What’s Up With Me?

Omg y’all, for once (always) I have so much to say. Okay, so I watched Fool’s Paradise yesterday. I am a huge fan of Charlie Day and I believe this was his directorial debut. I was going to watch it no matter what so I didn’t bother reading the reviews and boy am I thankful for that. Don’t believe the negative reviews. The movie is absolutely brilliant. It is both written and directed by Charlie Day and he plays the lead character.

The movie is a satirical comedy and I feel that not everyone will “get it.” And that may be why it has so many negative reviews. And honestly some people are just haters. I really liked the message behind the movie. And even though it was in a comedic manner, the movie shared many truths about the world. I am also a big fan of most of the actors in the movie. Mainly thanks to It’s Always Sunny. And they did  a wonderful job with their roles. I feel like this movie was what Glass Onion wanted to be.

Charlie Day is absolutely brilliant in this movie, the script is amazing and his directing is wonderful. The movie is so unique unlike most of what is put out these days. I would highly recommend watching this movie.

  1. Honestly, I don’t watch a lot of movies and haven’t heard of Fool’s Paradise. Next time I’m looking for a movie to watch I’ll keep that one in mind.

This past weekend I was working. We were short staffed on Saturday so that was a bit stressful. Otherwise same old routine over here. Today, I worked on more designs for my little Redbubble shop. I hope you like Pizza Cat 1.0 and 2.0! 🍕🐈‍⬛

    1. Yeah, this is a good pick and the movie is simple so it’s not really cringey or anything.

I’m excited to see it, I know you sent the link and will take a look at it as soon as I have a minute 😊

  2. A lovely quote…. Beautiful inspiration.

Haven’t watched or heard about the movie. Will check it out.

I finished watching “He’s expecting” yesterday. It was about a man getting pregnant and how he go through that 🙂.
Now will start again with Police University (korean drama)

        1. I’m rewatching Fleabag and watching the latest season of Never Have I Ever. I’m weirdly good, thanks! How about you? How’s everything with the site coming along?

          1. Stay good bud 😁

The thing with site is going great.
Made several changes, which I invite you to visit it.

Otherwise I have some doubts, I’ll drop mail 🥺
            🆘

  3. I want to see that movie. I try to avoid movie reviews for things that are not mainstream.

This post was serendipitous for me because I was contemplating writing a blog on love and this provides a view I had forgotten about.

I read the whole poem from that quote. The poem does not inspire one to seek out love in my opinion, lol.

    https://poets.org/poem/love-8#:~:text=To%20wake%20at%20dawn%20with,of%20praise%20upon%20your%20lips.

“To know the pain of too much tenderness.
    To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.”

    Thanks for another great post.

    1. Yeah, generally I avoid reviews for everything because my opinion is usually different.

Yes, not really a poem that inspires people to seek love haha. Thanks so much.

  4. I’m a big Charlie Day fan too. I never see trailers or reviews so I missed this one but I’ll check it out! I like it when he branches out from his archetype from It’s Always Sunny; I’m not sure if this is a movie where he does that. I liked Horrible Bosses but I feel like he still basically played “Charlie” in that one. Not a bad thing, I just like seeing him as different characters lol.

I liked Glass Onion too but it’s one of those movies I didn’t pay a lot of attention to while watching it. I laughed out loud when he solved the mystery 1 second after the game started and I never laugh out loud anymore lol.

    1. True, his character on Horrible Bosses was sort of similar to Charlie from Sunny. Still loved it but it’s nice to watch him branch out.

Yeah, I didn’t find the movie “haha” funny for the most part but I had so many other problems with the plot.

  5. I love the quote, Pooja! I’m not much of a movie fan but will take this one into consideration. My hubby and I have been spring cleaning and nurturing our outside plants.

    1. Glad you enjoyed it! This movie was so enjoyable and easy to follow. It was very refreshing.
Spring cleaning sounds lovely. I have been trying to do that myself but got lazy this week lol.

      1. Thank you for sharing. It sounds like a very interesting movie. Actually I have been trying to read Kahlil Gibran’s poetry for years, but have never got to do it. I don’t know why.

  6. I’m also a huge Charlie Day fan. I’ve loved him since before he was Charlie Day (if that makes any sense); and I hadn’t heard of the film, so I will definitely check it out! Thanks for the recommendation, Ms. Pooja! 💫💕💫

    1. I totally get what you mean! I became a fan because of Sunny but love the other stuff he’s done too. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the movie 😊

  7. Hi Pooja,
The quote by Kahlil Gibran and your review of the movie, both have some interesting messages.
    What’s up with me?
Our vacations for the summer are coming to an end.
Our regular classes for the second semester will start from 19th June.
The sunlight is coming straight, making the land much hotter and warmer. People inside the room are turning into the form of fried potatoes.
Last night, it rained. It’s a great blessing to the entire living and non-living being community.

  8. Thanks for the tip about ‘Fool’s Paradise.’ Your review makes it intriguing to me. I don’t think I know of Day’s work… I must have been living under a rock, LOL!

    1. He has a very niche fanbase so it totally makes sense you haven’t heard of him before, but definitely give this movie a try. We really enjoyed it.

  9. I like the title Fools Paradise. I know it was used a lot as an expression in the old days and it’s nice to see it’s coming back
