Matt Berry, Acid Jazz, Lots Of Laughs And Some Exploring

I thought I would share a short update on what has been going on in my life lately because I know I sort of disappeared this week which I try to not do often. So, this week has been somewhat colourful for me. I mentioned in an earlier post that I have gotten closer with my cousin brothers recently and they had a birthday last week. They’re both born on the same day. But someone, definitely not me, accidentally got them sick so we couldn’t celebrate. So, we decided to celebrate this week. And celebrate we did, it was a fantastic evening. We laughed, we explored and we enjoyed each others company. Such a great way to celebrate their birthday. Of course, I did film everything and take plenty of pictures to share so be on the lookout for that.

In other news, I’ve been listening to a lot of acid jazz recently. I’m not a big jazz fan, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I love acid jazz and that’s thanks to Matt Berry. You may know him from shows like The IT Crowd, Community, What We Do In The Shadows, Toast Of London and more. Did you know that he’s also a musician? Well, now you know. Check out some of my favourite acid jazz songs by Matt Berry below:

Do you like acid jazz? Are you a fan of Matt Berry? Do you like his music? What have you been up to? Let me know in the comments section because I’d love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. Never have until you brought it up. I didn’t know it existed!

    1. Now you know, this is your sign to listen to some acid jazz!

  2. We are finally finished moving! Whew! That was yucky and I don’t recommend it! 😜. Our new place still needs to be unpacked and organized, but we’ll get there! Hopefully before Christmas! It is wonderful to have my bed back and I have been getting a lot of quality sleep between bouts of unpacking and organizing! Can’t wait ’til it’s all done! I never thought we’d get it all packed up and moved, but we did! We will triumph with the unpacking and organizing too. It just takes time!

    1. Oh wow, that’s a lot of work but still good news! You’ve got this and so happy you were finally able to get a new place!

  3. Lazlo !!! I will listen … <3

    1. Yesss, I love Lazlo he’s hilarious.

  4. i had no idea he was in community i remember watching that before i got rid of my tv lol maybe he’s in the later seasons and i missed him? omg have you seen garth marengi’s darkplace i love him in that too!
i really like the second song it reminds me of stuff i used to listen to in my college days hehe

    1. Yeah, he was in one of the later seasons I think. And he’s just there for one episode. I really want to watch garth marengi’s darkplace, I’ve seen some clips and it looks so good. But I’m watching Toast Of London right now.

  5. Having fun with family is awesome. I’ve not heard of acid jazz before.

    1. Thanks so much. The genre is new to me too and I’m very much enjoying it.

      1. You’re always welcome

  6. I’m not that familiar with acid jazz, but I enjoyed Matt Berry.

It’s great to see that you got to celebrate with your cousins after that unfortunate delay.

    1. Thanks so much, yeah it was nice to finally be able to go out together.

Matt Berry is so talented. And I’m actually loving acid jazz even though I didn’t think I would.

      1. My pleasure. I wouldn’t think I would have either as I’m not very big on jazz.

    1. Thanks so much.

  7. Nice to read you had a fantastic evening of celebration with your family. 🎉 Cool music. 😎

    1. Thanks so much, yup we had a blast 😊

      1. Wonderful! 🙌🏻

  8. While I’m familiar with the acid jazz genre, with Matt Berry not so much. I do listen to some notable artists from that genre though, mostly from the U.K. — there’s Jamiroquai, Incognito and the Brand New Heavies.

    1. Oh I see, I’ll check out the artists you mentioned too. I’m new to this genre but loving it so far.

    1. Glad you enjoyed it.

  9. In the process of a fraught move to a smaller house.

    1. Moving is hard but hope you get settled in soon.

  10. I’m glad to hear about your fantastic time celebrating. And I liked the first video so I guess I do like acid jazz. The other video wouldn’t play.

    1. I guess so. Acid jazz is quite fun to listen to. Sorry the second video didn’t work, try opening the post on a different tab that may help.

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja.

  15. I’d never heard of Acid Jazz, or any of the artists. But then I’d never heard Taylor Swift or The Weekend either. Matt Berry? Not for me. I do hear a Beatles influence. Maybe SGT. Peppers started this genre? And I recall Acid Rock. I was there. It remains a favorite. Jefferson Airplane and the like. The SanFrancisco sound. 🙂

    1. Matt Berry isn’t a popular musician but I love his sound. I’m sure it’s not for everyone though. I love acid rock too, Jefferson Airplane is probably one of my favourites,

  16. Nice post 💓💯

Blessed and good afternoon from Spain 🇪🇦

    Greetings pk 🌎

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  17. so glad you had fun. Acid Jazz is a new one for me. I’ll have to listen when the baby wakes up.. not sure it would be the keep baby sleeping kind of music😹❤️

    1. Thank you, new to me too and yeah not a good idea to listen to it while the baby is sleeping lol 😅

      1. hey, loved the first one which I’d never had guessed. ❣️

        1. So glad you loved it 😊

          1. Meeee too.. never would have guessed acid jazz would be appealing❣️

  18. I am glad you had so much fun this week! I never heard of acid jazz! Now thanks to you, I did! Hey did you get my email with my guest post article in it?

    1. Thanks so much! This is your sign to listen to some acid jazz. I got the email, sorry for now replying earlier I’ve been super busy but will reply tomorrow!

  19. Acid jazz is fun, Parov Stelar is my favorite in this genre. I have watched some good movies and went to Pink Floyd laser show last night, absolutely great experience. Also, I made a jalapeno honey bread last night, which makes me feel so proud. There is more cooking to be made 🙂

    1. Will definitely check out Parov Stelar. I’m new to this genre but really enjoying it. Wow, that sounds so fun and the jalapeño honey bread sounds delicious.

      1. It was a great experience! Planetarium is a great resource for such things

        1. Yeah, I think so too. I’ve only been to a planetarium once but it was so much fun and we learnt so much.

          1. It’s never boring there

  20. The last few days were a rollercoaster. Managed to sprain my arm in a clumsy fall, so bedrest it was. Then, last night, I found myself trapped in this spine-chilling nightmare .Picture this: a large bear plunged and shadows closing in. I couldn’t move a muscle, and when I finally did, I was drenched in sweat. Wild, right?

Jazz? Not really my jam. It’s like my brain gets caught in a musical time loop, and I end up feeling like my clothes got stuck on some invisible hook—I’m just trying to break free!

    1. Oh wow, that sucks. Hope you arm heals quickly. That nightmare definitely sounds quite scary.
I’m not a big fan of Jazz either but Acid Jazz is so different and I’m loving it.

  21. Never heard of acid jazz, but I do love Matt Berry. Thanks for enlightening me.

    1. It’s new to me too but I’m loving it. Yeah, Matt Berry is so fantastic and hilarious.

  22. I love jazz, like the others I have never heard of acid jazz.

    1. I think acid jazz isn’t that popular but has a fun sound to it.

  23. I like Bossa Nova- Brazilian Jazz

    1. Interesting, that’s totally new to me. Any songs you would recommend?

      1. Girl from Impanema is famous there

        1. I’ll check it out, thanks.

  24. I saw this one pop up on my phone and was excited to read it because I’m genuinely a fan of Matt Berry’s music, particularly “Kill the Wolf”. He’s a comedic genius as well; it’s rare for someone to be a great actor AND musician. Plenty of actors try to create music, but it’s usually unlistenable. 😂

    1. He is genuinely so talented as both a comedian and musician. I wasn’t sure about listening to his music for that reason but I’m impressed by how good it is 😊

  25. Interesting. I’ve never heard of Matt but he’s good. 🤣😎🙃

    1. He’s a comedian too and good at that as well 😊

  26. It’s good to hear even someone doesn’t like jazz music. And congrats to you on your cousin’s birthday😊🥰🤗👍

    1. So glad to hear that and thanks so much 😊🤗

      1. Warmly welcome, Girl😊🥰🤗🙏🙏

  27. I worked for a Jazz promotion agency in London for a while. Free concerts and gigs. Made me fall in love with the genre. I’ll definitely check out Matt Berry. Thanks PoojaG 💜

    1. Oh wow, how cool. I’m not a huge jazz fan but acid jazz is really growing on me. My pleasure 😊

  28. I love finding out about talented people I didn’t know about before. thank you for introducing me to Matt. and, to you.

    1. I’m happy to, Matt Berry is so incredibly talented.

  29. I love Jazz, but I didn’t know about acid Jazz. I will definitely check it out and let you know what I think. Has his music been around for a long time? I am going to see if I can find it on Pandora and add it to my playlist. Thanks for sharing. I hope your family is well. Have a great week.

    1. I’m sure you’ll enjoy Matt Berry’s music if you already enjoy Jazz. It’s different from regular jazz but also similar. I’m loving it. Yes, he’s been making music for quite a few years now. Thanks, we’re all well and hope you are too.

  30. I found a whole list of his music on Pandora. I will be listening to it later to see how it sounds. I am always looking for new music to listen to.

    1. That’s great, he’s on Spotify too and has numerous albums out so I’m sure you’ll find something you like.

      1. I am quite sure I will.

  31. I’ve never heard of acid jazz before. But this music isn’t too bad it’s sort of reminds me of music from the ’70s.

    1. Yeah, it’s inspired by the 70’s/60’s sound.

  32. Not exactly my thing, acid jazz. But I liked your choice. Could be nice background music sometime 🖤

    1. Thanks so much. It’s definitely not for everyone but something I’ve gotten very into.
