“Things seem to be back to normal,” she said, skeptically waiting for the next WordPress glitch to ruin her posting schedule.
Yesterday, I talked about how my site was glitching on the Reader. And after radio silence from WordPress, it seems that things are officially back to normal. For now, until the next glitch happens.
You know, I’m not mad about the glitch itself. No platform is perfect. And WordPress is the poison I’ve chosen. I don’t expect it to be perfect. What pisses me off every single time more than the glitches is how they react. They instantly get super defensive and instead of being like “sorry about the inconvenience and thanks for your patience” they’re just like “what glitch? everything is totally fine…”
I love WordPress. And I really recently thought they were on a path towards improvement. But my experience with this glitch made me realise that this is still the same WP that everyone is mad at. And it’s such a shame because a lot of us love this platform, we’ve built so many friendships here. We put so much time and energy into this platform but get nothing back. Not even basic courtesy. It just sucks and at some point it starts feeling like you’re stuck in a bad marriage. Not that I would know what that’s like but I imagine it’s a lot like this.
Anyway, things seem to be back to normal and I’m grateful that they eventually fixed it even if they were hoity-toity about it. I hope everyones site is okay now, let me know if it is.
