Six Word Story #202

Six Word Story #202

Six Word Story:

The leaves changed. You never did.

About This Six Word Story:

I feel like I haven’t written a six word story in quite a while and wanted to share one today. Actually, I was busy with another post but got caught up with some work and decided it would be best to publish something else today and publish that post next week. Anyway, you don’t need a whole history lesson about it.

Back to the SWS. It’s autumn/Fall (depending on where you live) for a lot of people living in the Northern hemisphere. And one of the things people associated with this season is the leaves changing. And it is something I love about the season and miss very much now that I’m in Kenya. So, I guess that was in my mind and that’s where this six word story originated from. I guess it got me thinking about how some change is so necessary and natural and yet many of us fight it. We fight so hard for things to remain the same even when we know change is the best option. Humans are weird, lol.

Do you like Fall? How do you feel about change? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear your thoughts. And don’t forget to leave your own six word stories or story in the comments. It can be with the same theme as mine or even something completely random. Or if you don’t want to do that simply just stop by and say hi!

  1. I don’t like change, especially in myself. But as I’m getting older and I read over my old journals from 20 years ago and I realize that I “have” changed, I am glad that I did. Thankfully, it seems to happen slowly enough that it doesn’t bother me 😀

    1. Sometimes we do change, and we never realize it. Like we gradually stop doing or start doing something and when we look back we see oh I didn’t used to do it a year ago 🤷🏻‍♂️

    2. Yeah, we all change as time passes. I don’t like change either but we can never get away from it. Slow change is always the best 😀

  2. I like it. It’s awesome writing with beautiful words👌👌👌👏👏🥰🥰👍👍

    1. Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it 😊

      1. My pleasure, Pooja😊🥰🤗🙏🙏🙏

  3. The weather in Las Vegas is still a bit like summer with highs in the 70s and 50s at night. Not bad…

    1. Not bad at all although a little cold during the night.

      1. Exactly, it was 69 in my house this morning, turned the furnace on for first time this fall.

        1. I guess it’s officially cold enough for the furnace now.

          1. Wow, heat is tho. It’s 46 here this morning, I just woke up!

            1. Wow, that’s quite cold!

              1. It is for here but Las Vegas is in the High Desert

                1. Yeah, it’s a desert so I guess extreme temperatures can be expected sometimes.

                  1. Pretty much! I’ve seen thin ice on backyard pools and 115F heat here!

                    1. Wow, that’s some crazy weather. I guess that comes with living in a desert!

                    2. Yes, this is called the High Desert. Hence, it gets colder here than the Sonoran Desert which is south of Las Vegas many miles.

                    3. Interesting, I didn’t know much about deserts or that there were different types.

                    4. There are several deserts on this planet.

                    5. I think I’ll have to read up on them.

                    6. Do it! ❤️❤️

                    7. ❤️😊

  4. Autumn is my favourite season

    1. Same here, I love it.

      1. Hope you are going well. Watching season 8 of the X Files here

        1. I am, that sounds interesting. I’ve never seen X Files.

          1. It is a favourite. Especially in our group. I fell asleep with Apocalypse Now on though

            1. I see, it does sound interesting. Never seen Apocalypse Now either.

  5. I love Fall!
    True this :
“I guess it got me thinking about how some change is so necessary and natural and yet many of us fight it. We fight so hard for things to remain the same even when we know change is the best option. Humans are weird, lol.”

    1. Same here, Fall is so fun! Thanks so much.

  6. I like changing seasons, so yes to both 😂

    1. Same, it’s so beautiful 🍁

      1. 🌺🥰❤️

  7. Antumn is displaying its blazing colors …

    1. I really do like Fall! Change is hard, though inevitable. I feel like nothing much is permanent in this world. It makes all changes so hard!

      1. The spectrum of a Rainbow is the only gem in nature that compares to the blazing colors of Autumn!

      2. Absolutely, nothing is permanent and change is more difficult due to that. It’s scary and new but also inevitable.

    2. Great six word story and yes it sure is.

        1. My pleasure.

  8. The first three words were not unexpected for this season… and then you dropped the boom with the next three! Nice.

    1. Thanks, yeah I do love those little twists haha.

  9. Loved the SWS 👏🏻
I love the way you write ( 6 words)

I won’t say I’m a fan of this season, as it bring allergy with it. But good thing is I have no issue this time, maybe due to the ayurvedic medicines that I’m taking 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔
Or the autumn never came 🤷🏻‍♂️
Because it’s already started getting cold here. Seriously in India you cannot tell the seasons apart, like it rained last week, and it made my bike very dirty 🥹
Now it’s cold, sometimes it’s hot.
I see new flowers, what is going on. 😵‍💫

    1. Thanks so much. Yeah, it can be tough for those that have allergies. It’s the opposite here and it’s too hot for me to enjoy the weather. I hope it rains properly soon. The weather and climate have changed drastically over the last few years 😞

      1. I think you leaving canada is to be blamed 🤷🏻‍♂️

Jokes apart, weather change is bad. And in coming years we will see extreme heat in winters and cold in summers and zero to no rain

        1. Yeah, I agree. It’s going to get more extreme.

  10. Hi Pooja, I resist change, I hide in the bushes, I feel super uncertain. Stability is the thing that keeps me from breaking free, it’s not even stability per se, it’s the promise of it.
You wrote this six word story about me, I want to thank you and assure you that I will jump into the river and just go with the flow. Maybe…

    1. The leaves changed. So did you.

When people show their true colours

      1. Or their true age. Who wants to stay forever young?

        1. That’s a whole new perspective I did even see 💯

      2. Those are both really good ones! Change is so complicated…

    2. I’m the same way. I’m not good with change, it makes me extremely anxious and uncomfortable but at the same time a lot of changes are unavoidable.
Happy to hear that, good luck with going with the flow. I think that’s the best way to deal with change.

  11. Hi Pooja,
Its great to see you are keeping up with your posts, I have started posting again on my blog and it would be a pleasure to reconnect!

    1. Hey, so happy to see you back here and will definitely check out your blog!

  12. Whew! This one packs a mighty punch, Pooja!

    1. Haha, thanks!

      1. You’re welcome!

  13. I love your six-word story, “The leaves changed. You never did.” It’s concise yet thought-provoking. Change can be a beautiful and necessary part of life, just like the changing leaves in autumn.

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, just like with the changing seasons, change is necessary in life too.

  14. “The leaves changed. You never did.”
“change must be gradual.. . unlike seasons ” 😋😉

always enjoy your sws and we enjoy your history lessons, Pooja 😉🤍

    1. Love your SWS too, thanks so much 😊

      1. always a pleasure 🤍

  15. Changes never stopped, but she did.

I was thinking about doing a post on changes today, too. You must have forgotten to turn off your mind control machine. 🙂

I was thinking about how every cell in our body constantly changes, yet if you take a sample of bone marrow, you can see signs of nuclear fallout from the past. So essentially, every second, you are changing into a different person.

    1. My mind control machine is finally perfected 😅

That is really fascinating. We’re constantly changing even physically and our body leaves the past behind.

  16. Whether someone likes it or not, change is inevitable.

    1. Exactly, we can fight it but change always happens.

  17. Misty, clammy, chilly, gloomy and dim.
Promise of the darkness to come.
The land slowly dies to brown.
The grey sky drizzles its tears.

Your story inspired me to write a poem.

    1. That’s great, glad it inspired this. Really brings to mind Autumn.

  18. You have fallen; Autumn mourns you.

Take leave leaves, because Mistletoe grows.

You leave me like crumbling leaves.

The winter of your death approaches.

Your tree sheds again your leaf.

    1. You have fallen;
      Autumn mourns you.
The winter after your death approaches,
and I will crumble when your favorite tree
      sheds your greenest leaf:
the leaf of your unfinished book
and the tree is dying from salty tears
      and too many storms.

      1. Wow, loved the six word stories. A poem full of them.

  19. I like change and especially enjoy living in an area where there are four seasons. It’s fascinating to see the trees outside our window go from pink buds in spring, rich green leaves in summer, amber and magenta leaves in fall and even when they are bare in the winter, their limbs look like works of art. I enjoyed your six word story, Pooja.

    1. That’s really lucky, we only have two seasons here and I miss the other two. Every change of seasons brings beauty in its own way. Thanks so much. Glad you get to enjoy all four seasons.

      1. You are welcome, Pooja.

  20. A thought-provoking SWS, Pooja. While I like routines, I am usually okay with change, and try to recognize it as a part of life. The positive changes are easier, of course!

    1. Thanks so much. Agree, positive changes aren’t too bad but the negative ones take a while to get used to. Still both are a part of life.

      1. My pleasure!

  21. change is the time to rearrange
    odd and strange
    familiar slow low down
    go to town
    too
    you?

    1. Change is something I struggle with because I both love and hate it.

      1. flesh to test. nothing is the best. no take backs no mulligans, runs drips nor error.

      2. fishing missing but gone . no one like me but yet i get the sense of sensations the words as a child were strong and never mild . the pagan horde a c chord. clothed with spice and all things nice indeed. ha!

  22. I like Fall a lot. I was born in the Fall. I enjoy seeing the colors of the leaves, I actually look forward to seeing it every year. I like the feeling I get when I am outside. Change is something I don’t really like, but I know it’s a part of life, and I have most certainly changed and grown in a lot of ways. It has been a little while since you posted a SWS. Just keep up the good work that you do. Looking forward to the next one. Have a great weekend.🎃

    1. That’s really nice. I love Fall too. It’s so beautiful when the leaves change. Thanks so much and have a great weekend too 😊

    1. Thank you!

  23. This 6 word story is perfect.

    1. Thanks and yours is too 😉

  24. Missing you is my punishment maybe.
This would be mine for now

    1. Love both of those. Heartbreaking yet beautiful.

      1. That’s a big compliment for me you know

        1. Deserved compliment.

  25. I like changing seasons, I like when it’s fall which means winters are around the corner. I love winters.

    1. Same here, I always loved winter and fall most. Winter is so beautiful.

  26. You changed. Just like seasons do.

    1. Touching SWS, went well with mine.

  27. I prefer trees to most people

    1. Yup, trees are awesome.

  28. Leaves fall. You’re going down too.

I can be dark too 🤣😎🙃

    1. Lol, I love that. You need to share more dark stories 😅

      1. Nah I prefer to be bright 🤣😎🙃

  29. Love your story, Pooja. Very clever. And I love this season too. Change is inevitable, and if it’s a positive change then it’s easy to accept. If it’s the opposite, then it’s harder to deal with, but that’s life. I try to go with the flow, although it’s not always easy. Hope you have a good week ahead.

    1. Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed it. Absolutely, negative changes are much harder to accept but still that doesn’t change anything. Going with the flow is best although not always easy. Have a good week ahead too.

  30. Six words that pack a punch! 🍁 Your comment, “Humans are weird, lol” made me laugh, too.

    1. Haha thank!

  31. Oh wow! These six words sure are powerful.

    1. Thanks, so glad you enjoyed them.

  32. Good one!

    “Spring: Celebration
    Autumn: Separation
    Winter: Isolation”

    1. Oh nice, I like yours too.

        1. You’re very welcome!

  33. Deep six word story
    Love it

    1. Thanks so much.
