Six Word Story #199

Six Word Story:

Flowers forever blooming in my mind

Six Word Story

About The Six Word Story:

So, what prompted this story? Well, as most great stories are originated, I was in the bathroom… I’m just keeping it real y’all. I come up with some really good stuff in there. And I can’t help it. Inspiration can strike anywhere and these days the loo seems like a popular place for this. Not sure why. That’s my therapists problem.

Anyway, back to this story. This weeks six word story is inspired by my mind that continues to overwork itself even though I specifically ask it not to. I’m sure many other writers have this problem, but it seems my brain does not know how to shut up. It is constantly thinking of one thing or another. And when I’m not thinking I’m still technically thinking because I’m daydreaming. I love my brain but it really is a gift and a curse. And even with all that thinking it decides to shut off the minute I sit down to write a blog post or work on one of my books. It’s just so exasperating. But I love my brain and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Would for a burger though.

Do you ever experience this? Experience issues with your mind never shutting up I mean, not experience coming up with random blog post ideas in the bathroom. Do let me know in the comments below and don’t forget to leave your own six word story too! Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. Oh absolutely! Every single second of my day, I am either thinking of something or the other. I think the only time when the mind is at rest is when I am sleeping lol

    1. Lol, I’m glad I’m not the only one!

  2. A mind that refuses to quit thinking even when requested is a great asset Pooja.

    1. Yes, very much so. But occasionally it gets annoying haha 😅

      1. Haha! Like when you’re trying to relax or sleep.

        1. Yes, especially when I need to sleep.

  3. I’ve never fallen out of love.

    1. That’s a beautiful and equally heartbreaking six word story.

        1. My pleasure.

  4. Restless mind full of vivid dreams.

    1. I love that, works perfectly with mine.

      1. 🙏🏾💙

  5. Love it!

SWS: Fear of misunderstanding would scare anyone

    1. Thanks!

Love yours too, it’s very true.

  6. Sweet scents from humming flapping mind.

    1. Love that six word story.

  7. I actually love this SWS
    Not that I didn’t like others 😅

It’s interesting and very true 😁

Sometimes yes, I want to stop my mind to think. It overthink and it hurts me. Like I remember I used to think a lot for some person( maybe some extra care) and it annoyed them. They never understand it’s importance and I got taken for granted 😂.

I think washroom is a place where we are at peace 🤭

PLEASE HELP ME CONTROL MY THOUGHTS- 6 words

    1. Haha thanks and yes perhaps so 😅

      Your SWS is very relatable.

  8. This is the problem with the brain. It keeps on thinking even when we want it to be at rest with itself. But…nay..it never stops. Sometimes, it becomes problematic and we begin to feel drained out. And when we want it to work, it stops then to our disappointment. And we cannot help.
So, a mind brimming with ideas can both be a blessing and a bane, depending upon the situation.

    1. Absolutely, your brain never stops and it can be draining sometimes. It’s just so difficult to control.

  9. Me too. I think all the time and often my thoughts are on trivial things, just to get things done during the day. My issue with my mind is that often it doesn’t want to do what needs to be done, especially when writing is concerned. It has no problem with routine stuff, but when it comes to writing, it has a strange eccentricity, which doesn’t care about needs, deadline, expediency, or other usual concerns. It can be excited about something for no reason, and can be eerily unexcited when I order it to be excited.

    1. I have the same issue. My mind is constantly thinking but never doing what it’s supposed to do when it comes to writing.

  10. A blooming mind is a gift, as you wrote. 💐 An overactive mind seems a common trait for creatives. ✨

    1. Yes, it seems so. It’s a beautiful gift that can sometimes be a cure 🙃

      1. Absolutely, yes. 😁👍🏻

  11. “the loo seems like a popular place for this. Not sure why. That’s my therapists problem.:
    Thanks for the laugh Pooja!
The incredible gift and curse of the mind. Excuse me while I bloom…. 🌺😂💗

    1. Haha glad you enjoy my humour! 😅

      1. Always! 😂😘😂

  12. Beautiful story and as you said inspiration can strike anywhere then why not bathroom 😜 Have a wonderful Sunday ☺️☺️

    1. Haha of course, it can strike anywhere. Have a wonderful Sunday too 😊

  13. “Flowers forever blooming in my mind”

thankfully safe from all… but me😉

as always, a wonderful story in your lovely 6 words🤍✨

    1. Aw love that continuation and thanks so much 😊

      1. always a pleasure 🤍

  14. Brain trader who lures with burgers.

A few lines in your post made me chuckle. Much needed. Thanks.

    1. Glad to hear that, we all need some humour in our lives. Really like your SWS too.

  15. Inspirations can strike us anywhere, so true.

    Loved the story!😊

    1. Haha thanks! 😊

  16. I have a blank wall in front of my bed. And I have deliberately kept the wall blank. Whenever I am stuck about a choreography idea, I simply stare at the wall. It’s a bit creepy but for me the wall is like an empty canvas or an empty stage where I try to visualise how my choreography will look like on stage.

    1. That’s actually interesting 🤩

I wonder if you stare the wall at the middle of the night, that would be super scary. 😆

But I like the idea 👏🏻👏🏻

      1. An idea can strike anytime 😁👻

    2. That’s such an interesting strategy. I think that’s great, a blank canvas to get ideas.

      1. Thanks Pooja. 😊

        1. You’re welcome 😊

  17. yup
    all the time
    at mass
    it came to pass
    yawn
    and wriggle
    on the floor
    hey there is the door
    whew~

    1. The brain never stops it seems.

      1. except when i fall down go boom!

  18. My mind never stops and I wish I had an on/off button sometimes. However, if my mind was stagnant and non-essential, I wouldn’t like that either.

    1. Yeah, I wish that too sometimes. But I’m grateful for my brain all the same.

  19. Hi! Yes, inspiration can come anytime, anywhere… including the loo, LOL! I don’t mind it, as I think inspiration is such a great thing I have to just “go with it” (LOL). Inspiration can be slightly annoying if I’m out on the highway riding my bike, as I have to stop there and then to make notes or else lose the idea (and then wonder what all the drivers think as they see this cyclist on the side of the road on his phone!). A fun post, thanks for sharing it! (PS: I stopped getting notifications so am catching up with your posts this morning. 🧐)

    1. Lol yup we can get inspired anywhere haha. Unfortunately, my followers stopped getting notifications and emails. I contacted WP a few days ago but haven’t heard back. I’m hoping they will fix it eventually.

      1. LOL yeah.

Oh thanks… I wondered what happened there, as I had been busy and not keeping up with my fave blogs on Reader. Then I remembered I hadn’t seen a post for a few days and randomly thought, “Hey, I wonder what’s up with Pooj.” 🤔

        1. Thanks for remembering me, I feel like WP is really messing me up and so many of my regular readers aren’t finding my posts which is so frustrating. And they aren’t even responding to me.

          1. The service ain’t what it used to be, that’s for sure. I knew I wouldn’t miss looking out for your posts for too long! 😎

            1. Thanks and you can say that again!

  20. My brain wouldn’t shut up either. Granted, some of the ideas it gives are good but sometimes it do keep me restless. Gotta keep it working tho I guess..

    1. Yeah sometimes I feel like it needs to shut up haha. It’s a gift and a curse.

  21. I feel like my mind talks more than me. Like right now I want to chill, yet my mind keeps telling me what if, what if, and what if.

    1. True, mine does that too and I just want it to shut up sometimes lol.

  22. Our minds are beautiful works of art that never stops thinking, or being creative. We are ever growing into our beautiful selves. Thanks for sharing. Have a beautiful weekend.

    1. I absolutely agree, our mind is a gift in many ways. Thanks and have a beautiful weekend too.

  23. For me, it’s the shower… and I never seem to have a pen in there! 😜

    1. Haha that’s a very unfortunate place to have ideas 😫

  24. Finding inspiration in the loo cracked me up, Pooja! When I’m sleeping is when I wish I could turn off my mind. Even if I’m tired, the minute my head meets the pillow, thoughts start twirling and whirling. 🙂 But our brains are necessary, so hang in there, and don’t forget deep breathing.
My 6-word story: Let inspiration come when it comes. 🥰❤️

    1. Lol, glad it made you chuckle 😅

I feel the same way, my mind seems to go into overdrive when I’m trying to sleep and it can be annoying. Meditation helps to an extent though.

Love that six word story! 😊

  25. Yep, mine’s the inconvenient ponderer. Always dreaming stuff up when I’m trying to fall asleep 😊.

    1. It’s always when we’re trying to sleep 😫😅

  26. I’m happy to know that I’m not the only one. It gets quite annoying sometimes. But would I change it?? Probably not. 🙏

    1. It’s a gift and a curse. And you’re definitely not alone in feeling this way 😫

  27. I’ve had great ideas in my dreams and while I shower. I could invest in a waterproof notepad. As for ideas in dreams – I never wake up in time before the idea goes poof!

    1. Yeah, a waterproof notepad is a good idea. And yes, I have some ideas in my dreams too that never come back. It’s very annoying.

  28. Great six word story 😊

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  29. When the brain keeps going it’s time to get the notepad out! Those thoughts/ideas are like gifts. 💕🎁

    1. Haha absolutely! 😊

  30. Your posts are always great…..!!!!!!!

    1. Thanks so much!

      1. 😊😊😊😊😊

  31. Love those six words!

    1. Thank you!

  32. This is a great SWS, and I really love the optimism and positivity.

    1. Thank you so much.

      1. You’re welcome!

  33. Brain never shutting off is such an issue. I am now at the point I am developing a Power Down button lol

    1. Lol, you gotta do what you gotta do.

  34. Wow it is beautiful! Love the picture.

    1. Thank you so much!

  35. *chokes on laughter* Girl, you are awesome. 🤭
I also have a problem with shutting my brain off.. I’ve grown to love it though.

A universe explodes behind my eyes.

    1. Haha thanks! It’s a gift and a curse 😅

      1. You’re not kidding. It can be quite exhausting sometimes.

        1. It really can be.
