sunny but windy day. Spring has sprung!

      1. I’m glad today is better, and yeah, some are and it’s good when we can accept that.

Yes, finally, some sun! It’s a real mood lift.

  5. I think today was pretty bad across the board for me and the people in my life. I have a suicidal coworker whose dog died over the weekend. I’ve been fighting off allergy headaches for what seems like forever. Child #3 had a terrible day at school and was suicidal upon returning home. Child #4 is having throat issues due to some “organic growth” in our apartment. Not to worry – they’re fixing the biggest patch tomorrow and will continue until it’s all done. All in all, not a great May Day.

On the other hand, it could always be worse! We have a place to live. I have a job I love. I got some beautiful pictures of the back yard at sunset. We had a good dinner (thanks to Child #4!) So, yeah. I’ll take the wins wherever I can get them!

    1. Wow, that’s so sad. Hope things improve this month and start to look up.

Glad you were still able to make the best of a bad situation!

  6. I had a bad day too – it was pretty awful as well… I didn’t get out of bed today but didn’t sleep either. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day for you and me, and me and you (Peppa pig lyrics).

β€œIt’s gonna be May” is accurate. That’s what I hear too whenever I listen to that song by *NSYNC.

    1. I’m sorry about that. I spent most of yesterday in bed too. Today, I’m feeling better. Hope you are too.

Lol yeah, I can’t unheard it now!

  7. “I’m never going to pretend like I’m okay when I’m not.” That’s a beautiful line. I tried to be as real as that, but I often fail. I just can’t help being upbeat during the day even if I really want to curse, scream, or complain. Remember that line “life cheats us all–I am full of angst…” Hope I remember it correctly. Anyway, it is a same old same old day for me. Be strong. You often inspire me and I know you will be strong and you will prevail.

    1. I can be like that in real life too lol. I feel like it’s just appropriate to be calm and neutral in real life and that you would be looked at differently if you are honest about how you feel.
Thank you and stay strong too.

  8. I’m sorry this was not a good day for you. I spent my day with medical people–no emergency, just blood tests and consultations. Maybe the second of May will go better for everyone.

  9. My April ended badly, and today, May 1st was good. Still studying hard as ever, and I am enjoying learning new things. The weather was cool and sunny where I live. Everything is so green and pretty so far. Can’t wait to see how this month is going to turn out, and I can’t wait to see many more blessings coming my way. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week.

  10. Sorry your day didn’t go as anticipate, but not everyday is Monday. Everyday above ground is a great day, though So I hope you have a terrific Tues Pooja.

  11. I’m not tied to any month in particular, and I don’t have any expectations from any month. But I do from people πŸ˜ƒ
I’m sorry you had a bad day, and I hope today is better. 🌺

  12. Hey I like this song! I listened to it in relation to a guy once… and now we are married! Haha. I often say though that if he had chosen N*SYNC’s “Girlfriend” to dance to instead of Justin Timberlake’s “Like I Love Yuu”, I would have understood he felt the same a lot sooner! Lol. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a tough time of it as of late, hopefully your May will improve. Thankyou also for finding my new site! I couldn’t be public about all of my reasons for leaving but you found me again, yay Pooja! Lol.

    1. Aw that’s such a cute memory!

Glad I found your site again. I was actually wondering where you had disappeared to. And then I randomly found this site of yours and assumed you must have started a new site!

  13. As they say: “That’s just perfect.” The dictionary never tells me which phrase is sarcastic. Um, rain is reigning again like a majestic tear in the fabric of the universe. Speaking of drama: I once knew a gal named May. But today, May I say let May be May, and let her sister June be June, because April ran away with June’s boyfriend, a Rogue known as Dark Winters Smith who marches to a different drummer, though not a drummer boy, and May is still in love with the august Gus. None of these are in the right month and there are not enough months left to be made right. I think May looks like she’s in her third month. Names are afoot with omens and curses. Joy yet to be born.

  14. For me this month will be eventful as we are shifting to new place, so many things to do. And its little overwhelming just trying to stay calm. So I might not be able to post anything on WordPress or Insta. Good thing that there will be lot of bank holidays in UK this month 🀩.
But hopefully you’ll have wonderful rest of the Month πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡

    1. Wow, good luck with the move. I hope you settle well in your new place and get some rest. Thanks and have a great May too 😊

  15. I’m sorry to hear your month started poorly. But I love that meme. I’ve become a fan of the Britney Spears versions, “Just so typically May” and “My loneliness is killing May” but they’re trickier to use.
