Urgent Notice

I have some bad news guys and wanted to share this urgent notice. Unfortunately, a lot of my followers have reached out and let me know that they are no longer receiving email notifications when I publish new posts. And there is also an issue when subscribing to my site via email. It’s giving an error message when people attempt to subscribe via email.

Honestly, this really sucks but there isn’t much I can do about the situation. I have notified WordPress but they are working on it at the pace of a clinically depressed snail. So, I have no hope that this will be fixed soon. I am sorry for any inconvenience but if you are inconvenienced feel free to talk to WordPress’s customer service about it. It’s always great to know that the platform you pay hundreds of dollars to have pretty much no help available for you and I just recently noticed their new update has changed how the chat option works when trying to chat with Happiness Engineers. It’s pretty much just there to say it’s there but they don’t respond and tell you they’ll respond via email instead. Which takes them days to do.

Sorry about the salty post lol. I was just feeling a little optimistic and the Universe felt like it’s time to take me down a peg. So thankful that it keeps me depressed humble. Thanks for listening to my rambles urgent notice, there’s going to be a lot rambling posts this week since I’m in the mood to ramble.

  1. I noticed a bit at times, but I usually got a notification via Jetpack (surprisingly) but this wasn’t with every post. I didn’t get an email for this one either.

    Anywho, I feel you. Why are subscription based services acting wonky for? Like, I’m paying often to update and work on the app constantly and consistently. It’s not fair to pay $58/month or year for a faulty service.

    I thought you were going to say you were shutting down the website. I was clutching my pearls.😂

    1. Yeah, the whole email thing is a mess and they’re taking 3-5 business days to respond which is so frustrating. I just want to reach into my computer and throttle someone lol.

      True, why get a paid plan if they are not worth it and WP always glitches.

      Lol I’m never leaving don’t worry 😅

      1. 😂 I wanted a paid plan but I’m not so sure now. I’m making $0/month so I can’t pay it.

        1. The free plan is really not that bad to be honest 😅

            1. Yeah, I’d recommend sticking with the free and only updating when you’re making at least twice as much as the cost of the plan. The updates are really not that worth it 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Pooja, we will simply need to spend this time making your blog even MORE popular! 😁 Thank you for letting us know what is going on. I notice that WordPress is hilariously useless for any type of help.

    My web server host (Bluehost) and Jetpack do everything for me. Jetpack is why I still get all your notifications. Of course, I am required to pay them nice amounts of cash each month. But without them, I would not be able to maintain my website.

      You’re right, WordPress is laughable when it comes to helping. I remember it never used to be like this when I started blogging but over the years it keeps getting worse.

  3. WordPress service and help has really gone downhill in the past year. One thing that really bugs me is they want bloggers to pay extra for wordpress to promote their blog on various platforms. I pay for a premium blog already and then they add an additional fee for what they should have been doing for me anyway

    1. I completely agree. Recently their service has been awful. I hate that as well and since they started having an option to promote posts, our organic traffic has decreased. I’m guessing they are doing that on purpose to force people to use their promotion services. Definitely, with a paid plan they should be doing that for free.

  4. I think they’re having a number of issues. I had almost finished a post when the whole thing disappeared and left me on a completely different page. Half of my notifications arrive after I revisit my latest post to see if anyone has visited it, then suddenly I get a half dozen notifications at once.

    1. Yes, whenever they make changes to the platform there are glitches that come along with the changes. And they just never bother fixing them.
      I’m sorry you’re having these issues too and losing a almost finished post is awful. And the notifications thing seems very inconvenient.

    People on wp can surely get notification about your latest post, but people outside wp needs mails. So, I hope it resolves.

    Wp support still hasn’t solved my case. I dropped them a video of how my reader is glitching. I expect help from them.

    1. I hope so too but knowing WP it’s going to take ages to fix if it even gets fixed at all. I have a decent number of email followers and it sucks that my views have gone down since they no longer receive emails from my site.

    Once had an issue with logging in lol that story still gives me PTSD

  8. I understand the feeling. I recently said that I was having trouble with my reader although I hadn’t done anything differently, and they basically told me that the changes were my fault. Weird.

    1. Yeah, they do that a lot and pretty much blame you for the issues and don’t really ever give you a proper solution.

  10. 🤔 All of the blogs that I follow show up on the the WordPress Reader (And, that is provided that they did not exceed 15 tags and categories combined).

    I never follow blogs via email.

    I have discovered a disturbing trend; which is most of the technical difficulties on WordPress tends to happen with users on paid plans (That, unfortunately, can cause someone on the free plan to not upgrade to a paid one).

    As a paying customer, you should have your technical issue rectified in a timely manner.

    1. Yes, it’s true. I’ve had more issues after upgrading which is so disappointing.

  17. Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I actually thought you were taking a break from blogging these days. I didn’t receive any notifications from you, and your posts didn’t show up in my reader. However, I noticed your post today. Since I have very few followers, I can recognize all of them, and you were one of the few people who followed me when I started blogging.   18. Urgh, I was happily following everyone in the Reader feed. Then one I follow said that he made his blog private and couldn’t get me on because of my settings. So I changed them and I could receive emails from bloggers I follow and I’m getting bombarded, which is why I adjusted the settings in the first place not to receive them via email.
    Once I have the time to change it back to the way it was, I will, and whatever gltich there is, so be it.
    There’s a blogger I really like and I can’t even comment on her blog. It says I’m not “signed in.” But I’m always signed in!
    Wordpress either has some glitches, or it’s my computer because I have too many settings on so Facebook people can’t find me. I downloaded a search engine called Duck something where it blocks anything to do with Facebook.

    1. I totally get that, I changed my settings so I’m not constantly getting emails from WP too. It’s just too much sometimes and I’d rather look through my Reader which is easier.

      True, some sites need you to signin and for some reason I can sometimes not sign in so I just leave a like even though I want to comment.

      It’s not just you, it’s definitely a glitch. I’ve experienced it too.

  21. Aww man. A lot of changes have been happening with WP recently, many good but some bad, so I can imagine the Happiness Engineers are getting more messages than usual. I hope they fix this problem ASAP though. Thankfully I still see your posts in my Reader as I look forward to them 😊

    1. I agree, there have been many changes which have caused glitches. I don’t mind the changes for the most part but I feel as though they should take responsibility for the glitches and fix them in a timely manner. Glad you’re still seeing my posts on the Reader 😊

  24. I hope they figure it out. I keep getting weird WP glitches. I schedule posts in advance and I get a message that the schedule was missed. Then when I comment, I some letters won’t type. Ugh.

    1. That happens to me once in a while too, my scheduled post doesn’t go up and I get an error message. The letters thing sounds annoying. Hope both glitches get fixed for you.

  26. so sorry to read this, pooja! i hope they fix it for you soon. i’ve also been having problems with my site (mainly with scheduled posts and/or comments updating). i have a free site, so don’t fret too much about it, but if i had a paid plan, i’d for sure want it to operate smoothly! good luck!

  30. Wow, the issues with WordPress just keep mounting! No wonder you’re annoyed with them. I hope they sort it out soon. I only get some notifications and not others, too. The inconsistency is lame.

  32. You are right. WP is changing. I didn’t pay attention to it for four days and somehow many of my statistics are disappearing from my page. Love the pink wall picture of yours. LOL. I hope this is just the usual glitch that can go away after several days.

    1. The changes are annoying. Now you can’t see subscribers like before and have to go to the subscribers section. I find that so unnecessary lol.

  36. Yeah… I was all worried my depression pills were making me too happy, so I tried reading a useless book to put me in a bad mood like I’m used to? But the silly thing had a happy ending…

    Lots of things can go wrong in this life and WordPress is one of them! I hate how when you look for help, a robot answers when you’d prefer a human instead. Maybe the e-mail thing will sort itself out in time… Maybe not. Myself? I’m perfectly happy to read all the comments right here.

    1. Don’t you just hate those unrealistic happy ending…

      Unfortunately, some of the issue was fixed but the rest seems to be taking quite a while. Hopefully it’s fixed soon. I would prefer a human answer for sure but I would even take the robot over them not answering me at all for days which is what has been happening.
