What I Eat In A Day #12

What I Eat In A Day

What I Eat In A Day

I feel like I haven’t done a “What I Eat In A Day” post in a while so I decided to do one. To be honest, my appetite has been low lately and I wasn’t eating much. But I’m trying to force myself to at least eat something these days and my appetite has sort of been coming back. So, the portions may be a little smaller on todays post. And as always, all the food mentioned is vegan.

Breakfast

I don’t generally eat anything for breakfast. I never wake up feeling hungry and if I force myself to eat I get nauseous. So, I generally just have some tea or smoothie or something liquid. I always forget to take a picture because I’m not fully awake lol. Sorry, just picture a nice cup of tea in your head instead lol.

Lunch

What I Eat In A Day

For lunch I had oil-free jackfruit curry. It was delicious. I never had jackfruit till I was an adult and I absolutely loved it. I love trying new foods and this one has become one of my favourites. For curries, you need to use raw jackfruit. Not the ripe ones you can eat without cooking. I had the jackfruit curry with some plain white rice. Everything was really nice and it was such a healthy and comforting meal.

Dinner

What I Eat In A Day

For dinner, I had naan and vegetable kolapuri which is a type of mixed vegetable curry. My mum made everything and it was all so good. I generally avoid eating naan outside since most people don’t offer vegan naan. And I prefer eating it at home since I can add vegan butter to it as well. Most restaurants don’t do that and only offer regular butter. So, this was a delicious treat. The curry was pretty spicy and the pepper turned out to be insanely spicy so I didn’t eat the pepper lol. I always think I have a great spice tolerance and instantly get humbled…

Anyway, that’s what I eat in a day!

  1. Oh, I recognize jackfruit. Mrs B loves jackfruit and found it made a good vege-burger. BUT. One time she was eating one and there was some fiber or something and it cracked her tooth completely. Her dentist was flabbergasted and put jackfruit down on her list of things that can crack teeth. It’s not a long list. So that is why I recognize jackfruit 😀

As for spicy. I don’t even try any more. Forget medium spicy, I’m lucky if I can handle mild these days, hahahaha. Black pepper on my toasted tomato sandwich is about as hot as I can take.

    1. Jack fruit is so good but you need to be so careful because the seeds stay hard unless you boil it for hours. That’s probably what cracked her tooth.

I think I need to take it down a notch with the spicy food too. Maybe stick to some black pepper.

      1. I bet you are 100% correct. Bleeding seeds! 😀

Funny thing about black pepper. I only like it in that one sandwich. Anywhere else, it is a no-go for me. Our bodies are so weird sometimes, you know?

        1. Lol yup, jackfruit seeds are dangerous! 😅

That’s so interesting, yeah we have the randomise taste preferences sometimes.

  2. Looks amazing. I don’t eat breakfast as well, but I most definitely have to have a coffee. (✿◠‿◠)

    1. I used to be a coffee person too but had to stop because it gave me anxiety. But I still enjoy some tea 😊

  3. Have to have my Ningxia and my yogurt!

    1. That sounds very healthy and delicious!

      1. They are!

  4. Pooja, you eat like a little bird! I need much more fuel than that each day. 😂❤️ I like your voice.

    1. Haha yeah, I don’t have much of an appetite to be honest 😅 Aw, thank you 😊❤️

      1. ☺️☺️☺️

  5. Didn’t know there’s a jackfruit curry! Omg love that fruit when I was kid, so abundant in the tropics!

    1. Yes, you can make curry from it too!

  6. Looks good to me too!!! I’ll have to check the video later !!!
    💕❤️😂

    1. Thanks you! 😊

  7. Jackfruit curry!!
    Haha
Never tried to eat it, my sister like it though.
Your dinner, I want that 🤤.
How many calories would that be?

    1. It’s delicious, jackfruit is also very healthy. The dinner was all by my mum and it was amazing. And it was mostly low-fat/low oil.
I think a little under 1000 calories. I know it’s not enough but I don’t want to force myself to eat more than I can.

      1. Well main thing is your satisfaction.

So if you are happy doing it, enjoy it 😁

        1. Yeah, I’m happy and never hungry so I’m good with the amounts I’m eating right now 😀

  8. Me too. I don’t have much of an appetite for a while. Probably it is due to the summer–very humid and a heat wave is coming. LOL. At least the rain is gone finally. Would love to have your food anytime. They look delicious and very healthy. When I was your age, I loved junk food–I would drink one can of coca cola every morning, ate bags of potato chips for snack throughout the day, which completely destroyed my appetite for real food. LOL. Anyway, you are so healthy and that’s lovely.

    1. Yeah, it’s hard to eat when the weather is very hot. Most people in their twenties don’t eat very healthy. I was like that before too but for the last year or two I have become much more healthy. Thanks so much.

  9. I love everything you eat! The trouble is that I’m not too fond of cooking, and finding ingredients here in Japan would be painful. I can only find them in Indian supermarkets that are spread in major cities only 🤔 It’s been ages since I saw jackfruit! I love it 🥰

    1. Thanks so much! I can imagine, I think most of these wouldn’t be so popular in Japan so definitely harder to find. But Japanese food is amazing too so I’m sure you’re enjoying it 😊

  10. jackfruit curry makes for a great lunch. I would say… breakfast is the most important meal of the day, Pooja…. but then again… I’m not a breakfast person either 🤣

    1. Haha yes, I hear that a lot but breakfast just isn’t for all of us 😅

  11. Yummy!! 😍

    1. It was! 😊💕

  12. That doesn’t look much but it does look delicious! I’ve never tried a jack fruit curry. One for my list!

    1. You absolutely have to try jackfruit curry, it’s amazing! I’m sure most Indian restaurants there offer it.

  13. Haven’t had Naan for a while. Last time I had any type of Naan was in Wales. Peshwari Naan. We had arrived late one night from London, and the restaurant was so about to close, but the owner served me and my mates the best curry ever.
You really don’t eat much do you? ☺️

    1. Yeah, I don’t have naan often either but when I do I really enjoy myself. That sounds amazing, nice of the owner to still serve you guys. Haha yeah, I don’t have much of an appetite 😅

  14. I love the jackfruit curry that my mom makes. I love eating and exercising.

    1. Jackfruit curry is so delicious. I love it too.

  15. Everything looks good! I’d favor the jackfruit curry.
I didn’t know you had a YouTube channel. I’ll check it out.

    1. Thanks, really appreciate that! The jackfruit curry was amazing and didn’t even taste oil-free.

  16. It all sounds delicious! (Well, except the insanely hot pepper!)

    1. It was all really delicious minus the pepper lol.

  17. The food sounds and looks yummy. Personally, I’m fond of curry (too).

    1. Thanks so much. Curries are so good.

  18. This looks yummy! I’m quite fond of naan, curry and jackfruit too– although the only cooked jackfruit I’ve had was some BBQ canned jackfruit I made some years ago. It was delicious but yet I’ve never tried it again. Maybe this is a sign I need to

    1. Oh yeah, I’ve had BBQ jackfruit in a burger and it was amazing. You should definitely try making it again!

  19. Looks good. You seemed a little rushed or maybe nervous in the video. I love curry.

    1. Thanks so much, curry is always delicious. At least for me. Yeah, I was a little rushed haha.

  20. It looks delicious. I’ve never heard of jackfruit ’til just now. I have a tooth that wants to crack… I don’t eat ’til lunch either. Today I ate celery and red, sweet pepper chunks in 6 bean dip, some almonds, walnuts and pecans with dried cranberries, a smoothie with many assorted fruits and leafy greens. For supper I had a large, 6 greens salad with lots of veggie toppings and a big bowl of cooked beans with onions, grape tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic, rosemary, sage, thyme… I know… I’m a piggy vegan!

    1. Those actually sound amazing. It’s okay to have large meals as long as you enjoy them. And it sounds pretty healthy. I absolutely love salads and yours sounds really good especially with those beans!

  21. Looks delicious ✅

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  22. I’ve had naan before but I too it like a pizza. And I do occasionally eat white rice with like a chicken stir fry. I never had curry though.

    1. Oh I see, I would really recommend trying curry. It’s so good depending on which one you get.

  23. Everything looks good, but I don’t know about that jackfruit 🤣. Just don’t like the thing.

    1. Lol, that’s fair 😅

  24. My dad loves jackfruit and would cook the seeds to make a curry although I don’t eat it. I love reading your What I Eat in a Day posts! 💕

    1. I’ve heard about that, many people cook daal or curry with the seeds too. But I’ve never tried that. I usually just eat the jackfruit part and remove the seeds.
      Thanks so much 😊

  25. I didn’t use WordPress hardly at all this weekend so I almost missed this! I had naan last night with lamb Hyderabadi (I am 2% sure on the spelling). I have American faux-Indian once a week roughly. It took 10 years from the first time I had Indian for us to get it near me so now I overdo it 😅

    1. Just two blogging besties eating some naan 🫓 Yeah, you spelt it right. Woohoo haha 😜Hyderabad is a place in India and they have a very popular way of cooking and their dishes usually have Hyderabadi before them. Lol, I get it. Indian food is hard to resist 😅

      1. It was rosemary naan too 🤤

        1. Damn, now I want some naan 😅

  26. Food looks amazing; your mom must be great cook 😍
I love jackfruit curry as well☺️☺️
    Enjoy 😉

    1. Thanks so much 😊 Yes, she’s such a good cook 😁

  27. These all look amazing! I need to broaden my palette and try out more dishes like these. I know I definitely need to try some more Indian, Thai and maybe Jamaican. What are some of your favorites or dishes you’d suggest trying?

    1. Ooh, Jamaican is so good too. I’m sure you’ll love it. If you haven’t tried Jamaican dumplings I would so recommend them. For Indian, I would recommend biryani or pulao. They’re both rice dishes and very delicious. I also really like Dum Aloo curry. It’s very hearty and has a mix of flavours.

  28. Looks very tasty especially the naan bread which I absolutely love and Jackfruit is a favourite dish in my household

    1. That’s wonderful, yes naan is always so delicious especially with curries.

  29. Everything you eat looks delicious! I am going to try to do the jackfruit. Now I am hungry…thank you Pooja!

    1. Haha thank you! I would so recommend jackfruit curry, it’s quickly become one of my favourites.

  30. Looks tasty! I’ve never tried jackfruit curry but it sounds really good. Also, I love when traditional foods are remade to be vegan. My sister and I bought a vegan Jamaican cookbook which was so shocking to us because traditional Jamaican food is usually very oily with lots of frying and meat so it’s nice to still be able to eat food from our culture but have it be vegan. And thanks for sharing the video! I’ve now subscribed to your YouTube as well.

    1. Thanks so much! Jackfruit is delicious so I would really recommend the curry. Yes, so true. I love that we can still enjoy our cultural foods by making vegan versions of them. I’ve tried making a couple of vegan Jamaican dishes and loved them.

  31. All the dishes look great, I would love to try them for sure. I made some of them at home and there is no guarantee they were in any way authentic. By the way, I made yellow curry a few times and it was great! As for my meals today, I had overnight oats for the first time, they turned out great! And for lunch I had fried potatoes with onions and white fish with salsa on top, it was a one pot dish, which means, I had it all simmered in a skillet covered with a lid. I opened a bottle of red whine because it’s Monday, always a reason to celebrate life.

    1. Thanks so much. For whatever reason, I just don’t like oats. I don’t have an issue with the taste but rather the texture. Your lunch sounds wonderful though. Haha yes, there’s always a reason to celebrate with a nice glass of wine.

      1. Some people can’t stomach oats, I think it’s a genetic thing, I’m pretty sure

        1. I think so too since my dad has the same issue.

  32. I was about to ask if you made them, but in the end, you mentioned your mom did. They look delicious. I always like your food posts. 👌

    1. I made the oil-free jackfruit curry and my mum made the rest. Thanks so much 😊

    2. Btw, I left a comment on your latest post but I think it went to spam.

      1. Okay. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll check spam.

  33. Jackfruit curry? That’s so intriguing. I too like to take on the chillies and peppers and I don’t always come out on top.
You have the most interesting meals btw.🖤

    1. Jackfruit curry is very delicious, would definitely recommend it. Haha yes, we always think we’re brave when it comes to spicy food but sometimes we regret it…
Thanks so much, I try to mix things up with what I eat 😊

  34. Yummmm everything looks so delicious!

    1. Thank you so much!

      1. You’re welcome!

  35. These foods sound so interesting. I’m imagining that cup of tea for you lol

    1. Thanks so much. Lol, I can’t live without my tea.

      1. Welcome. I am the same

  36. […] What I Eat In A Day #12 […]

  37. Nice and simple meal plan 👍🏼😊

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  38. To be honest, I particularly enjoy your ‘What I Eat In A Day’ series(lol). Maybe because I’m a foodie and I love trying out new foods 🤭.

Plus, there’s some sort of pure joy I get when I’m looking at an image of food..

I do write down some of the recipes you mention in your post…. So I’m sad this doesn’t have anything on how to prepare the meals 😩. Would love to try them out someday

    1. So glad you enjoy them. I love food related content too and hope to share more in the future. Don’t worry, will be sharing some recipes soon 😊

  39. Thank you, Pooja.
Skipping breakfast is not good. Please eat something with tea. If you can go without dinner, that is okay. But breakfast is a must! 👏🌍

    1. Thanks so much. I have an acid reflux issue so breakfast makes me nauseous and my doctor told me that it may be better to not eat solid food for breakfast for that reason 😞

      1. Okay. I am sorry, Pooja. Just carry on, please.

        1. No problem, just wanted to let you know why I skip breakfast!

          1. You have a reason. Be with it.
