Tasting Event By The Chocolate Bar
Recently, I was invited to a chocolate and wine tasting event by The Ythera Chocolate Club, you can learn more about them by clicking here. The chocolates were provides by The Chocolate Bar and the wine was provided by The Artcaffe Market Cellar. Both my sister and I were thrilled to attend the event and of course I wanted to document everything to share with you guys. So this is not exactly a review of The Chocolate Bar. More of me sharing my experience but I thought I would review The Chocolate Bar’s handcrafted chocolates that they offered us. The thing is, I used to buy their vegan chocolates way before this event so I already knew they would be great lol.
Review And Experience With The Ythera Chocolate Club
We arrived a little early because my anxiety was like “y’all can not be late” lol. The table was being set up but everything already looked so beautiful. We chatted with Danson from The Ythera Chocolate Club, he had been the one to invite me and was the person behind this amazing event. Stephenie was hosting it and she was as knowledgeable as she was radiantly beautiful.

However, everyone soon began arriving and before we knew it, the table was full. Danson and Stephenie first explained the evening to us, how to properly appreciate the handcrafted chocolate and so much more. We were off to a great start!

Next, we were going to be tasting the chocolate and pairing it with a specific wine to see whether the wine enhanced our experience. The first chocolate we tried was a white chocolate covered in dark chocolate paired with sweet white wine. The next one was a hazelnut chocolate which is actually my favourite type of chocolate.

Lastly, the chocolate I was most excited for. The Mexican Chilli. I love spicy and sweet food but I was prepared to not enjoy the combination of both. However, to my surprise, I really enjoyed it. The spice didn’t hit you all of a sudden but there was a gradual build to it from sweet to spicy. And in the end you remained with the spicy flavour. It was quite an adventure for the tastebuds.

We had such a fun time trying these chocolates and wines. It was amazing and I actually ended up learning quite a lot about both. They also hired professional photographers for the event which is why some of the images look more professionally taken than my usual images. I always forget how big my head is till I see images of me taken on a camera *insert skull face emoji here* lol!

After the tasting, we were able to get to know one another better. We were all up-and-coming Kenyan entrepreneurs and professionals and so were also able to share more about that. And we played a little Q&A game where I won this chocolate:

We ended the evening by exploring The Artcaffe Market Cellar which was beautiful and had such a wide selection.

Final Thoughts
This was honestly one of the most fun experiences I have ever had. I was so happy and honoured to be invited to such an exclusive club. It’s the number one chocolate club in Kenya and no. 5 internationally. They also have a membership. If anyone is interested in joining or even just learning more about it you can check out The Ythera Chocolate Club’s IG page and reach out to him. I think this was such an educational but exciting event. And I mean, who doesn’t love chocolate, right? So why not learn to be best appreciate and enjoy it. Having handcrafted chocolates is such a different experience than trying the store bought ones. Shoutout to Danson and The Ythera Chocolate Club for the invite, to The Chocolate Room for the chocolates and The Artcaffe Market Cellar for the wine!
