Today, I decided to share a different type of post. I used to write posts like this one a lot back in the day. And recently I’ve been editing older posts which helped inspire this one. So, today I’ll be sharing some advice to my younger self that I wish someone had told me then. If you’re younger than me (a teenager or young adult) I hope this advice helps.
Stop Caring So Much
When you’re young, every tiny thing feels like the end of the world. But it’s not. Life goes on no matter how badly you mess up. And I know you like to stare at yourself in the mirror hyper fixated on your flaws. This may be shocking to you, but that’s not healthy. It’s messing up your mental health. Stop fixating so much on your flaws. You’re beautiful but not perfect and that’s okay. No one is perfect and chasing perfection is an absolute waste of your time.
Love Yourself More
I know you really don’t like yourself right now and that’s not okay. You need to stop being so hard on yourself. And love yourself. There’s only one you and you have so many awesome things to offer the world. And please, get help for the depression and anxiety. You’ll feel SO much better when you do.
Everyone Struggles
Literally everyone struggles and no ones life is perfect. I know you may feel like you have really bad sometimes and that’s fine but you’re not alone. Every single person has ups and downs. Those struggles make us stronger and teach us to be better people.
Conclusion
That was pretty much the advice I would give to my younger self. Sometimes I miss being a teenager. Being an adult is tough in some ways and I miss being all to spend all day with friends and not having to worry about the future.
What advice would you give your younger self? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!
