Books By WordPress Bloggers You Need To Read

I really wanted to share this post as 2024 starts for two reasons. First, I read some great books by bloggers in 2023. We have some incredibly talented writers in this community and I wanted to share those books with you guys. Secondly, if I’m going to share book recommendations I would rather support writers from WordPress. So, without any further ado, here are books by WordPress bloggers you need to read in 2024 (in no particular order):

Re-Create & Celebrate By Cindy Georgakas

Re-Create And Celebrate By Cindy Georgakas | Books By WordPress Bloggers

I’m going to be honest with you, I’m not a fan of self-help books so I didn’t know how I would feel about Re-Create & Celebrate. But thankfully it’s nothing like a cliche self-help book. Instead, I would categorise it more as a self-care book. I find self-help books pretentious but this was nothing like that. Re-Create & Celebrate is very honest, real and down-to-Earth. It gives genuinely good advice and Cindy even shares her own experiences which can be relatable for many readers. If you’re looking to start 2024 right and be inspired to be your best self then this is a book you need to read. It has practical advice on how to improve your life, put yourself first, achieve your dreams and find happiness.

Grow Damn It! By Cheryl Oreglia

Grow Damn It!: The Feeding and Nurturing... by Oreglia, Cheryl

Grow Damn It! is another book I read in 2023 that I absolutely loved. Cheryl Oreglia is such a skilled writer. This book is one of those books that never get boring. You’ll feel so many emotions reading it and her witty sense of humour is going to keep you wanting to read more. Grow Damn It! is about Cheryl’s life, experiences and more. It’s sweet, funny, personal and honest. It’s one of those books I think everyone would enjoy so do check it out.

Spook Season Stories By Pennie R. S. Nelson

Spook Season Stories: Volume One | Books By WordPress Bloggers

You guys know I love Halloween, right? Well, I do. And this book was a perfect read during the spooky month of October. It’s not too long and contains multiple short stories so it’s very reader friendly. It’s perfect for someone like me that is pretty busy but can take a few minutes to read a story or two before bed or during a break. I really love the stories that Pennie shares on her blog so I knew I would enjoy the book and I very much did. If you’re looking to read some spooky tales, this is the book for you.

Ever So Gently By Lauren Scott

Ever So Gently: A Collection of Poems: Scott, Lauren

I think Ever So Gently is the only poetry book I’ve read this year and I have to say I loved it. I really want to read more poetry books and I think this was a great one to start with. Lauren Scott shares personal poems in this books inspired by her life and experiences. Although many are uplifting some are more personal and touching. If you like poetry I would really recommend Ever So Gently. It’s so easy to read since it’s not too long and is very well written.

Reunion: A Story By Alex Diaz-Granados

Book Review – Reunion: A Story by Alex Diaz-Granados – Thoughts From the Mountain Top

I’m not big on more romantic novels but I really enjoyed this one. Reunion: A Story is about a history professor and author that lives in New York City. He seems to have a great life but due to certain circumstances is forced to go back to Miami where he grew up and reopen old wounds. This book was one of those that I found really relatable because first he’s a history professor and I studied history so love that. Plus, we all have old wounds especially from high school. We all know what it’s like to love someone but being too scared to tell them how we feel. We know what it’s like to be insecure in high school. And we all change a lot as adults and remembering our old wounds can be tough. I would really recommend reading this book, it’s not just about romance but about life too. A wonderful read.

Winning Over Shame By Debi Adams

Winning Over Shame: Overcoming Sexual, Emotional, and Psychological Abuse by Adams, Debi

I read this one a while back and even attended an event for it. I was introduced to Debi Adams’ writing thanks to WordPress. She is an incredibly strong and resilient person who has gone through more than any of us can imagine but worked hard to move past her trauma and become the person she is today. Winning Over Shame is a memoir where she shares her experiences with abuse as a child and how she works through the trauma as an adult. I would recommend this book to anyone working through trauma or shame caused by trauma and abuse. However, just a heads-up, this book does talk about abuse so it may be triggering to some.

My Life From The Back Burner By La’Brea Aquaria

My Life: From the Back Burner by Aquaria, La'Brea

Like the others, I was introduced to La’Brea Aquaria’s writing thanks to WordPress. She is such a wonderful persona and writer. This book is a memoir too where she shares her experiences in life, her fears, her failures and how she overcame her obstacles to get to her dreams. I would really recommend this book to anyone who enjoys memoirs.

Conclusion

So, these are the books by WordPress bloggers I think you need to read in 2024. I loved all of them and I think you will too if you give them a fair chance. And if you’re someone who enjoys reading anyway why not read books by WordPress bloggers and support fellow writers in the community.

  11. These are all outside of my genres, so I won’t be diving into any of them. I am glad you enjoyed them enough to recommend them though. That says a lot about what is inside the covers.

    1. That’s fair, we all have our preferences when it comes to books. Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed them.

  12. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

  13. Thanks for these recommendations. Something strange has been happening with WordPress. I didn’t see any of your posts for days and suddenly you’re back. Not sure why you disappeared from my feed but glad you’re back again!

    1. Happy to share them, hope you check some of these books out if you get some time.
That’s so odd but I had a feeling that was happening as some of the people who regularly like and comment on my blog have disappeared. Another day another glitch on WP. Hopefully it’s gone now.

      1. Yeah, hopefully it’s all ok now. I thought you had disappeared from WP because you were taking time off from blogging for the holidays! LOL.

        1. Lol yeah, now you know it was just WP messing things up haha!

  14. Thank you for including me in your list of books .I am glad you enjoyed reading my book. This means so much. I am smiling right now. I will check out the books that you listed. It is a good idea to support those of us who are not only bloggers, but authors as well. Absolutely amazing. Have a great week.

    1. You’re very welcome. I loved the book and am patiently waiting for the next one. I hope you enjoy the other books on the list as they’re really great too. Yes, I think it’s nice to support one another as many bloggers are also authors and have really great books. Have a great week too.

      1. I suppose I am going to have to find some time to write. I study so much. It takes up a lot of my time. I thought I would have it completed, but it looks like it will be sometime in 2024 when it will be finished, if not, I will keep working on it until it’s finished.

        1. Yeah, it’s hard to find the time when you’re studying. Keep trying your best.

  30. Thank you for sharing these reviews.

    1. My pleasure.

  31. Hey, thanks for the kind shoutout about “Reunion: A Story.” I was in the midst of a stressful (and mostly unwanted) move to New Hampshire when you posted this, so I missed it in December. I appreciate your kindness and willingness to read a novella that is in a genre you don’t normally read.

FYI…I don’t read romance books often. It’s not my preferred genre, but I did have these types of feelings as a high school kid, and they left scars, too.

    1. Happy to share it! And no problem at all, I know you were busy during that time and much less active on WP.

Same here, although I don’t read much romance I found this book relatable. I think most of us have had similar experiences in high school.
