Six Word Story #210

Six Word Story

Six Word Story:

Solitude- every writer and readers paradise.

About The Six Word Story:

This is a response to two posts this week. The first one is the Moonwashed Weekly Prompt. This week’s prompt was “solitude” and I really wanted to respond because solitude is one of my favourite things. As an introvert, solitude is very much my best friend. Shoutout to Eugi for this awesome prompt!

The second prompt is Kevin’s. I saw this image on his latest NTT challenge post and loved it. I knew I wanted to use it somewhere but wasn’t sure where. And then I wrote this six word story and knew it would go perfectly with it. Shoutout to Kevin for the many awesome images he creates that are so fun to work with!

As I mentioned, I love solitude since I’m pretty introverted. And I think a lot of readers and writers feel that way. At least the ones I know. We tend to really cherish our alone time and appreciate the peace and quiet. As I get older, I find myself becoming more introverted. In fact, if I had enough money I’d buy a little island and live on it all on my own forever. As long as it had Wifi. of course…

What are your thoughts on solitude? Let me know in the comments section below. And do share your own six word story/stories in the comments below that goes with this theme. Or just share a totally random SWS because why not! Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. And a divorced man’s solitude.

    1. Ah yes, solitude is much better than a bad marriage.

      1. Heck yes! 🤙🏻😂

  2. I am an introvert as well. I love solitude in nature, a beautiful forest with wonderful aromas and the quiet (hopefully no bears) or sitting alone looking at a beutiful scenery, or skiing down a slope that is completely empty of people.

    1. Oh yes nature is amazing. I love it too and no bears here so nothing to be scared of.

  3. Two prompts, six words, one great story! 👏
And I agree, a bit of solitude is quite nice indeed. 👍👍

    1. Thanks so much! 😊

      1. Most welcome 😊🙏

  4. Sweet peace allows for healing time.

    1. Yes, so true!

  5. Introverts become extroverts with themselves in solitude…. Thanks for the share.

    1. So true, thanks so much.

  6. My contribution:
Solitude- my inherent shadow of truth.

    1. Really enjoyed your six word story, thank you.

  7. God’s mountain; my time…for now

    1. Love that six word story.

  8. Sweet surrender serves splendid silent solitude.

I like solitude, but if I don’t keep busy I get a bit restless and have to go for a walk outside. I would not do well in prison, lol.

    1. That’s a great six word story, love the wordplay.

I’m the opposite, I can be alone for months and not care at all.

  9. “loving him in solitude from afar”

    1. Aw love that six word story.

  10. Good explanation pooja

    1. Thanks so much.

      1. Keep it up dear 😊

  11. As an introvert, I prefer solitude too. Solitude is good for especially readers and writers for reading, creating content, introspecting and processing thoughts.

    1. Yes, solitude is really peaceful. Great for us.

  12. It is the truth. Well said Pooja

    1. Thanks so much.

      1. You’re most welcome

  13. I have come to love solitude the past few years. During my career, I was constantly tied to a work cell phone that never stopped with calls from tenants, contractors, and management. Those phones were always in my hands and I had no peace.

Since I quit my job in 2018, it took some time for me to adjust to the solitude of not having those cell phones anymore. But now that I have solitude, I won’t give it up.

I love living on a Island, in my little house surrounded by trees, enjoying the peace and quiet I get these days. I wouldn’t trade it…

    1. Yeah, it must be a nice change from all the stress. Your home sounds so lovely, would love to live in a secluded place like that someday.

  14. Solitude is awesome! Asa mom of four, I rarely get this! The island sounds great! Can I come to visit? Just for a little while we can enjoy some solitude together! I need a vacation!!!

    1. Haha you sure can!

  15. An excellent six words, Pooja! I like solitude sometimes, especially in the morning before hubby awakes but then I can’t wait for him to get up so I have someone to talk to. Thank you for contributing to my prompt. 💕

    1. Thanks so much! Aw that’s so sweet. I think when you’re with the right person having company can be fun too. Always a pleasure, really enjoyed the prompt 😊

  16. I too like being alone
There can be hours when I go without any company or taking to anyone.

Yes, we age I feel it’s becoming more and more common.
I was not like this, but now I’ve stopped making new friends or even if I try to make friends, I don’t try hard towards those friendship.

I feel yes, I’m lonely and all, whom do I have to talk to when I’m bored and feeling sad.
I did invested in many friendship, but those never worked, and that puts a hole somewhere.
Age tells you that, you are okay on your own and screw them 😛

    1. Also, I’ve seen you are writing a lot based on these AI generated images.
Good thing, it shows how beautifully your mind work. I like the ideas you come up with while looking at these images.

      1. Thanks so much. Yeah, they’ve been a lot of fun to respond to and gives me the space to get creative.

        1. And something different for the readers

    2. Yeah, solitude can be very peaceful. Having people around all the time is too much drama and as we age we just want calm 😌

  17. Well done, Pooja! Save me some.

    1. Thanks so much, saving you lots!

    NICE post 💯💗

    Blessed and Happy afternoon 🌞🇪🇸

    Greetings pk 🌎

    1. Thank you ☺️

  19. from well said to beautifully expressed, Pooja.🤍

    1. Aw, thank you so much ☺️

      1. always a pleasure 🤍🤗

  20. Solitude is only beautiful when you have other options, I mean if it’s not a solitary confinement 🙂

    1. Yeah, solitude is definitely better when it’s a choice.

  21. Solitude follows its own inconvenient schedule.

    1. It sure does, if only it would hurry up already…

  22. Solitude….what’s that!!! Busy mom never gets that. Send help! LOL

    1. Lol, you need some asap!

      1. I sure do!!!!!

  23. I love me some solitude and would say my introversion has become more pronounced since retiring and living through the pandemic. That said, I do enjoy smaller gatherings with friends, or even bigger ones if they’re related to something I enjoy a lot. And I’d add I agree with Milena in the sense that choosing solitude is better than it being imposed.

    1. Oh absolutely, I think solitude is enjoyable when it’s a choice but not so much otherwise. I think the pandemic increased introversion for most of us. We got used to being on our own or at least socialising less. I definitely became more introverted after.

  24. I’m with you Pooja, love my solitude. Hugs, C

    1. It’s just so peaceful. Thanks for stopping by!

  25. I sometimes don’t mind being alone…but, I refer lots of people, friends, co-walkers, travellers…I’ve recently found I like just talking…interacting…sharing more

    1. That’s really nice, I find interacting a bit exhausting but I know a lot of people actually enjoy it.

  26. Great post about Solitude my friend😂
Okay, let me be honest and say “Why should I be all alone when they are people who are funny like me out there? Huh😂

Okay, here is a joke, an old man who stays all alone becomes so bored he goes out to a strip club to find a woman to party with! Haha, isn’t he a bit old😂😂😂

Now you see why getting old sucks😂. Anyways, great article and on a serious note, being alone is needed to regain your origins and think clearly about your life🙏

    1. Thanks so much 😅

Lol loved those, you gave me a good laugh 😆

      1. 😂😂😂😂I am a Comedian after all. I love jokes

        1. You’re a good comedian 😅

  27. Quite true. We flourish in solitude ❤️

    1. Yes, very much so ❤️

  28. Could sure do with some!!

    1. Hope you get some soon!

  29. I also love solitude, that takes me a world of fantasy. I like your portion about the island you lived, there WiFi available.

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, the fantasy world is fun to escape to sometimes.

      1. Yes definitely, the world where no irritating factors

  31. Great SWS, Pooja <3 and in total agreement about that island. It sounds kinda funny though … an island of introverts instead of misfits!

    1. Thanks so much, lol an island of introverts is the dream!

  32. I love the image and the six words, Pooja.

    1. Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed it.

  33. Solitude is me finding inner Peace Of Mind❤️❤️

    1. I know how you feel ❤️

  34. As an introvert, I cherish solitude too!

    1. Yeah, I think as introverts we need our alone time!

  35. Being in solitude works for me. It is when I can write the best articles.

    1. Same here, I feel like when you’re alone you can properly concentrate on your writing.

      1. Yeah, I guess that’s why I write more at night because it’s quiet.

        1. Same here, most of my writing is done at night after everyone else is in bed.

  36. Silence and solitude breeds your serenity

    1. Very much agree with your six word story.

      1. 🙌 I was just glad to see that I had two of them to read and comment on when I logged on today. I’ve not been on for a bit so it was nice to see you had written them 👍

        1. Yeah, I’ve been trying to post more six word story posts since I know you and some of my other followers enjoy them 😊

  37. Oh I love my alone time! I need it to function! Peace and quiet in the early morning, bliss!

    1. Same here, alone time is a must!
